View More"Mr Draven, you've got a board meeting by 1 p.m." A tall, blonde secretary said. Damon Draven, who had been sitting with his back towards her, turned and faced her.
"Oh got it, Lou," Damon said and went back to working on his laptop.
Damon stared at his computer and typed away. Being a businessman who knew nothing, but business wealth, and riches, Damon had no friends. It was difficult to see him around people.
Damon Draven was one of the richest billionaires in Brooklyn and one of the Top ten richest young men in the whole of America.
The name Damon Draven brought people to their knees wherever they heard it, especially in the business world. At age 29, Damon was known as one of the toughest and strictest businessmen, and he was the youngest to receive the Business Man award of the year at age 25.
"Mr Damon, a Miss Betty is here to see you," Lou said as she peeped through his door and Damon looked up at her.
"Let her in." He said and Lou nodded.
Betty strolled into the office, chewing bubble gum while flaunting her eyelashes.
"To what do I owe this unwanted visit?" Damon asked, not looking up at all.
"Oh come on Damon, don't be like that," Betty said and sat across him. She crossed her legs and Damon looked up at her.
"What do you want, Bet?" Damon said dropped his pen, and reclined in his chair.
"I came to see you, Damon. Isn't it obvious?" Betty said and Damon rolled his eyes.
"Last I checked, you and I only had a one-night stand so I don't understand what you want from me," Damon said and Betty giggled.
"That's the point. I know it was just a one-night stand, but I can't seem to stop wanting you." Betty said and Damon erupted into a loud laughter.
"Betty. Listen up. I don't do relationships. Never. And even if I wanted to have a relationship, it wouldn't be a random whore I picked from the street." Damon said and Betty's face folded into a frown. "I'm not interested in you, will never be interested in you. Just so you know. Now if you don't have any more to say, get out of my office. Damon said and Betty's face became red with anger.
Betty said nothing and walked out of the office quietly. Damon went back to work and then he checked the time and saw it was time for Lunch.
"Oh shit, I'm starving." He said, and at that very moment, Lucas, his best friend and Legal adviser, strolled in.
"If it isn't Playboy Lucas," Damon said dryly and Lucas chuckled.
"Look who is talking'. I heard Betty showed up here at the office." Lucas said and Damon rolled his eyes and relaxed his back in the chair.
"Oh please, Lucas. Do not bring up that girl's name right now. The thought of it is making me angry." Damon said and Lucas laughed.
"What did she say?" Lucas asked.
"She said that she knows that it was just a one-night stand, but she wants more. More? I know she's looking for a way to attach herself to me, because of my status and riches. Damon said and Lucas chuckled.
"I told you, that girl was sick in the head. Did you listen to me? Your horniness was leading you and now you've gotten yourself entangled with a crazy bitch." Lucas said and Damon groaned.
"Oh stop already. I can't take any more of this Betty talk. Let's go grab a coffee, yeah?" Damon said and Lucas smiled.
"Yeah, sure."
You might be wondering, why would he go out to get his own coffee?
Damon's coffee had been poisoned two years ago, by his secretary, But that couldn't stop him from drinking coffee, so he decided to go get his coffee himself.
"I heard there's a new coffee place around," Lucas said and Damon looked at him.
"Where?" Damon asked.
"Down the road. Just three blocks away ". Lucas said. "They've got really good coffee, and their waitresses are fucking pretty," Lucas said with a wink and Damon sighed.
"Fucking pervert," Damon muttered with a low chuckle and Lucas laughed.
Walking down the streets, the sounds of cameras clicking and camera lights flashing were heard. It wasn't an uncommon thing for Damon to be seen walking around the area, but every time it happened it was always something that ladies present looked forward to. Damon was an international celebrity, it would be strange if nobody took his pictures when he was taking a walk.
Damon and Lucas arrived at the coffee shop. They sat down and Damon looked around.
"Oh look, they've got baked foods. I guess we would be having lunch here after all." Lucas said and Damon said nothing.
Damon didn't say anything throughout, if anything he was trying to exhibit some coldness.
Suddenly, a girl dashed into the restaurant.
"Hey Sarah, you're late. Again." One of the waitresses said.
"I know, I know. I had to go pick Alex up from preschool and keep him with a friend while I came to work. I'm sorry. It won't happen again." The girl named Sarah said. Damon stared at her. She looked familiar for some reason, but he just couldn't place his finger on it. He looked away as she came towards their table.
"Good afternoon. I'm sorry for the slight delay." Sarah said and brandished a perfect smile. "What would you like to order?" She said and Lucas looked at Damon.
