6. Two hard choices

MIA'S POV

I sat down by the lake again and carefully opened and retrieved the contents of the parcel.

I was able to pull out about two handwritten letters grandfather had written down for me.

I immediately picked up one and got busy reading through it carefully. The content made my eyes feel heavy and cloudy again and it wasn't even three seconds later and I already had tears rolling down my cheeks.

Letter 1,

To my dearest granddaughter, Mia.

"By the time you're reading this, I your precious grandpa wouldn't be a person of this world anymore. I must say I'm proud of the woman you grew up to be. It's been my pleasure to watch you grow up from the little 5 year old to the strong, formidable grown up 23year old lady you're today. Mia sweetheart, your grandpa is super proud of you. I'm so sorry you have to live on without me now. I know it's not going to be easy for you to live in my absence with the rest of our relatives. But you must continue to stand firm and not show weak
