Chapter fifteen

Katherine’s POV

Ethan just blew smoke up my ass.

He didn't change, at least not in the direction I wanted him to.

He took a turn for the worse.

Now he rarely comes home. If he did, he was drunk, pissed off, or downright hostile.

The first few times I'd done what any other mate would do, try to talk to him to calm him down but after I got knocked on my ass twice, I didn't need to be told not to help again.

Now, I made sure to stay out of his way burying myself in work and any other thing I could lay my hands on.

I also invested my time with Roy in an attempt to make him forget the ass of a man that pretended to be his father.

By some unspoken agreement, we both agreed not to talk about him or act as if Ethan didn't exist, or even if we had to acknowledge him, we skirted around the recent developments.

I would have been content living my life this way if I didn't stumble on what I did last night.

I went into Ethan's office which he rarely used nowadays and was always under lock and key
