LOGINSilver's POV
“Are you just going to stand there?” He asked, snapping me out of my endless thought cycle. “I'm sorry, I didn't know you were the alpha. I didn't get the news of your father's death,” I said. “You had been away for a while but that doesn't mean you should forget our customs. My father can't be declared dead until after eight months,” “I remember,” I replied. “I am here concerning the debt my father owed. It's crippling our business and our resource is depleting with every payment,” He smiled as he listened, reaching for the whiskey by the side of the table. “None for me please,” I voiced when I noticed he was taking two glasses. He poured in the two glasses regardless and handed one to me. The intimidating aura made me unable to decline as I received it from him. “Tell me Silver, how much do you know about your father’s work?” He asked as he took a sip of his drink. “All of it. His business became part of my soul by the time I was thirteen,” I gave a swift response but judging from the smile on his face, there was more to the question. “Then tell me why his transport company earns more than the rest of his industries?” “He works with international customs, pack agencies, pack militaries in shipping assets,” I answered. “I don't see why all these questions are necessary to my purpose here,” “It is, princess. Everything is related,"he said. “That's how he earned from the transport company. That's why it rules over the other companies,” “No,” He shook his head in denial. “I'm sorry but your father isn't as pure as you paint him. You are taking over the business, it's time you know,” “What are you talking about?” “Your father's transport has a way of passing unique goods through borders without being detected by law and enforcement,” He answered as he tossed a file to me. I couldn't believe him because I knew my father wouldn't do anything illegal. But I was still terrified to open the document he handed to me. “You might want to read that,” He muttered before he gulped down his drink. He sat comfortably and watched me sink into confusion. I opened it and he was right. There was evidence of tampered financial statements to avoid suspicion and photos of signed documents and illegal goods such as silver bullets and weapons. “He… wouldn't…” I stuttered. “He did and my father, who was just as greedy, saw an opportunity. Your father was to ship a thousand tonne of rare yellow wolfsbane and an unknown package for a man I know you are familiar with, Khang,” “Khang?” The file slipped out of my hand. “The Alpha God, Khang. The head of the Alpha Council,” “Thesame,” He replied and I gasped heavily. The situation seemed to be even more complex than I thought. “Your father lost that package and now my family has to pay for it. Hence, your debt,” “The amount is outrageous. I will need time because my family can't bear to keep paying,” I managed to speak amidst my shock. “Do you know what happens to Alphas who defy the Alpha God?” Raid asked with a stern voice and a fierce gaze. “My family will be wiped out from the face of the earth. My father committed suicide and left me with this problem. I never had a choice in the matter,” “I still need time, Alpha Raid,” I urged with a desperate voice. “Time is an element that is against us,” “I understand but there's nothing more to give!” I blurted out of frustration. My tone surprised him as a smile danced on his lips. “I need to strategize a way out, one that will not cause my family to lose its fortune,” “You think you can find a way?” He inquired curiously. “Yes, I know I can,” “I will make you a deal,” He voiced with his void eyes staring directly into mine. “I have a package worth two billion. I want you to deliver it to a client,” “I am not delivering illegal merchandise, I am not my father,” “Then I can't work with you, Miss Salvatore,” He stated clearly. “I need to know you are useful to me in the areas I need,” I was in a tight situation because there was no other way out. “Where is the client?” I asked. “You will deliver the goods to Eclipse pack,” “That's my ex husband’s pack. How do you expect me to get the package in without being noticed,” I reacted. He stood up from the sofa and walked calmly towards me. One of the buttons from his shirt popped as he walked closer, exposing a scar on his chest. “Do you have what it takes?” He asked with a soft voice. His warmth breath went thrills through me as it slapped against my face. “Yes,” I breathed heavily. “Good,” He backed away slowly, leaving me disoriented. “Deliver the package in one piece and get your time. Failure to complete the task, you will have no choice but to submit to me,” “Submit?” “Every single step you take will be my instruction,” He replied