Purity quickly shut the door and the lights off, feeling shocked.

“Wolf, Demon, now a Vampire? Grandmother, what have you done? What have I gotten myself into?”

Her words echoed in the room's darkness as she plopped on the bed and stared at the balcony doors. Unsure if she had heard the whole conversation, Purity knew the meaning of it.

A lump in her throat started growing as thoughts of her life in the past couple of weeks played out. From the phone call about her grandmother dying in the hospital, the accident, and finding out she had been cared for by a pack of wolves and a demon, she didn’t think life could get more demanding. But now, a vampire?

A knock at her bedroom door broke her from her thoughts, “Come, come in,” she said hesitantly, knowing there was no use pretending to be asleep.

Purity watched as Johnathan’s face came around the door frame in the dark. She couldn’t make out his expression, but his voice sounded as if he was concerned.

Sorry it took so long to update. I have several other novels I have to catch up on now that I'm better, so please, please be patient, soon I will be able to update more regularly. For now there should be a regular update for this novel 2-3 days a week at the least. Thank you for all the support, and I really hope you enjoy the story so far between each character. Leave me a review sometime who you think Purity is fated with, or who you'd like to see her mated with. Would several brothers at once, be too much? Or not enough?

    Unfortunately, I got very sick in early 2023, and in October of 2023, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma type cancer. I have finished chemo, and it is officially in remission (yay! thank the Lord). I will be updating soon, hopefully, as my energy returns. I want to finish my stories and continue others soooo badly, it is driving me crazy! I am soo sorry for the lack of updating, and keeping in touch. I hope everyone is well and I look forward to writing for you again soon. Please be patient and thank you for waiting on me, I promise to hurry!

    Johnathan's laughter rang through the phone as Lasci started to undress to ready his wolf, "What's so funny?" he asked, kicking off his shoes. "A moment, please, let me gather myself," Johnathan said, trying to calm the laughter, "You have no need to rush out as if saving the day, Lasci. The shifter is harmless. We've already had a nice chat over the phone, and as for Purity, I will say she's enjoying her dominance over Tener. I brought them to the gym for some blood-pumping exercise and discipline. It turns out our Purity is quite the little fox when it comes to handling your brother. She has had him on his back several times after learning only a few moves. The front door opened, breaking his thoughts when Pru came in. “Any luck?” Prus shook his head, “Nothing. She’s either covered her trail perfectly or had help.” Running his hands desperately through his hair Lasci swore, “Fuck, I bet that vampire helped her. Where is he?” “I haven’t seen him since dinner last night. It’s possible he helped her leave, but we can’t be certain. If the female wolf was here, in fact, looking for a mate, I doubt she would have left regardless of what the situation was. Not all of us will be mated to Purity, so she had a chance. If you ask me, I think she was just looking for a place to hide before moving on.     Purity watched as Johnathan threw a wave out the van’s window and drove off. She was nervous about being left in Tener’s care but decided she could fend for herself by turning away from him and heading straight into the kitty café. Small mews from the kittens in a small enclosed sitting area reached her ears, and the smell of baked goods and tea filled her nose. A standing sign greeted her and read, “Find your seat, lift your feet, and get cozy. Our fluffy friends will find their way to you. They are well behaved and will let you enjoy your meal in peace (All cooked breakfast is chef’s choice, baked items are created fresh every morning.).” Purity giggled because at that moment, a large, short-haired tabby rubbed against her legs and meowed loudly, demanding attention. “Awe, aren’t you precious?
