Six Years Later- Billy

After being chased for a good two years and having to change addresses all the time. We all got tired and were running lower on money. It was hard to find work. So we planned on faking our deaths. It cost us half of the rest of the money we had left. So we had just enough to live on while me and Alicia found a job. It worked out well and we managed to start out a new life. We both work in the food industry. We work there part time for four hours a piece. We don’t make much but just enough to keep food on the table and pay the measly rent. Talia never seemed to mind the apartment as long as it wasn’t that room she lived in. She became rather independent and her skills improved immensely. She was just incredible as her mom predicted. Possibly much more and we won’t find out till it comes time. But I know if anyone can take these people down it’s her.

I always worked the morning shift from eight till twelve. Then I spend the rest of the day with Talia. While Alicia likes to sleep in a little later and wakes up at ten and gets to work at twelve when I’m leaving. She comes back at four. Her and Talia cook dinner. I'm not much of a cook but I’m good at making the table and cleaning up. So Alicia and I just make up for each other’s lack. From twelve to three Talia and I train. I spend an hour with her on combat training, an hour on her special ability training and we spend an hour doing separate practice. I am now in the best shape I’ve ever been. I learned that Talia can boost my physical strength with one of her abilities. Making it easy for me to knock out my opponents without killing them. Talia doesn’t want to kill unless it’s absolutely necessary. She can knock someone out with the thought as long as she looks at you. She can control your actions while looking at you. We don’t have a grasp on how many people she can control at once. 

When I got home at my normal time Talia was up and obviously in deep thought. When she doesn’t greet me immediately at the door. I know she’s distracted. She can generally hear me getting out of the car. So I know something when she hasn’t noticed I was here. I said what’s on your mind kid? She jumped and said wow I was that deep in thought huh? I said yeah so what’s been on your mind? This isn’t the first time this week. She said remember about the first apartment we went to while we were on the run? I said yeah what about it. She said well when you told me about mom I wondered if you said you never saw her die. I nodded my head and said why do you ask? She said well since I’ve been getting stronger I’ve been having dreams about this woman. I think she’s my mom and if that’s my mom I don’t think she’s dead. But I think she needs my help. I am strong enough to help her. So can we stop running. I want to live like normal people. We can’t do that until we fight this battle. I asked do you really think she’s alive? She said yeah I do, I just didn’t know if you’d believe me or how to tell you. I knew it was a painful subject for you. I said well if she’s alive that will make me a very happy man and Alicia ecstatic because she’ll finally have her family back. All we have to do is continue on with our plan. She said, ``Can we do this? I said we have to talk to Alicia and solidify our plan. 

She said ok and I have a plan for when we get there. There is something I want to try but we can’t count on it working. I said what is it? I said you know how I learned to broadcast my thoughts to you. He said yes I said well what if I can do it in the place. What if I broadcast I’m here to take them down and anyone who wants to join me. I will tell them of my strength and hope they join my battle. It gives us allies on the inside. He said I see that’s an interesting idea. If it works that would be quite cool.

 Anyway you are ready to get some training. She said old man, I think I surpassed you long ago. You can’t take me. I laughed and said I can still kick your ass in combat that doesn’t have to do with your special skills. She said I know I know. Yeah let’s go I chuckled again. She was getting better in combat. She could almost take me down. When she could she would be quite the formidable opponent. During our training Alicia got back home. She said hey you guys are going overtime on your training today. Get showered and help me cook. Talia said you got it but after I shower I want to talk to you. She said what about but she ran off pretending not to hear. Get out of your work clothes and be out to help in a bit. 

Alicia laughed and said what’s with her. I sighed and said of course she leaves me to explain her weird moves. She laughed and said teenagers for you. I chuckled at that and said well Talia has been apparently having dreams of your sister, my wife. She drew this picture of the women from her dreams. I showed the picture to her and she gasped and said what did she say about it. She said she thinks that women is still alive. She feels like she has to save her. She is ready to finish this. She wants to be able to be a normal girl. But she doesn’t want to do that until all the other kids can be normal kids too. She wants to end these people’s rein over our lives. She came out of the shower and finished with and heal my mother. Heal her I asked? She said I think I can heal mom. She is sick but I can heal her. I don’t understand it, that's just how I feel. I want to meet my mom and take back the family and childhood I was supposed to have. So please help me fight. I don’t want to wait another year. Alicia said you really know how to motivate. I was always here to help you fight. But to also give me a chance to see my sister alive again. That is a hell of a motivation. Her eyes glossed over and I remembered how they were both attached by the hip. When I started becoming friends with her I also became good friends with her sister. They were always around each other. Until I asked for some separate just me and her time once a week. 

