Beep Beep Beep.

Ugh, I groaned in annoyance. Why now? I reached for my phone and switched it off, then went back to sleep. Well, I tried to, but then I remembered my mom would be furious if I missed breakfast—apparently, she hates it when people don't follow her rules.

I forced myself to get out of my bed and prepared myself for breakfast, both physically and emotionally. I left my room and went downstairs. I found they had already settled. I ignored the other eyes, looking at me, and sat down on the other side of the table. I was about to start eating when my mom spoke up, completely ruining my appetite. She just had to do this in the morning.

"She finally woke up. I completely forgot you were joining us for breakfast, so I didn't include you," she gave me a bitter smile.

"Oh, okay. I will go get something to eat then," I pushed the plate forward.

"Of course, you go do just that. Apparently, it's the only thing you are good at," she rolled her eyes.

"Not today, Mom. Please, can't we do this tomorrow or something?" I pushed my chair, ready to get up. Then, my dad spoke up. Great, they had to gang up on me again. I looked at my sister, and she's really enjoying this.

"We are going to talk about this. All you've been doing is sleeping, eating, and going out with your stupid friends. Why can't you make yourself useful for once?" his voice laced with anger. If it was any other normal situation, I would have flinched at the tone of his voice, but I guess I can say I got used to it.

"Oh, come on. I won't let you rule my life. All I want is for you to give me a chance to do what I want with my life. I want to live my life with my own choice, that's all," I spoke calmly, careful not to lose my temper.

"Don't you ever call me your mom again. It's Mrs. Williams to you," she rolled her eyes and looked at me again. "I don't know why I had to be cursed with you. Why can't you ever do as you are told and be successful like your siblings?" She sat down, and as usual, her loving husband and her precious children rushed to her. I'm always the bad guy at the end of it all. I left the drama scene and went to my room. I picked out an outfit and took a quick shower.

Sometimes, I wonder how life would have been without them. All they ever do is look down on me. She's never considered me to be her daughter. It would have been better if she had just dumped me at an orphanage or something. My other siblings have always received their love and care, and they still do, while they treat me like trash. The people I'm supposed to call my family are totally rude to me.

I was going to meet Emily. She's the only one who's been by my side—my stupid best friend. I thought I would only be meeting her, but no, I was wrong. She's with her other friends. Don't get me wrong, but it's obvious they don't like me. I've tried to tell Emily about this, and it didn't end so well last time, so for her sake, I tolerate them. I pinched myself when I arrived at the address she sent me. Oh, come on, I have to put up with Charlotte. She's so annoying, but I must say her house is beautiful. Of course, being the daughter of a billionaire, she wants nothing but the best.

I braced myself and knocked on her door. A few minutes later, the brunette came out dressed in a red strapless dress, and her blue eyes glaring at me.

"Oh, it's you," she said in her thick French accent, laced with distaste. "Come in."

She offered me a fake smile. I didn't even bother smiling at her. I rolled my eyes and walked past her. I found the others laughing. Emily saw me and gestured for me to sit next to her. They've been talking for the past one hour, I think about shoes or something. I wasn't really paying attention. I was lost in my thoughts when all of a sudden Kayla squealed in excitement. Ughhh, what now? I rolled my eyes.

"Kayla, what the fuck?" Charlotte asked as she glared at her.

Kayla looked at us with a smile plastered on her face. "Well, you know Alexander Romano, right?"

"Yes, of course, we know him," they said altogether, apart from me, of course.

"Well, my brother is throwing a welcome party for my sister. He invited Alexander, and guess what," she looked at them with a smile plastered on her face.

"He's going to be there, right?" Wendy looked at Kayla for confirmation.

"Yes, he is. I have to start looking for a perfect dress," she clasped her hands together.

"You know he's engaged to Gabriella, right?" as soon as Emily said those words, she glared at her and rolled her eyes. "What a great way to ruin the moment, Emily."

"Oh, come on, ladies. We have to look our best on that day, right? We have to get the most expensive gowns, right, Alexandria?" she smiled at me. I know that Charlotte can be a bitch at times. She's aware of how things are with my parents. They never give me money or their credit cards like they do with my elder brothers and sisters. They all have cars except me, the beloved child.

