The morning sun filtered through the tall windows of Brenton Lavida Tower, casting a golden glow across Damon’s penthouse. Sarah was already awake, sitting at the marble kitchen island with a steaming cup of coffee in her hands. The aroma was comforting but couldn’t quite calm the nerves twisting inside her.

Her mind raced with the events of the previous day — the signing of the contract, the public display, and the fragile alliance she had forged with Damon. It felt surreal, like stepping into a world far beyond anything she had ever known.

Footsteps approached, steady and familiar.

“Morning,” Damon said, leaning against the kitchen doorway. His expression was unreadable, the usual guardedness flickering in his dark eyes.
