Mara's POV

I help my head limply Against the strong barricades of the dungeon. According to my thoughts that were already collapsing, I was supposed to be freed from this hellish place.

Still, there was no sign of any guards walking over, the place was as empty as the pyre of the slaves, only the flamy streaks of light that dared to make a sound.

What if Alpha Zeev had forgotten about me here, I couldn't imagine rotting away in this place, my head throbbed with inexplicable pain at the thought of it.

The harsh footsteps of a guard walked towards me giving me a slight hope of freedom. As lunch would have it, the dangling keys of the lock flashed across my eyes making me sigh in relief.

The door opened and I gestured to walk out, not even being offered a word of comfort.
