Zannie kept her mouth shut. He was worried that Howie might be true to his threat.
‘Is that a threat? Keep calm Zannie. It looks very anxious. That won't kiss you.’
Her gaze was fixed on Howard's lips. His lips were indeed kissable. But he couldn’t have stolen her first kiss because she reserved it to Jacob.
She suddenly looked away. That was probably the signal for Howard to release her because his grip on both of her hands had loosened.
"You know what? you're an arrogant woman." Howard's seductive eyes narrowed.
Then, Zannie snorted a bit. She got the timing right and she started kicking on his private part which made his knees weak suddenly.
"What the—"
He was succumbing to severe pain. Last thing he knew, he lost consciousness because of the kick he got from this kickass woman.
But Zannie was quite alarmed when she found out that Howard fainted because she kicked him hard. That's why she immediately rushed him to the medical team.

"Zannie, the doctor said, you trampled on his private part too much. If he hadn't been helped right away, he might have died."
Lucille bite her lower lip while looking at Zannie. She was one of the volunteers in Trias and a close friend of Zannie. She helped her because she panicked when Howard fainted.
Zannie on the other hand, looks so scared. She doesn't intend to kill people, it's just self defense. She even thought that Howie was just joking when he collapsed.
‘As far as I know, my kick is not that strong. I'm really sorry Mister.‘
She brushed her face. She even noticed Lucille was shaking.
"Who is that man? Don't you say that he tried to harass you because I really can't believe it."
Zannie sighed. She also clucked her tongue.
"I also don't know who he is. I just found him in my room. Maybe he's really planning to take advantage of me."
"Well to be honest—he doesn't look like a predator. If I didn't have morals, I might lure myself to him," Lucille jokes.
"Even you? Lucille?" Zannie replied annoyingly.
"But maybe he's one of the new volunteers, maybe Jacob knows him? By the way, where is Jacob?"
"It's busy for sure. But wait—"
She thought for a moment. She recalled Jacob saying that someone would be picked up to undergo the evaluation. Could it be that the man she hurt and what Jacob refers to is the same person?
She bit her index finger while grinning apologetically. "My God, maybe that’s the person he’s talking about. My bad."
"What are you talking about?" Lucille whispered while asking.
Zannie shook her head. "Oh no. It's very embarrassing!"
"What's embarrassing?" her friend asked again, confused by her shocked reaction.
"Oh? There you are Jacob!"
Zannie was alarmed by what Lucille said, her man of her dreams is coming. Her eyes immediately searched for Jacob. Yes, he walked faster as he approached them.
"Zannie, I heard what happened. What's wrong with Mr. Howard?" Jacob asked in surprise.
She gobbled, looking at him seriously.
‘Turn off—what you did is a great turn off, Zannie.’
"Y-you know him?" she asked Jacob. The young man nodded softly.
"He's the one I'm referring to Zannie. You're going to evaluate him. I talked to his dad when he arrived yesterday. If we can change him, he's willing to send more help to other NGOs in this place. I guess we need him but here you are, you almost killed him." Jacob looks so upset, terribly upset."I didn't mean to do that. How come that he's in my room?" Zannie asked while shuddering.
Jacob sighed. "It happened already. What a kind of misunderstanding to begin with. All we can do is wait for the doctor’s examination. I hope he's okay."
“I’m very sorry for that, Jacob—”
Jacob simply shook his head. “Instead of apologizing to me, you should be the one to apologize to Mr. Howard.”
Zannie bit her lip for the nth time.

Howie was discharged at the clinic where he was brought. All he knew was that he was still raging with anger because of the woman he dubbed as ‘Killer Woman’. He did not think that a rare tiger was hiding in her sweet innocent face.
This adds to the reasons why his ‘supposedly’ vacation in Trias was annoying. A nurse guided him while walking outside. He saw the man who greeted him at the airport. He couldn't even remember his name.
"Mr. Howard, sorry for what happened."
It was Jacob who apologized even though it wasn't his fault. He was embarrassed, knowing that Mr. Fontabella lent a helping hand to people affected by the crisis before his son went here. Somehow, he should still make sure that he will be just as well despite the rudeness of the behavior.
