Keratin ran as fast as his warrior-legs would carry him. His thoughts which had been scrambled, became clear and centered on just one thing alone. Germaine. The mate bond sang in his veins and the call for protection was too strong for him to ignore.

He tore into the tent where the females were and zeroed in on his mate sleeping soundly. He took some seconds to admire her sleeping form before striding forward.
