Mag-log inCLEO
A sudden yank on my hair jolted me awake. I was dragged by my hair and thrown off the bed. My body hit the carpeted floor, but it didn’t cushion the fall at all. I hissed in pain as I landed on my shoulder. My mind was still foggy from sleep, but the pain quickly pulled me into reality.
“Who the heck are you, and what is an omega doing in my bed?!”
The furious voice above me rang in my ears. I lifted my gaze at the woman who suddenly dragged me awake. She was beautiful and regal in every sense, wearing elegant clothing that embraced her curves.
Her eyes, full of anger, were enough for me to know that I was in danger. I tried running away, but my heat kept my body weak.
She grabbed me by my wrist and forced me to stand. Her eyes showed realization in an instant, and her mind was probably piecing two and two together.
“You slut. How dare you seduce the king?!”
“I-I don’t...” I tried to reason out, but didn’t really know what to say. I don’t even know why-
My own thoughts were pushed by a huge realization. His actions yesterday finally clicked.
Of course, the Alpha King already had a queen by his side.. I was a fool to think the warmth and safety I felt in his arms were genuine. It was just brought by the bond, and even if it was real, he wasn’t mine to hold.
He could never be mine because he already belongs to someone else... and he was definitely better off without me.
The shame hit me in waves. This woman must be his wife. His Luna. She wouldn’t be this angry if she weren’t, and she had every right to be.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” I tried explaining, but I couldn’t find the right words. I’d feel the same if I were in her situation.
Alpha Solan shouldn’t have helped me in the first place...
She was about to yell at me again when the door opened, revealing the man who was the reason behind the argument. Her hold on me loosened, and before I knew it, I was pulled away from her. This time, I landed in his arms.
Solan.
His scent immediately enveloped me, making me realize I had landed against his bare chest. My best guess was that he had just shifted back because he sensed his wife’s arrival.
“What do you think you’re doing, Vera?” he warned, obviously furious but trying to restrain himself. Now that I have a clear mind, I can feel his emotions through our bond. It was almost overwhelming, yet it didn’t feel bad.
The woman he called Vera looked at him in pure disbelief. “What am I doing?” she repeated his question, her voice shaking in anger, “That woman is in our bed. I was just gone for a few days, and you’re already bringing another woman here? You even brought her to our room. Have you had no respect for me at all?”
Solan’s arms tightened around me. “She’s not just some woman, Vera. Watch your mouth.”
Vera looked at him with pure betrayal in her eyes, “I’m your mate, Alpha. How can you say that?”
“No, Vera,” Solan said coldly. “You were chosen to be my Luna. That does not make you my mate. You never were and you’ll never be.”
My heart sank as I heard his cold remark, guilt already eating me alive. She hurt me, but her reaction was only appropriate to the situation.
Vera’s face twisted in anger. Her eyes filled with tears, but she gracefully swallowed her vulnerability. “So you found a plaything while I was away and decided she would be your current obsession. Above everything, it’s a filthy omega who probably slept with more men than she could count with her tiny brain-”
Solan’s snarl cut her off. It sent a shiver down my spine. I never expected this to happen, nor did I want to ruin anyone’s relationship.
“You will watch your tongue,” Solan growled at her, using his authoritative voice.
Vera couldn’t take it anymore. Tears dropped on her cheeks as she looked at him with pain in her eyes.
“Is this because I cannot give you a child? I’ve been by your side for three whole years. I’m trying my best...” she trailed off, losing confidence, but her expression darkened again when her gaze darted at me.
She wiped her tears and quickly composed herself. “I can’t accept this.”
I wanted to bury myself in some hole and disappear forever from shame, but Solan’s hold on me didn’t waver.
“Cleo is my fated mate,” he revealed ever so casually, surprising Vera and me equally.
I wasn’t expecting him to tell the truth. He could have told her exactly what she thought of me, a random omega he had taken a liking to and spent a night with, and he could go about his day.
Why did he tell the truth?!
Vera let out a bitter laugh. “So that’s it? You’re going to throw everything for that woman? No one would accept an omega for a queen.”
I bit my lip. It shouldn’t hurt me as much. She was right. Even if Alpha Solan accepted me, no one else would. They’ll never see, let alone respect, someone like me as their Luna. But it still hurt being slapped with the truth. I’ve never hated being an omega as much as now.
I glanced at Solan when he couldn’t answer. Obviously, he knew that Vera was correct about her remark.
“You were never meant to be by my side,” he spat after a moment, still glaring at Vera, “You knew that from the beginning.”
I see pain in her eyes, but she didn’t back down. “But I am, so deal with it. I won’t accept this. Not now, not ever. No omega will replace me. I am, and will forever be, your queen.”