"We would like two cups of Americano's, Not iced. And some glazed doughnuts." Lucas said and Sarah nodded.
"Alright, Coming right up," Sarah said with a small smile and walked away.
"Dude, you've been staring at her for some minutes. You're interested in her?" Lucas asked and Damon stared at him.
"You think I'm you who goes after every darned thing in a skirt?" Damon said and Lucas laughed.
"hey, is there anything like a good playboy, or bad playboy? Play boys are the same, bro, and you my man, are also a play boy." Lucas said and Damon laughed.
Sarah appeared with a tray with two cups of coffee and two plates of mini glazed doughnuts.
"Bon appetite." She said and walked away with a small smile.
Lucas's phone started to ring and he picked it up.
"Yes, Lucas Ferdinand speaking," Lucas said.
"What?!" Lucas said in shock. "We'll return to the office in a few minutes," Lucas said and ended the call.
"Why, what's the problem?" Damon asked and Lucas stared at him.
"Betty, just fell to her death, from the last floor of the building," Lucas said and Damon dropped his cup.
"What?!"
Sunlight spilled across the penthouse, warm and golden, illuminating a space that had once been the epicenter of danger but now felt like a sanctuary. Damon stood by the balcony, arms crossed loosely, watching the city wake beneath him. The skyline glimmered like diamonds in the morning light, a stark contrast to the shadows that had once haunted every corner of their lives.Sarah appeared beside him, barefoot and smiling, her hair cascading softly over her shoulders. She rested a hand on her slightly rounded belly, the first subtle sign of the twins growing inside her. Damon turned, eyes lighting up, and pulled her close, pressing a gentle kiss to her temple.“Can you believe this?” he murmured. “All of it… over. Finally.”Sarah leaned against him, letting the morning sun warm her face. “I know,” she said softly. “And look at us. Safe. Together. Alex is happy, we’re happy… and soon, our girls will be here. I never thought I’d feel this kind of peace again.”Alex’s laughter rang out fr
The first light of dawn filtered through the penthouse windows, casting a warm glow across the room. Damon stirred, still wrapped in the lingering warmth of Sarah’s body, the sheets tangled around them in the aftermath of another night together. The events of the past weeks, months, and years seemed almost surreal. The betrayals, the threats, the dangers—all of it had been overcome.Sarah shifted beside him, her head resting lightly on his chest. Her fingers traced idle patterns over his skin, a gentle, intimate rhythm that reminded Damon how fragile and beautiful the quiet moments could be. He pressed a soft kiss to her temple, inhaling her familiar scent. “Morning,” he murmured, voice thick with sleep and desire.“Morning,” she whispered back, smiling. Her eyes held a mixture of contentment, relief, and something else, a quiet intensity that made Damon’s pulse quicken. “We’ve survived everything, Damon.”“And we’ll survive everything else, together,” he replied, wrapping his arms aro
The courthouse was alive with quiet murmurs and the clicking of cameras as Damon, Sarah, and Alex entered, their presence drawing both attention and respect. The months of relentless danger, betrayal, and false accusations had led them to this very day, the day justice would finally be delivered.Damon’s eyes scanned the room and locked on Katrina Andre, sitting rigidly in handcuffs, her face a mask of fury and disbelief. Lucas Adams, too, appeared subdued but defiant, his betrayal laid bare for all to see. Damon’s jaw tightened. There had been no place for doubt—the evidence, painstakingly collected, left no room for excuses.Sarah’s hand brushed against Damon’s, fingers lacing with his as if to ground him. The memory of the night they had shared together—the release, the closeness, the intimacy—gave him a calm strength. He squeezed her hand briefly, a silent acknowledgment of the bond that had carried them through every threat. The prosecutor rose, commanding attention. “Your Honor,
The city below was quiet for once, bathed in the soft glow of the morning sun. The events of the past weeks — the threats, the attacks, the near misses — had left scars, but inside the Draven penthouse, a rare peace settled. Damon and Sarah moved through the rooms slowly, savoring the stillness that had been impossible for so long.Alex ran ahead, his small feet tapping across the polished floors as he inspected the newly decorated living area. “Mommy, Daddy, it’s like a castle now!” he exclaimed, twirling in excitement.Sarah laughed, picking him up and spinning him gently. “It is, Alex. But it’s more than that. It’s our home, safe and ours. And we’ll keep it that way.”Damon’s gaze softened as he watched them. The weight of the past months — the constant threats from Katrina, the relentless planning, the sleepless nights — seemed to lift, if only for a moment. He crossed the room, sliding an arm around Sarah’s waist, pulling her close.“We did it,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to her