with a tricky smile. “Those are my terms. Accept or reject, the choice is yours,” “What choice do I have?” “The package will be sent to your people. Goodluck princess,” He said with a stunning smile. __________ “You must be kidding me!” Jericho blurted furiously after listening to my narration. “Why will you agree to such a deal? It's Raid we are talking about here,” “I didn't have a choice! It was either that or we would have to pay a billion dollars today,” I responded. “I took the logical route,” How sure are you that he will hold his end of the deal? The man is worse than his old man,” “How are you so certain about him?” I asked. “Raid disappeared from the face of the earth for over a decade. Infiltrating and destroying enemy packs from the inside, he is a liar Silver. It's what he does,” “Well this lie will cost him billions of dollars. He won't be gullible to risk it over nothing,” I drew closer to him, sensing how restless he was by the deal. “To make it better, you can accompany the courier,” He narrowed his gaze, “ Do you know what's in the package?” “We don't ask. Apparently that's the rule in the business, we don't ask and we don't check,” “Okay,” He sighed. “I will go meet up with the team now. We will move out in an hour,” I didn't know what awaited us at Eclipse, but it was my family's legacy on the line. __________ It had been six hours since they went radio silence. I was nervous but I knew the route they took in. They weren't supposed to encounter any trouble but I still felt that something was off. “You have a visitor,” Lena announced but my gaze was still fixated out the window. In a second, the intimidating scent filled the air. I immediately knew who it was and by the time I turned, he was standing right behind me with his hand folded behind his back. “Alpha Raid,” I gasped in shock as I cowered backwards till my back was against the wall. “I'm sorry I didn't give you a notice about my visit,” He muttered softly, his expression blank like his gaze. “It's fine. I believe they will be arriving anytime from now,” I said. I took slow breath to calm my nerves but air couldn't go into my lungs. My body quaked as he got even closer, his hand leaning on the wall beside my head. “I didn't come for the package. I came to see you,"he said. “Why?” I managed to utter as he drew even closer, his lips brushing mine delicately. “You intrigue me somehow, triggering a curiosity that I thought never existed,” “I'm an open book,” I stated. He backed away slowly, unsatisfied with my response. “That may be true but there are chapters about you I'm curious to read. Pages I want to open wide,” He voiced in a deep flirtatious drawl that curled around my senses. “This is purely business,” “Are you certain, princess?” He asked and almost immediately my phone vibrated in my pocket. “You might want to get that,” He whispered, his cold stare piercing into my soul. I took out my phone and it was a call from an unknown number. I was sure of who it was, it could only be Jericho. “Are you there yet?” “We were ambushed!” He replied with a heavy tone, panting hard through the call. For the first time, I was outsmarted in a business deal. In shock, I turned to the first person that crossed my mind. “The package is lost! I repeat the package is lost,” “Like I said Silver, you intrigue me,” He stated firmly. “What did you do? Did you sabotage two billion dollars worth of assets just to have me?” I asked, my voice hitching with disbelief. “I would never do such,” He reacted cluelessly. “I will see you around, Silver. Hold on to that phone of yours,” He added as he walked out of the room leaving me in utter confusion.Silver’s POVHe swept me off my feet, carrying me gently in his arms as I succumbed to the intense taste of his lips.My hands wrapped around him, feeling the thrills move through my spine like fluid. The longer it went on, the thirstier I became for more.He lowered me onto the bed, heaving heavily as he took off his unbuttoned shirt. Looking up at such a marvelous creation caused saliva to pool in my mouth; my eyes mapped the area from his chest to his abs, enjoying the view as my gaze drifted lower to the huge bulge visible through his trousers.“Pardon me,” he muttered as he unclipped my trousers. With one swift move, they were off my waist, revealing my wet black panties. I arched my back against the bed, ravishing in the heat pooling beneath my stomach.I shut my eyes, gulping hard when I felt him hover over me. The warmth of his tongue on my neck startled me as I gasped softly for breath. The feeling deepened, his bulge pressing against