We left Charlotte's house when they all agreed to go shopping, and Emily offered to drop me off.

"So how's home?" she looked at me and back at the door.

"It's perfectly fine," I smiled at her, but I could tell she was not buying it. A few minutes later, we arrived at their place. I thanked her for the ride and got out. I watched as she drove away.

Is this it I should stop him but what if he's letting me go cause he doesn't love me oh Alexandria you will never know if you don't take the risk just stop him already "Alexander" I yelled. He closed the door and came rushing to me "what happened Alexandria are you hurt?" he asked as he examined my body for any injuries. "No I'm not I don't want you to go I forgave you for what you did okay what really hurt me is that you never bothered to check up on me but now that you are here I don't want you to leave but if you want to its okay you can go" I said all in one breath. He opened his mouth to say something but I beat him to it "I completely understand if you don't want to be with me and you want to be with Elena if she makes you happy then I'm happy too" I glanced at him only to find him smiling. "Why are you smiling I know I sound like a fool but you don't have to be so mean about it forget I said anything you should get going its getting late." He gently held my hand and chuckl

"Grandma, come on, you've helped me enough. I can't take this," I tried to tell her, but I guess she won't listen to me."No, no, sweetheart, this is not enough. Trust me, and besides, this place is good, and that way, I can be assured that you're safe," she glanced around the place."But, grandma, you already helped me set up the restaurant. In fact, you did most of the work," I said with a frown on my face."And that's my work, sweetheart. Now, this is your new house," she said in a cheerful voice. I like this free side of her; she acts like a teenager, a 60-year-old teenager, for that matter. I smiled at that thought."Hey, Gran, your daughter hates me so much, and I thought you hated me too, but surprisingly you love me," I said, only for her to smack on my forehead. "Ouch, what was that for?" I asked her as I rubbed my forehead."That was to knock some sense into your head," she shook her head. "Silly girl, that's my daughter and not me. If she doesn't like you, that's her loss, n

"His only with you because of a business deal that he's about to close. For that to happen, he needs to be married, and that's where you come in."Those words won't stop ringing in my head. I have to stop thinking about it, but how can I when I get to see him every day, and it hurts so much? Hazel insisted we spend the night at their place, which we did. I don't know about Xavier, but I slept in his old room."Good morning, Mom," I told her, earning a wide smile from her that quickly turned into a glare when I got my milkshake from the refrigerator."Okay, okay, I'm putting it back," I said and sat down."Good girl. Let's go have our normal breakfast, and then you can have your ridiculous breakfast," she scrunched up her face as if it was something disgusting."Good morning, Mr. Romano," I told him as I pulled out a chair for me to sit."Good morning, Alexandria, though I prefer you call me Dad. What do you think?" he asked me with a smile on his face."I think it's okay, Dad."I decid

I let out a yawn as I opened my eyes and stretched my body, wondering what time I fell asleep yesterday."I don't know, but you left me hanging last night," he said as he placed the tray on the bedside table. He's here? What is he doing here? "Shouldn't you be at work?" I asked him, noticing he was dressed in a three-piece charcoal grey suit."How can I go to work when my wife is still asleep, hasn't had her breakfast yet, and has an hour and forty-five minutes to prepare for work?" he said with a playful smile on his face.I threw the comforter aside and rushed to the bathroom while he was busy laughing. I fixed my hair one last time and left my room, only to find Alexander standing in the living room with his back to me. I thought he left for work."Why are you still here?" he turned, his eyes roaming down my body."I was waiting for you. Now that you're done, shall we get going?" he asked me as he checked the time on his watch."Why the special treatment all of a sudden?" I crossed

