“I Alpha Damon Luther accept you Aria Samuel as my mate,” Damon gritted his acceptance in one sentence and with nothing hatred.
With a clenched jaw, he strode towards me covering the distance between us. And in another quick movement, he leaned into my neck. Feeling a sudden sensation, I was startled and my body instantly responded by attempting to flinch back.
But he caught me, held me and brought me to steady.
“Stay still,” his voice rumbled deep in the scruff of my neck, sending jolts of sensations across me.
I heard his wolf growl and my wolf growled back in response. In a heartbeat, he buried his fang in my neck and marked me.
The silver thread immediately locked, bounding us as mates. My wolf gave a low growl. A growl filled with uncertainty for our future.
It was supposed to be a moment of joy and bliss. It probably would have been, even if it lasted only for a few moments. If Damon didn't just straighten up and walk out of the hall leaving me on the altar in front of everyone.
Like he didn't just claim me as his mate. I had been humiliated many times in my life but this one hit me the most.
Beatrice came to my side in time and I held onto her. Just before I finally gave up the will to stay strong and unfazed, she helped me back to my chambers.
“He's still young. He's only nineteen. He will learn with time,” she tried to comfort me. “You must be strong for yourself and for your wolf.”
Tears rolled down my cheeks in streams.
I couldn't comfort myself let alone my wolf.
I couldn't help it. The pain was unbearable.
Maybe it was because I didn't expect that my most anticipated wedding day would be this humiliating. Or that the boy that I fell in love with two years ago would look at me with eyes that could murder.
He might as well have rejected me. Then I wouldn't have to be in this pain. Then I wouldn't have to scramble for the right words to comfort my wolf.
A knock sounded on the door.
Beatrice looked at me as if to tell me to tuck in my weakness–my tears.
Before she opened the door, I drew the curtains closed.
“Lady Bertha wants her in the Alpha's chamber now,” one of the maids that walked in informed.
“First of all, she's not ‘her’ , she's Luna Aria. And secondly, this is supposed to be her wedding night meaning the Alpha is supposed to come to her chambers…”
Beatrice was saying but was cut short by the scornful snickers of the maids.
“You still haven't come to your senses? She's nothing but a sacrifice offered to save her useless pack. The Alpha does not care about her. So either tell her to meet him in his chambers or forget about getting any cock for herself in this miserable marriage of hers.”
“And if she's lucky, she will only end up becoming one of his whores. Although I doubt she will even make it as one. Not while lady Bertha is alive,” the second maid added. They chuckled, their tone filled with mockery.
Behind the curtains, my fist curled. But before I could react, Beatrice acted.
“Shut your mouth, you both!” Beatrice growled at them.
I chuckled, but sadly. At least someone was defending me.
The two snickered and sashayed off.
“Don't tell me you are obeying her orders?” Beatrice frowned when she came back in and saw me preparing.
“You won't go there. You have no idea what Bertha is planning. She's a witch,” she protested.
I smiled, once again grateful to have her. “There's only much a witch can do. Thanks for looking out for me, Beatrice, but this is my fight.”
She sighed, but nodded. “Yes my luna.”
“You heard them Beatrice. I'm not the Luna yet. You can just keep calling me Lady Aria. Or even better, just Aria is perfect.”
I slipped into a satin long flowing night gown. Then draped a silk white robe over it.
Damon’s Chambers was opposite to my own but in the same wing of the mansion. So it didn't take me long to arrive.
Just before I walked through the main entrance doors, strange sounds coming from the room drifted into my ears. I felt the pit of my stomach knot. My wolf winced. As if she was warning me to either abort mission or brace for the worst.
Dreading the worst, I slowly walked in.
Only to be greeted by a shocking sight.
Damon’s bedroom doors were wide open, moaning sounds filled the air. Seated on a gigantic chair was him, legs spread wide apart and in-between, a girl bent in his crook with his member buried in her mouth.
Two other girls ghosted over him, one caressing his exposed chest and the other nimbling on his ears.
They were moaning loudly and muttering dirty and nasty words. Like when a whore was trying really hard to please their customer.
My wolf growled, furiously. It was the first time she would be reacting this violently ever since the wedding humiliation.
I swallowed painfully, frozen on the spot.
Suddenly, someone breezed past me. It was Bertha.
She stormed into the bedroom.
“Get out all of you!” She growled at the whores, her eyes fiery.
Judging by the way she was in rage, she was as shocked as I was. I bet she had wanted me to walk in on her making out with Damon but got a surprise herself.
As soon as the girls scampered out, she sneered and slammed the door to my face.
As she slammed the door to my face, a sense of rage overtook me. My wolf wriggled to be let out causing my body to vibrate and my eyes glowing.
How dare she! I was the Alpha's wife now and she was only his concubine. I did not deserve anymore of this humiliation!
I stormed towards the door and pushed it open.
The stupid bịxch has taken over from where the whores stopped. I looked at Damon, in the smallest and faintest of hope expecting him to speak up for me.
But his eyes merely narrowed, his forehead furrowing in a thick frown. As if disgusted by my presence alone, he stood up, slipped on his robe and marched out of the room.
It was as if my airflow had been restricted. I couldn't breathe.
Even though I wasn't expecting him to welcome me with wide arms and smiling face, I still didn't expect this from him.
But still…it was our wedding night. It was supposed to be our wedding night and the least he could do after humiliating me in front of everyone was not humiliate me the second time in front of his concubine.