Silver's POVWe were all seated around the grand table in the Feign mansion. The elders of the pack were present alongside Natasha.I kept looking at the door, expecting him to walk in, but he didn’t show.“So what am I doing here?” she asked, disrupting the silence. “I already told you I’m backing down from the pack.”“Your word means close to nothing,” Jane responded. “In front of you is a document relinquishing you of all assets if you try to pull an upheaval like that.”“Wrong,” Crator grunted loudly. “I know my sister, and her word actually means nothing.”She paused, smiling mischievously as she read through the document.“So we’re just going to pretend they didn’t betray us?” she said, looking at the elders.“We’re just going to accept him like he didn’t cause the death of my boy?”“Bitch, he’s my boy!” Crator snapped furiously. “Not yours, mine! The only mistake I made was letting him come work under you after
Silver's POV The kiss deepened, his tongue driving into my mouth with an intensity that took my breath away. I melted, succumbing to the kiss, his hand holding my face in place. He pulled back, leaving behind an ecstatic rush that made me flush. “I’m—” he swallowed, falling forward onto me. I was perplexed, watching as he collapsed onto my thighs. He passed out almost immediately, his heart racing in his chest. I guessed he was under the effect of the antidote in his system. I laid back on the bed and allowed him to rest his head on my chest as he slept peacefully. ***** “Silver,” his voice echoed through the darkness of my dream. “I’m coming home… I’m coming back to you.” “Raid?” I reached out to feel him—and I did. I was sure it was him. I could smell and feel him again. I wanted to be excited, but I quickly realized I was dreaming and jolted awake. I opened my eyes. It was already morning. I looked around and realized I was the only one in the room. Kaleb was gone. I chang
Silver's POVA knock on the door alerted me to their presence. One of Crator's men led them in as I walked down the stairs of Rune’s mansion.“Where is she?” Jericho's voice was the first I heard. “Where is my sister?”“Sister?” I replied as I stepped into the hallway. “That's touching, Jericho. I never thought you would ever take me as a sister.”He walked up to me with a fierce look, barely masking his worry. “You dumb… dumb child,” he said as he wrapped his arms around me.“I told you to reach out if anything happened.”“Well, I'm sorry. I didn't get the chance with a serial killer in front of me,” I replied, then turned to the others behind him.“Jane. Beta Algae.”“I would have never forgiven you if you died,” Jane uttered callously. “All my training would have gone to waste. I don't waste students.”“Shut the fuck up,” Jericho snapped sharply. Their bickering made me crack a smile. I thought I might not see that again.Algae walked quietly to my side, his eyes saying what his li
Silver's POV “Did you know he would show up?” Rune asked Crator, who descended the stairs with his axe scraping against the floor beneath it. “Was that why you sent the battalion into the pack for watchout?” He paused, grinning when he reached the last stair. “I had a feeling he wouldn’t be able to stay away. Something about the Salvatore seems to attract him.” “So you lured me,” he spoke, his ominous voice echoing through the woods. “How bold of you, Horizon.” “Don’t!” Crator growled, his eyes blazing with rage. “Don’t call me that name. No one gave me yours, so what do I call you?” “Chronicle,” he replied, turning his focus to me. “It’s good to see you again. You look grown up. Who prompted it? Hope it wasn’t me.” “Chronicle?” Kaleb asked, chuckling softly. “Every time I hear about you, it’s a different name. A man who can’t decide his name doesn’t know who he is.” “I don’t care about the name,” Rune muttered weakly. “He won’t need it in the place I’ll be sending him to.”
Raid’s POVI was worried sick, yet unable to reach her. There was no phone service, and I couldn’t escape the Gurr estate on my own.I stormed into Gaten’s study furiously, desperate to help the ones I loved.“I need to get out of here. You have no reason to hold me.”“You and I know that’s false,” he said, setting down the tea he was sipping. I had met people addicted to smoking and drinking, but never tea. Green sludge that tasted like crap.“You are here because I told young Kaleb to bring you. He made the deal because I foresaw Khang’s move.”“I know all of that,” I heaved, ready to do whatever it took as long as I was getting out.“You told me to be patient and learn, to understand Khang’s motive, but I got nothing. I have researched every single prospect, aspect of the library, and there’s nothing there.”“There’s always something, Raid,” he said calmly, still sipping his addiction.“I gave you knowledge, clarity, and a safe space, but you seek chaos. I have known Argyles to be
