Arius just stared at the money in his hands and then looked back up at Mr. Carlson. The man was still grinning from ear to ear. Arius knew he had the wrong idea about his and Jaida's relationship. Her father obviously thought that they were a couple, even though both of them would deny it to no end. They weren't even close, but no matter what either one said to deter him from his thoughts, the older man had his mind set.

Arius just nodded in thanks and then made his way out of the kitchen and back up the stairs. Jaida was now in the living room, and she watched him curiously, wanting to know what he had been talking to her father about.
