âWhatâs going on? Where am I?â I stuttered with confusion laced in my voice as I stared around the strange room. I tried to figure out my surroundings but it was all blacked out. I couldnât see anything because I was blindfolded.
Panic surged through me as I scented the unfamiliar surroundings. Yet my mind couldnât process what was going on.
âWhatâs happening to me?â I mumbled a grunt in annoyance as I attempted to get on my feet but I ended up falling on my knees and struggling with the agony that set in.
Realization dawned on me that I was tied up. I swallowed hard, trying to make sense of it, yet my mind was all blank. I had no clue what was going on with me. I had no clue where I was.
âWhere am I? Whatâs going on? Why am I being tied up?â A whirlwind of thoughts crossed my mind and fear coiled around my heart as I recalled how I found myself in this situation.
âHello? Is anybody there?â I asked again, but there was no answer. . I was already on the verge of tears, but I didn't let it fall.
âHelp⌠help me.. help me, pleaseâŚâ I begged, my mouth and throat almost dry as tears began to trickle down from my eyes.
âAre you always weak?â A voice asked with so much authority and I tried to figure out who it was, but I couldn't make out who it was because of the blindfold over my eyes.
âWho⌠who are you?â I mumbled with panic. Take off the blindfolds,â I demanded twitching my brows.
âYouâve got some guts for someone I paid a lot for,â He hissed.
I shrieked at his remarks recognizing from the voice who it was. His aura reflected his personality. He was the Alpha no doubt.
âWhat do you want from me?â I questioned in dread as I felt a warm touch on my face.
âYou should be polite as you are now my property! And for your information, nobody questions me!â He snarled in rage.
âProperty? Wait, are you Alpha Alejandro of the Black Hills pack,â I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
âSeems you arenât so clueless,â he said with a chuckle, confirming my assumptions.
Snapping my head in terror, I realized what was occurring. I was in the presence of the Lycan king, Alpha Alejandro of the Black Hills pack.
I swallowed hard as the things I had heard about him flooded my head. I attempted to throw off the fear, but they stuck to my heart fuelling my anxiousness.
I gritted my teeth trying to keep calm but I felt his hands drop on my face and I shook him off, even though I knew that I shouldn't. I could be punished by him.
âMason! Take off her blindfolds.â Alpha Alejandro commanded.
âWho was Mason?â I murmured under my breath, especially as I didnât know there was another person in the room with us.
Cold shivers ran down my spine as I felt Mason hands take off the blindfold and at once, I knew it was the same wolf that caught up with me in the woods when I tried to run away. He was Alpha Alejandro's Beta, his second in command, and was as cruel as his Alpha.
I gulped and flinched away instantly when he was done pulling off the blindfolds. I blinked my eyes, gazing at the surroundings. I was in an empty room, with only Alpha Alejandro and his Beta.
My eyes met that of Alpha Alejandro, causing me to tremble at the most gigantic, and gorgeous man I had ever seen with an air of dominance emanating from him.
âAre you done watching?â He questioned, his voice demanding a response from me.
âMy apologies AlphaâŚ. I didnât intend to,â I stuttered, with my head lowered to the floor like a kid who was being scolded by his mother.
âSo, do you remember why you are here?â He grumbled as he approached me, with a look too hard to understand. I couldn't even tell what it looked like, but whatever it was, I can tell that it wasn't good at all.
I sat perplexed as I observed his movement which was smooth and rapid, faster than any wolf I had ever seen. Within a blink of an eye, he was standing next to me.
âLook up,â he urged. His voice was deep and it sent goosebumps through my entire body.
Pausing for a time, I attempted to pull myself together. My face flushed but with my hair, I was able to cover it.
âLook at me,â he instructed again.
Without any hesitancy this time, I glanced at him. I wouldn't dare to disobey his orders again, to avoid getting punished.
He leaned down and locked his piercing green gaze with mine. I suddenly felt like a prey in his presence. Maybe I was, because Alpha Alejandro is capable of killing me and no one will ever reprimand him.
As an Alpha, he does whatever he wants. My step father won't even care to reprimand him. Instead he would be happy to have finally gotten rid of me.
I was shivering in terror as he lifted his hands. He grabbed my hair combing through it. I couldn't tell why, but I felt a connection to him and I gave in to his touch.
He removed his hands almost quickly, jolting me back to reality.