I let out a yawn as I changed into my working attire. It seems Alexander is still upset with me because he hasn't said a word. It's been two days now, but mostly I think it's because he went out on a supposed business trip. I can't say he's lying because I don't know anything about his schedule."Alexandria, can you go check on the customer who just walked in? I really need to pick up this call, it's an emergency," she looked at me, waiting for a reply."Okay, sure," I said softly and left the room to go attend to the customer. Time for me to start smiling."Welcome to Crystal's Boutique," I said with a huge smile on my face. He turned, showing me his perfect smile."Alexandria, I didn't expect to find you here," he said in his husky Spanish accent. Today he was in casual attire, and he really looked handsome."I work here," I told him as I glanced around the place to avoid his intense gaze. His phone rang, ending the awkward silence between us. He picked it up, his eyes on me, "I wil

"I'm so glad the day is finally over," I told my workmate, Stella, as I changed into my clothes."Same here, girl! Can we grab some smoothies or ice cream before we go our separate ways?" she said, giving me her puppy dog eyes."Okayyy, let's go, but let's hurry up cause I have plans, and I can't afford to be late."She squealed in excitement and grabbed my hand."Stella, calm down!" I yelled, hoping I would get her attention. She slowed down and turned to me, "What flavor would you like, sweetheart?"I shook my head, "Vanilla is okay for me."She looked at me in disbelief, "Girl, you just want vanilla? Just vanilla? Argh, you are so boring."I sat down as I waited for her to come back with the ice cream. Can't I come up with an excuse to avoid this? I don't like such events."Here's your boring ice cream," she handed me my vanilla ice cream."Thank you, drama queen," I said, earning a glare. We talked and had fun a bit, and the moment that I was hoping to escape from came sooner than

I dried my hair as I got out of my bathroom. Once I was done, I changed into something more comfortable and relaxing."How was work?" Gina asked me as I walked into the kitchen.I sat down, "It was stressful, tiring, every horrible word you can imagine."She chuckled and handed me a cup of coffee, "Here, have some coffee," she suggested."No, I don't like coffee. Can you please make some hot chocolate, please?"She smiled, a genuine smile on her face, "As you wish, Mrs. Romano," she said, earning a glare from me."Heyyyy, I thought we agreed you wouldn't call me that," I said in a stern tone.We were both lost in our own worlds, laughing and telling each other funny stories and embarrassing ones, but it was ruined when someone cleared their throat."Elena? What is she doing here? Because Alexander is not here.""You, why are you here? Where's Alexander?" she asked in a demanding tone.Is she talking to me? Because I don't think she's talking to me. If she is, there's no need to talk t

"Thank you for shopping at Crystal boutique, and please do come back next time," I told her with a smile on my face. She returned the smile as she took the shopping and gave it to her bodyguard, "thank you. I will surely come back. I'm Clara, by the way.""I'm Alexandria, nice to meet you."She whispered something to her bodyguard and turned her attention to me, "Well, Alexandria, it was nice meeting you. Sadly, I have to get going. I will see you next time I come here."Today must be my lucky day. It is not every day you get to meet such a kind customer. I'm so tired; I can't wait to get home and take a long, relaxing bath because I need one. My body needs it and a body massage."Heyy, Ria, how was your day?" she yelled as she popped out of wherever she was."Stella," I groaned, "you don't have to be so loud, girl. Geez, are you trying to make me deaf?" I whined as I looked at her green eyes. She giggled and sat on the counter, "Oh, I'm sorry, Ria. I didn't mean to be so loud, but th

"Well, nice to meet you, Miss whatever you are, but will you please calm down and stop yelling?" I glanced at Gina, who just shrugged her shoulders. She walked towards me, her green orbs glaring at me, "Who the hell are you?"I maintained my posture. I won't let her intimidate me. "I should be asking you that?""I'm Alexander's fiancée, honey." She showed me her engagement ring. "We are getting married, so you better get the hell out of here before I make you.""His fiancée, you say? Wow, that's interesting." I raised my hand, flashing my wedding ring at her so she could get a proper look at it. I'm so lucky I put it on today, or else. "You see this ring? We got married. He put this ring on me, and it wasn't by force, honey. So get out of my house."She looked at my hand in disbelief, "You are the slut he got married to instead of me!" she yelled, "That is my ring!" she yelled hysterically.I shook my head, "Correction, was your ring, but not anymore. He's my husband now."She harshly