CLEOMy heart skipped a beat after Theodore’s remark, and a thousand thoughts ran through my mind all at once.I led him inside, still a little skeptical. “Did the king send you? Does he have a message for me?” I asked as we sat on the couch facing each other. His eyes widened in alarm. “Oh, no. It’s not that, Cleo. I’m sorry for the misunderstanding. I guess I approached you like I was about to reveal some big secret, didn’t I?” He scratched the back of his head, looking both worried and sheepish. The tension in my chest eased in an instant, though disappointment immediately replaced it. For a moment, I honestly thought Alpha Solan had sent him. I didn’t even know why my mind went there so quickly. Maybe I was just too eager for any sign of him, especially since I hadn’t heard from him for days, or perhaps the constant talk about the pack’s politics had gotten into my head
CLEO“Not bad,” Isabel commented after entering the room I now use as an art studio. My shoulders jolted in surprise, and I almost messed up the painting I had been working on for days. I was too focused that I didn’t even notice her arrival.Isabel’s eyes widened. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you. I thought you noticed me. I even knocked.”I put down the paintbrush and waved my hands slightly. “It’s alright. It’s on me. I was just too focused, I guess.”“You’re doing well, especially for a beginner,” she inched closer and tilted her head a bit.I chuckled awkwardly, “I’m cooped up in this place. I have lots of time to practice. Hey, at least you didn’t have to scold me for trying to do all the house chores before you.” I joked, trying to shift the topic as I feel a little shy.“I suppose that&
CLEO“Thank you,” I said after the doctor finished with my checkup. She simply smiled and promptly left after gathering her things. “If you feel anything, anything odd at all, do not hesitate to inform Isabel. I’ll be back next week to check back on you, okay?”I nodded, “Yes, I’ll make sure to say if I feel anything out of the ordinary.”The doctor seemed excited when she came in here. Alpha Solan definitely sent her as she already knew what had happened. I guess the pack is really looking forward to the king’s heir. From what I know, Luna Vera has been by Alpha Solan’s side for three years now, but they still failed to conceive.A part of me genuinely feels sorry for Vera. Despite her harsh attitude, she looked genuinely hurt when she saw me with Solan, and she seemed to have really done her best to be his wife and the queen alongside the Alpha King. It&rsqu
CLEOAlpha Solan had already left by morning, promising me that he’d visit me very soon. I wasn’t exactly clinging to it so much, only because I didn’t want to hope so much, only to get hurt in the end.Still, I put on a smile till he left the room. I wanted to see him off, but he said I shouldn’t walk around yet, so I could only say goodbye while in bed.My stream of thoughts was cut when I heard soft knocks from outside. I was already decent, so I quickly let her in, knowing it was Isabel. She entered slowly, checking on me first before coming in carrying a tray of food. My stomach reacted quickly to the smell of the hearty meal.“Thank you,” I said with gratitude and started eating. I’ve never felt this hungry before. I took a spoonful of rice and ate with gusto.“Good Goddess, slow down, Cleo. You might upset your stomach.” She warned me, making me halt and blush.I p
CLEO I woke up with my body aching and heat still pulsing to my core. Alpha Solan hummed to my side, probably sensing that I was already awake. He slowly pulled me close to his embrace, eyes still closed, but still taking care of me.My face flushed, realizing neither of us was wearing anything underneath the sheets. Along with the realization are the memories of the moments we have shared, passionate kisses and touches, words we could only say to one another at stolen times like this.“Do you feel better?” He asked, murmuring on my neck and inhaling my scent.I bit my lip when he started lightly nipping. Of course, it wasn’t enough to initiate the marking, but it was still enough to send shivers down the spine. “I-I feel better now, Alpha. How long did I sleep?” I asked, still a little groggy. I’m pretty sure I haven’t remembered everything, as there were times the heat had been so intense that I lost myself in it. “Three hours, more or less,” He muttered. My eyes widened. I didn’
CLEOTrue to the King’s words, art materials and other things filled the house the next day. Isabel was puzzled as she watched people bring more stuff into the empty room. Her gaze darted at me, holding on to her questions until the people were done placing all the things in the available room, which, apparently, is now the art room slash library, as they have also brought a lot of books and even set up a nice shelf for them. I entered the room after they had set up everything, both amazed and a little overwhelmed. Alpha Solan really took it seriously, and now I don’t know if I should be thankful or worried that I’ll disappoint him. “That’s a lot of stuff. Did you ask all of this of the king?” Isabel asked as she followed me inside. My face tinted red with her question. “Not exactly. He just learned that I was fond of art and said he’d send me something to start with. I didn’t expect he’d send so many things.”“The late Luna is a great artist. I think the king is glad you relate to