"I'm sorry? I'm about to die. If I die, you’re just going to say sorry?" Howard asked sarcastically. The man in front of him should know how much pain it hurts to hit the genitals. They are both men. Period.
"It won't happen next time. It's my fault too. I forgot to say it's forbidden to enter another room because not everyone there is a man," Jacob explained.
Howard nodded. "Is that a woman? In fairness, her strength could match the strength of every martial artist."
"Please Mr. Howard, don't scold Zannie anymore. She'll also feel sorry for you."
"Zannie? That’s the name of a ‘killer woman’?"
"She's not what you think. She's kind. She's just scared because she's not used to seeing men."
"Man hater?"
"Maybe. All right Mr. Howard, get in the armored car." Jacob even pointed to the vehicle in question. Howard just winced at what he saw. "In that vehicle? Seriously? As far as I know, the users of that are just soldiers."
"The colonel gave me the privilege to use it temporarily. There are some weapons that will be needed."
Howard's eyes widened because of a sudden mixed emotion that he felt. First of all, amusement because it was the first time he would experience riding in that kind of vehicle. Second, fear because of the weapon loaded with that vehicle. He suddenly wondered what Jacob's job really was.
"Wait, are you a soldier?" he asked.
Jacob showed a sly smile. "Aspiring."
"Like that? I think you can pass anyway."
"I hope so."
"How about Zannie? What’s her profession?"
"She's a volunteer. We've been friends before."
Howard nodded. "That's why when you speak, it's like you already know her and even defended her."
"Yeah, but despite her attitude, she's having a crush on a particular man here in the camp," Jacob revealed.
"A woman like her is still having a crush?" He was quite amused by Jacob's answer.
"Come on Mr. Howard. Get in the car. Can you do it quickly?" Jacob suddenly asked so that the conversation about Zannie would not spread further.
Howard nodded.
As soon as Howie opened the car, he was shocked to see what was in the driver's seat. He was still hesitant whether to ride or not. The driver is none other than the woman he cursed and detested for what he suffered earlier. She’s none other than Zannie.
“Hey? You? Are you really the driver in this car?” Howard asked out of confusion.
“Who else do you expect aside from Jacob?”
Howard was stuttered at that moment. Indeed, Zannie’s personality was kinda intimidating.
"Why aren’t you moving? Are you waiting for Christmas to arrive?" If Zannie hadn't spoken, Howard probably wouldn't have gone back in time. He could not believe that this woman could drive. She unintentionally impressed him. On the other hand, he couldn't help but worry. He strongly believes that a man can do better than a woman. It’s not cool for a woman doing men’s work. And he was still very worried that he might be ruined again when he was with her. Maybe Zannie's anger at him hasn't subsided yet. "Aren't you going to drive?" Howard asked Jacob. "I can't go back to the barracks so only you and Zannie will ride in that armored car." "Really? Is she a professi
"The temporary class is scheduled for the next day. I have to be early."Zannie was still relaxed and looked around her room. She was loaded with tasks, her eyes suddenly fixed on a brown envelope that Jacob had given her."Of course. It's another one."She looked at the paper contained in the envelope.'Evaluation sheet of Mr. Howard Fontabella, CEO of SLI.'She raised an eyebrow at the read header of the evaluation sheet. "He's not lying. In fairness."She read other written guidelines for evaluation. There are some things that Howard should be asked to do when his attitude is tested in another field as an ordinary em
Zannie is holding some textbooks that she will use to teach children affected by the war in Trias. He took a deep breath then turned to Ms. Aida, a teacher who assists in her teaching. He could not have been assigned to do this but there is a real shortage of teachers in the area because most have left Trias to avoid the war, while others have been assisted in other relief operations in other evacuation centers. The class will be held in the small space behind the covered court that served as an evacuation center. "It looks like a classroom somehow, doesn't it?" Zannie asked Ms. Aida. She just smiled at her because the visual aids she was watching to teach a history subject grabbed her attention. "Thank you Ms. Zannie, it's great that you made your visual aids. It's like the work of a legitimate teacher. The setup looks like a cl