âAlpha, please, what would I do for you to let me go?â I implored in terror. âMy father told me that our pack has gone against you and the only way you can forgive our pack is if I work as your maid. I promise to do anything at all. Just let me go please. I don't want to work as a maid. Please. I promise to pay up his debt. Please just let me goâ I pleaded.
âWork for me?â He repeated to himself, looking at me for a while before demanding answers from his Beta.
My breath hitched as my heart was pounding. Fear, desire, uncertainty, and all the feelings mingled muddled my head.
âSeems you are clueless, I guess your stepfather did not inform you?â He questioned, aiming his eyes at me.
âInform me about what?â I inquired hesitantly, not sure whether I wanted to know what it was. But I couldn't help it. I wanted to know what it was even though I have this feeling that it wouldn't be something that I'll like.
âThe only job you have here is to give me a pup. That's the only way I can ignore the debt that he owes me, " he answered.
I froze at the time, unable to grasp what he said. Give him a pup? But my stepfather said I have to work as a special maid, his maid.
He never mentioned anything about giving him an heir. He said I had to work as a maid in order for Alpha Alejandro to forgive our pack for his sins.
âYou are my breederâŚ.â He hissed, sliding his fingers across my hair. Oh goodness! I am done for! What have I gotten into?
Tears streamed down my cheeks as I realized that I have been betrayed and lied to. Why do they have to be so cruel to me? Why do they have to hate me so much especially as I haven't done anything to warrant their hatred. All I've ever wanted is for them to love me and cherish me, but all I keep getting is betrayal and disappointment.
âNoâŚ. Please,â I cried, not knowing what else to say or do. I promise to work and pay back all your money. I promise to work every hour of the day if you want, please.â. If it wasn't because I was tied, I would have knelt down and pleaded to him.
The Alpha didn't say anything. He just stood there, calmly staring at me, without uttering a word, but his stare got colder.
I remembered my stepfather stating that the Lycan king was ready to provide a big sum of money for a maid. Oh goodness! He didn't tell me that it was to be a breeder.
âI donât want to be your breeder," I mumbled with tears streaming down my eyes. I can't be a breeder. I can't bear to use my body as a carrier for someone's child. Someone who wasn't even my mate.
âRoxanne!â Alpha Alejandro yelled as he glanced down and straightened himself. âYou have two options. You either be my breeder by choice or by force. You know what that means right?â
âYou don't have a choice,â
ROXANNE The sun was bright as I stood before the mirror. My wedding dress was a simple, elegant white silk that hugged my nine-month-pregnant belly. It felt surreal. A few months ago, I was considered just an ordinary breeder, a walking incubator for the Alpha's child, I was in a dark dungeon, and now, I was preparing to be crowned Luna of the merged packs.I thought about the last few weeks. When I returned to Alejandro, I knew we had work to do. I had gone to him, not just because I missed him, but because I had a goal. I told him about the state of my old pack. Alpha Vanthorn, the man who had seized my fatherâs lands after his death, was ruling with an iron fist. I begged Alejandro to help me take it back.He didn't hesitate. He gathered his strongest warriors, and the siege on Vanthornâs territory was swift. Alejandro didn't want the land for himself; he did it for me. When he finally defeated Vanthorn and handed the keys of the pack back to me, I asked him to merge our packs
Roxanne had made her decision. The moment she regained enough strength to walk, she told Alejandro she was leaving the Pack; she couldn't stay anymore. She was sitting on the edge of the bed when he walked in, his eyes tired and desperate."You aren't going anywhere," Alejandro said, his voice hard but trembling. He stood by the door, his posture defensive. He couldn't bring himself to let her go.He knew she was still mad at him, but he was determined to seek her forgiveness and win her heart and trust back. However, that wouldn't be possible if she left him, and that was the last thing he wanted.âYou can't force me to stay, Alpha. I'm leaving.â"You have enemies, Roxanne. The rogues are still out there, and I have rivals who would love to use you to get to me. I cannot let you walk out of these borders.""I am not your prisoner, Alejandro," Roxanne replied, her voice steady. "I am not a weapon for your enemies, and I am not a trophy for you to guard. I am a woman who needs to brea