Aria’s POVDamon was right at the corridor as I snuck away to give Xander and Sheila privacy. I didn't see him and almost bumped into him.“Oh my!” I shrieked. But he was quick and caught me in his arms.“Something fun happening over there? Your cheeks are about to burst,” he said, his eyes narrowing suspiciously.I scrunched my nose. “Yeah. Giving the new lovebirds some space.”“What about us? What are we? Old lovebirds?” he asked, his lips curling cockily. “Oh, Damon please—”Wait…What is this smell…My eyes widened, then the realization hit me like a wave. Groans and grunts echoed in the air. Damnit. Sheila and Xander!Turning back to Damon, and a gasp slipped out my mouth…. His eyes had darkened. “I…”I tried to speak. But before I could blink, he leaned in. My breath caught in my throat as his breath brushed my face. “I want to fuck you right now…” he growled, his weight pressing in on me, caging me against the wall. Heat—hot and undeniable—slammed into me.I swallowe
Aria's POV The first thing I did when I woke up the next day was get down on my knees. I remained in the position, listening to the sound of my wolf inside me. She did not growl in fury, nor did she slam hard in my chest because of frustration. Instead, she purred softly, curling up. Peace. Calmness. Was all I felt from her. I breathed in deeply and slowly. “Thank you, dear wolf,” I said. “For always being with me and never going silent on me despite everything.”She whined softly in response. “We are best friends,” she said in a voice very similar to my own. Then I thanked the moon goddess.I thanked her for protecting the pack, for sending me to Damon, for sending Lewis to us, for helping us overcome many trials, troubles and tribulations. After praying, the first place my eyes landed on was Lewis’ sleeping crib. Lewis' crib was empty. “Lewis!” I shot up from the floor at a speed faster than the speed of light. “He's here!” Beatrice's voice called from the sitting ro
Aria's POV “What's the matter, Princess Sheila?” I asked, rushing over to her side. “I have… I have…” she panted. Damon rushed to her side now. Xander and Logan dashed in all of us worried and ready to charge.“You have what? Talk to me, Sheila! Did something happen?!”Sheila looked up, still panting.“Let's go for a girls outing!” she squealed.Silence.I blinked. My brain momentarily stopped thinking. Logan and Damon groaned out a frustrated and disbelieving sigh. Then it hit me. “You!” I growled and turned to smack her.But Xander shielded her.“How could you do this!”Goddess, I wanted to strangle her. “Sowie. I only wanted to suggest something fun and give us a break from the whole sullen mood,” she pouted.“You didn't have to be so dramatic!”“And you Xander, you should be scolding her and not grinning!” I yelled at Xander.“It wasn't that bad. Besides, she is right. We need a little fun now. Don't we.”“A gone man,” I shook my head. Clearly, Princess Sheila had taken
Aria’s POV“Good morning, my Luna,” Beatrice's voice broke into my thoughts. I had just woken up. I stretched and I felt my bones crack. “What's on my schedule today?” I asked, yawning and looking around the room. “Alpha Damon has ordered that you get a complete test today. Everything's been cleared off your schedule for today. And guess what, my Luna?”“What is it again, Beatrice?”As I slid out of the bed, I glanced beside me.The baby crib was empty. No sign of Lewis in the room. “Where’s Lewis?” I asked.Had he crawled outside the mansion again?Something tight lodged in my chest instantly.“Beatrice, you didn't see him on your way in?” I asked, dreading the worst. “No, my Luna. I'll go and check the sitting room.”I rushed outside. My legs suddenly felt too heavy to move. Lewis had once crawled out of the mansion and—Oh dear goddess please…Thinking and imagining it was making my head bang already. “Inform Damon,” I told Beatrice.“The Alpha has gone to the boundary wi
~Aria’s POV~Crack! The door suddenly broke open.Bodies clattered inside with force. Who else? The nosy wolves. I looked at Damon and we both grinned hard seeing the flush in both Xander and Logan’s face. “How could this break? We didn't even push it hard,” Xander muttered, dusting himself. “Really, you didn't? Well the pressure from your nosy weights did,” Damon said, a smirk lit his eyes.“He's back,” Xander chuckled.“Definitely,” Logan added, and before anyone could say Jack, the two flew into his arms for a group hug. I watched them and I felt happiness bloom inside of me. Just then, I noticed a figure hiding behind the wall. Beatrice. “Come in, Beatrice,” I called. But Beatrice didn't bulge. “Did you both quarrel?” Damon asked, facing Logan. “She's just shy,” Logan said, grinning. He then turned towards the door. “Come in, Beatrice. Don't worry, he won't bite,” he said. “He looks like the big bad Alpha wolf but I assure you, he's the softest.”And voila, Beatrice mo
~Damon’s POV~I failed them…I failed Bertha…I failed Emily… I should never have allowed them to die. I should have protected them. They should never have died under my watch… in the same pack I vowed to protect them.God.How could I live… how could I breathe knowing two of my kind I was supposed to protect are dead… and they died in the most horrible manner…The scene lived in my mind… it had not left. It refused to leave. I could not sleep. Could not bring myself to feed. I was weak, helpless, angry at myself. I should have seen it ahead of time and stopped it at all costs. Everyday when my eyes close, I hear Emily's hearty quirky laughs, I hear Bertha's assuring words… and I crumble the more. My regrets can't be undone. Why?Why?Why?I asked myself over and over again. But I couldn't answer why.I thought secluding myself would be enough to answer the many questions in my head, enough to tell me the perfect punishment I deserve for what I'd done…Guilt became my best frien
~Damon~“My Alpha, please have some soup. I had the cooks prepare it carefully for you. It will help you regain your strength,” Bertha said, dropping a plate of soup on my desk. I pushed the plate away, my eyes focused on the new batch of pictures taken by the guards of she-wolves that resembled A
~Aria~I was awoken from sleep by a bad and frightening dream the following day. In the dream, my head was pushed into water, and no matter how much I fought and tried to raise my head, I couldn't. It was as though someone was holding my neck and kept shoving me in and in. I could neither move no
