Chapter 23 Aiden's Past

Third Person's POV

As Abigail talked, Aiden seemed to zone out. Thaddeus saw this and thought maybe it was a lot for him to take in.

He tried to comfort Aiden, by gently rubbing his back, rubbing soothing circles but it seemed to do nothing.

Aiden sat there, quiet, staring off at nothing while he listened to Abigail speak.

But as Aiden sat there he listened to what his sister said. It was hard for Aiden to hear what happened to his people, his family, and his parents.

His heart broke hearing what happened. As she spoke he could almost picture the scene unfolding as if he was there. He was almost glad he didn't have any memory of his family because he knew if he did it would hurt that much more.

After Abigail stopped talking, Aiden finally seemed to snap out of it. He slowly turned his head to look at his sister and spoke in a quiet voice

" W-why don't I r-remember any of this?... W-why don't I remember you?"

"I don't know," Abigail said in a soft voice, looking at her brothe