Inside the deep darkness of her coma, Roxanne was not resting peacefully. Her mind was trapped in a terrifying, vivid nightmare that felt completely real. She found herself standing in a beautiful green field under a strange, blood-red sky. A little boy, about two years old, with thick dark hair and bright green eyes, was running ahead of her. He was wearing a small white shirt and tiny pants, laughing happily as his tiny feet sprinted across the grass.Roxanne knew instantly, deep in her soul, that this little boy was her son."Wait! Sweetheart, please slow down!" Roxanne called out, running after him. Her legs felt heavy, like she was running through thick mud. Her heart was pounding with a sudden, unexplained fear. "Stop running, the ground is rough! Come back to Mommy!"The little boy didn't stop. He just laughed louder, looking back at her over his shoulder. He was moving too fast, much faster than a normal human toddler. No matter how hard Roxanne pushed her body, the distance
Back inside the Pack House, the silence in the medical wing was louder than any roar.Alpha Alejandro sat on a small wooden stool right next to Roxanne's bed. The room was clean and warm, smelling of medicine and clean linen, but he felt like he was still suffocating in the dungeon. He hadn't slept, he hadn't changed his clothes, and he hadn't washed the dried blood from his hands. He just couldn't leave the broken woman on the bed. His heart was bleeding with a pain he couldn't describe. He looked at his hands; the hands of a leader, the hands that were supposed to protect his people and realized they had been used to destroy his own family.âClara fooled me first, and I let Melissa use that to fool me again,â he thought, his head dropping into his palms. He felt an overwhelming wave of self-hatred. He had prided himself on being smart and strong, but he had been the biggest fool in the entire territory.âYour mother was right all along, Lucien.â His wolf hissed in annoyance. âIf o
Outside the western gates of the Blue Moon Pack, the air was cold and dark. The two rogue mercenaries Melissa had hired were hiding behind a clump of thick bushes just around the corner from the main border line. They had been waiting there for hours, tapping their boots impatiently against the dirt. They didn't tell Melissa they were coming back so soon. They wanted to catch her by surprise so she wouldn't have time to hide the gold or run away."You think she will bring the money?" the second rogue asked, pulling his jacket tighter around his shoulders. "The Alphaâs house has been loud all night. I heard a roar earlier that sounded like the sky was tearing open.""She will bring it if she wants to keep her pretty face," the scar-faced rogue growled. "She knows what we will do if she plays games with us."Suddenly, the heavy iron gates of the pack border creaked open. The rogues quickly ducked lower into the bushes, holding their breath. They expected to see Melissa slipping out in
Alpha Alejandro ran down the dark stone stairs of the dungeon so fast that the guards at the door didn't even have time to bow. His heart was hammering against his ribs like a wild animal trying to break free. The sound of Melissaâs voice from the recording was still looping in his brain, each word cutting into his mind like a hot knife. She fooled me. She fooled me. He thought as he continued his way to the dungeon. Melissa was his first love, the woman who had traveled through hell and back with him during the early days of his leadership. He had trusted her blindly because of their history. He had allowed his old trauma to turn him into a monster, and she had used that exact trauma to handle him like a puppet. He reached the bottom of the stairs and ripped the heavy keys right out of the lead guard's hand. The guard trembled, shrinking back against the wall as Alejandroâs terrifying Alpha aura filled the damp hallway. He shoved the key into the lock of Roxanneâs cell himself and
ROXANNE The sun was out in full force this Saturday, spilling through the high windows of the Pack House and making everything look brighter than it actually felt. I was sitting in the small sunroom, pushing a piece of dry toast around my plate. I wasn't hungry, but Alejandro had already checked
Roxanne's Point Of View âDon't make this hard for all of us, Alejandro. You know we're here for her introduction. Nothing elseâŚâ âThis meeting has been cancelled!â Alpha Alejandro growled. âNow all of you, get out and never show your face here.â âAre you chasing us away, huh?â Alpha Theo hissed
Alejandro's POV I sat in my study, as I stared at the flickering flames in the fireplace. The weight of my decisions pressed heavily on my shoulders. The events of that night, two nights ago, replayed in my mindâRoxanneâs trembling hands, the way her eyes had filled with pain when I rejected h
Roxanne's POVMy body ached, my heart shattered and my wolf, Zoey, whimpered softly within me, as she mourned the rejection that had torn through our bond. I can't tell how long I've been here, but I know that it's been more than two days. I slumped against the rough stone wall, my legs giving o