"Did you grasp the lesson?"When Howard asked the question, all of the kids nodded. He explained the lesson to the children for more than thirty minutes. It was even more enjoyable than presenting business projects and proposals when he was still employed. He seemed to enjoy what he was doing."I hope you'll be our teacher forever."When the boy in the background said something, his ears clapped. He smiled because he had never heard a compliment like this before when presenting in front of big bosses in various companies. He's finally demonstrated that a compliment from a child is more genuine. When they praise someone, they are not lying, and they are more grateful."Sure," he replied. He saw Zannie frowning so he approached her."What can you say about my teaching skills?" he whispered. Zannie just averted her eyes and left again. Howard suddenly fell silent. At this time, why is Zannie acting like that?"My advice is, you have to be good at speaking so that your crush Jacob will no
Zannie walked slowly into the living room. Howard offered her a piggyback ride because she could no longer when she stumbled because of her shoelace earlier. But on the other hand, she is still annoyed with Howard for saying that she's not pretty enough to show a stern attitude, and even said that she won't ruin the reputation that is best kept just for him. That had an impact and it was like a broken plaque repeated in her mind. The wind blew her away and she looked in the mirror. She slapped both cheeks for thinking such things. She couldn’t fathom the impact of Howard's presence and his sudden mood change. It turns out that the scent of him also lingered on her clothes because he had been on a piggyback ride before. ‘This is strange for me. Why am I feeling something that makes me thrilled?’Why so? Does she feel the thrill that she should just have only for Jacob? That thought made her lose concentration. Damn, that man is invading her whole system. Until now, she admitted she qu
Zannie and her fellow volunteers overcame the busyness of the soldiers in the training camp. Her eyes immediately searched for Jacob and her superior to turnover first aid kits and food supplies that the soldiers would need at any time. There is no alarming scenario yet. She also prayed that the opponents would not threaten again and destroy the town."Is there no one to assist us here? Where is the head of operations?"Zannie's thoughts vanished like a bubble because of Howard's question. She noticed that everything seems new to Howard based on his gaze while wandering around. Zannie can't get if Howard is just clueless or acting ignorant."You didn't see anyone to meet us, so obviously, there's nothing." Here she is with her demeanor. It looks like the petty quarrel is starting again. He couldn't say Zannie could be allergic to handsome guys because when it comes to Jacob, she looks like a gentle kitten and she only gives that man her smile, but when it comes to him, Zannie's mood q
"Come on guys! Let's have dinner together. It's such a tiring day. Let's call it a wrap."Quickly, Howard approached Lucille's place to have dinner. Earlier his stomach was churning due to hunger. Normally, he can't allow himself to feel hungry even if he's working in his office. The few boxes of rice he carried to the soldiers' camp were really exhausting to him. Honestly, he was pressured as Zannie was consistently nagging him. Clueless, he glanced at the girl and guided himself closer to her."Do you have a problem?" he asked in a whisper."Courage, you'll just eat and you won't even help even if I told you to." Annoyance registers on her beautiful face. Howard also heard a hissing sound from her.Their eyes met once again. She dared not to look at Howard's attractive eyes but it seemed like someone on her inner side was begging her to look at Howard for a long time—even about five more seconds. All she knew was that she had been grabbing rice from the big pot before as she was bu
It seems that Zannie will not be put to sleep by the loud giggles of her peers because of their conversation outside the barracks. She knew right away that the female volunteers were just happy because Howard was there. She covered her ears with a pillow but the voices of the people outside could still be heard.“They're so shallow for relying their mood on a handsome man that they're talking to,” she bemoaned and switched her position while still laying down on the bed.A few minutes later, she overheard another word from her colleague outside. “We really can't imagine a handsome man like you, going to this place and volunteering. Tell me more about you.”She hissed upon hearing that.Alodia said that to Howad, one of the younger volunteers who always had a crush on handsome rescuers and soldiers in Trias. Then, she seemed to have an urge to listen to their conversation. After all, she couldn't sleep because of their noises. She guided herself to the wall to better hear the conversa