Our plan was to sneak into the building which should be quite easy and then once in try to make that broadcast of yours. To tell everyone that you are an experiment they tried to kill because you were too powerful to control. You escaped with that power. They never found you and you became the threat they were worried about. Whoever is against me shall get beat down. Whoever is with me fights with me. Help the people who you know need to get out as much as you do. I will help you in your fight every step of the way. So if you're angry and tired and being forced into this life use your strength for good and fight your damn battle don’t give in. Alicia and I said yeah I like your speech. 

Afterwards we start going to the places the top men would be. We take them down one by one. Hopefully the broadcast if it works creates some chaos and will make it easier to go after those men. We will arrest them and expose them and their crimes to the people. Then we will declare war on human experimentation. If anyone dabbles in it. They will be beaten down and imprisoned for the rest of their lives. We will free all the people who were experimented on. She said yup that’s what I want. 

I said well kid that is wishful thinking. We may all have to kill at some point. It may be unavoidable this is a war. We will try our best. But we have to be prepared for the worst case as well. She laughed and said well the worst case won’t happen with me there. I’m strong enough. I said wishful thinking. I love you but you are not a god and I flipped her off the chair and had a knife to her throat and it cut her slightly. I didn’t put any more pressure. But she looked terrified. 

She pushed away the blade with her mind after she got a grip of herself. But it would have been way too late she would have been dead. She said what the hell and Alicia full on punched me. I said to Talia , I'm sorry but you're too cocky. You are one of the strongest people I know. But cockiness is what gets you killed. If people team up on you and come after you at the same time. If someone takes you off guard you’d be dead in a moment before your special abilities can save you. She said but I can tell someone’s intent by listening to them. I said could you tell me my intent? She said no I said that’s because when I have to I can hide my intent. I am a trained assassin and know what I’m doing. That’s why I ran away from my father and that life with your mother in hand. But I do it when necessary and you may have to. You are strong but anyone can make mistakes. 

You need help, you're not all powerful and you can have everything the way you want it. If we are doing this fight soon I’m not letting you go into a battle where you're not prepared for what that means. Her neck had healed already and she was glaring like an angry teenager. But she said you're right and said I need a moment. Alicia said why did you have to be so hard on her? I said well you were kind of hard on me too don’t you think? I had a good reason. She is super strong but her own cockiness can be your undoing.

 If she went in expecting everything to go her way she could get herself killed. If she is forced to kill and not prepared for it she may hesitate and die or kill and then become traumatized and unable to finish what she went there for. She has to be prepared for the fact that this may be more than she thought it would be. It may be harder to handle than she thinks. She thinks she has it covered but these people aren’t easy. You can’t just take them down like that, I snapped. She shook her head and said I know that as well as you do. But that was harsh. I said she had to realize that her abilities aren’t always going to work at the moment. That she has to be strong in all ways. She was counting on her ability to hear my heart to determine what my actions would be. But I have learned to mask that when needed quite a long time ago. She is relying heavily on things that won’t always work. She needs to recognize these things so people don’t use it against her. I’m sorry I was harsh. I hated to see the look of fear in her eyes towards me. I would never actually hurt her. So that hurt me as well. 

She came out of the room and said don’t worry dad. I really do get it you can’t mask your heart at all. You had no evil intent, just the intent to teach me. You didn’t want to hurt me. But you're right I shouldn’t rely on those things helping me. I don't think I have it under control. I really don’t know much about these people other than that room and they tried to kill me. Plus it seems like there is more I don’t know about you. I said well I’m glad you're ok, plus I’ll tell you anything you’d like to know. You just haven’t asked. She hugged me and said I always know your intentions are pure but can you not scare me like that again. I chuckled and said no promises and she punched me lightly knowing I was joking. 

The rest of that week we spent preparing. I noticed Talia training harder than ever. She heard my words and actually took them to heart. It showed how truly strong she was. I know I was extremely hard on her. But for what she’s been through she has hardened herself. She can take an insult. But fear gets through to her. It helps her realize she still has more to learn. She can and will win this fight but needs to think realistic and train realistic.

Alicia and I had to quit our jobs in order to prepare and then get going. There wasn’t much prep work needed. All we really needed was the element of surprise and we certainly have that. So after about three days of debating on our plan we decided to head on the road. It was a three day journey. Our first stop was going to be to my former home. Then our next stop would be towards retribution.
