Chapter Fifty-eight: Eighteen Years Ago.

Helia found it difficult to breathe after reading what was written on the paper she was holding.

Her strong grip on the paper weakened and it fell to the ground. Damien rushed to it, picked it up, and gasped.

"Your mother is a witch?" Damien could not absorb what was written on the paper.

"What?!"

Damien turned around to see Rendall behind Danica. Rendall had made her kneel before him with her back facing him and the weight of his hands pressing down her shoulders.

Helia stood on her feet and laughed sarcastically. "Did you see it? Did you see how they lied to me?"

"Helia," Rendall called out softly.

"They lied to me," Helia whispered. Her voice sounded strained. "I thought I knew the truth but they lied to me. Father lied to me. Mother— the one who I had thought was my mother—"

Helia's voice trailed off. Loads of painful thoughts swirled around her brain. Helia's hand reached out to her head and she winced in pain as it did nothing to ease the pain she was in. She could feel her stre
