A hand grabbed me.

Completely out of nowhere.

Like I was in some reverse motion film, I saw my body pulled up.

And with the accompanied force, I slammed into a wall.

Or maybe not a wall.

Because this wall had a scent.

Musky scent that made my insides tingle.

One that stirred my wolf to life.

“Damon.”

My heart flipped.

But then I remember I was late and he'd be furious.

“I'm sorry…I didn't mean to be late. It's just…I got delayed by something else I couldn't control and–”

“Do you go around sticking your nose in everyone's problems?” He growled.

And no, it wasn't a question.

Wait!

He saw me helping Lisa??

Slowly, I stared up expecting his scowling face.

But his face is…oh my goddess. Soft…calm…striking features gawked at me. No, it was the other way around.

Then his throat moved, as though he was affected by my presence. He looked away, his jaw locking.
