MIA

I gulped hard and spun around to face her, my face tight in a frown.

I raised my brows, waiting for her to speak.

Her lips parted and slammed shut, and she gripped her pale hands, lowering her head while patting her feet on the ground countless times.

“I want to talk to you,” she muttered.

I inhaled sharply and shrugged, trying to hide my displeasure.

“What do you want?” I asked.

She sucked her bottom lip in and took a few steps towards me, then paused and looked up to face me.

“I know this

MIAWater rushed in through every opening in my body, drawing me away from life and pushing me down into the deepest darkness.A hand squeezed around my throat as I struggled to escape the leader's hold deep in the water.I could see his twisted face above, glaring down at me, wishing I'd die as if that would stop his.My heartbeat slowly began to fade, and my mind started to drift away to somewhere else. To that night I lost my parents to the blade. Before I could drift away completely, his hand jerked off my throat, sending me down to the riverbed.I didn't bother trying to survive because it was useless.A hand suddenly wrapped around my arms, and with a jerk, I was out of the water, face against a hard chest, soaked from head to toe.I gasped for breath, feeling my lungs burn in the narrow survival.A large hand pressed against the back of my head as musk filled my nose.I knew that scent. Alpha Asmodeus. He found me. He saved me.I slowly began to raise my head from the chest, b

MIAMy chest tightened, anger and pain rising and spreading a bitter sensation over my body.I scoffed at his excuse, my face twisted in disgust.“What makes you any different?” I asked. The smile hanging at the side of his lip slowly disappeared.“If you compare me to that beast—” he spat between clenched teeth.I took a step closer to him, my eyes wide with rage.“You are not any different from him,” I spat. “Bragging about this doesn't make you cool.”His jaw clenched, and he cursed under his breath, reaching for my neck.I didn't fight as his hand wound around my neck.My breath ceased as he pressed his hand against my neck. I could hear my heartbeat thumping loudly in my chest as he pulled his face closer.Pain shot up in my throat, and my stomach churned, but I still didn't struggle.Instead, I broke into a laugh. A dry, mocking laughter that made his face heat up even more. His grip around my neck tightened, and my laughter turned into a cough.“Do you really think we will spar

MIAI ran.I ran as I'd never run before.I ran more than my legs could hold.I ran till my body broke, yet I never stopped. The only thing on my mind was an escape. An escape from Alpha Asmodeus, from these rogues, from whatever else was after me.I didn't stop running until I got to the end of the rough path.Tall trees spread out before me, and on my left was a wide road that led down to God knows where. On my right was a narrow lane that I could tell led to a stream, as the sounds of rushing water drifted from that direction.I looked to my left and right, wondering what path to follow. The men had taken the phone from me earlier, and that was my only guide out of this forest.I sighed and ran my hand through my hair, my throat knotting in despair. The path to my left led to a place I couldn't tell. I wasn't sure if it was an escape route or just another dead end like the path I was standing on.The right path obviously led down to a river, but I didn't even know how deep or wide

MIA My wrist throbbed with intense pain, and my toes ached from the constant slamming against the large, sharp stones on the rough path deep in the forest. The coarse, twisted rope used to bind my hands together sank into my skin, making my hands gradually go stiff.I raised my head, my eyelids heavy and my body itching from the sweat that soaked my dress.“Can you at least free my hand?” I asked, my voice strained with distress. “You know I can't run away, right?”They all stayed silent, ignoring my wince just as they had for over an hour since we'd been trudging down the rough path.“How about telling me where we are going?” I asked again, refusing to give up on my plight. My chest tightened when they remained silent.“You know I'm part of the team, right?" I added. The man pulling me along suddenly stopped, and the other men followed. My heart began to race, and a cold chill rushed down my spine.I swallowed and glared at the back of the man’s head.“I’m an enemy of BloodMoon Pack

MIA“Who are you?” one of the men surrounding me asked as he stepped forward. My lips parted and slammed shut, my heart racing with fear.I wondered if it was safe to tell them that I was running away from the Lycan King. They looked nothing like soldiers. Instead, they looked close enough to be called rogues, and they weren't friends of my kind either.“I…”“You're coming from the BloodMoon Pack, aren't you?” A deep, terrifying voice muttered, and my heart stopped. The men standing around shifted, making way for the speaker.I slowly raised my gaze as a shadow fell before me. My throat knotted when my eyes fell on the huge, tight-faced man standing before me.Chills washed down my spine, and a gasp escaped my lips as his dark eyes narrowed over me, disgust hanging at the corner of his lip.“You are from an enemy territory!” He groused, the rage in his voice thickening.“No… no,” I stammered, my heart thumping in my chest. The fear of losing my life to these rogues haunted me. I could

ASMODEUS My brows raised in surprise when her face clicked in my head.“What are you doing here?” I blurted out a question I shouldn't be asking. The sinister smile on her face dropped, and her eyes darkened.“Am I not allowed to wish the Luna Dowager a happy birthday now?” She huffed under her voice.“I know I was exiled, and I don't want to be here either, but I have to,” she hissed. My chest tightened with guilt, and I let out a sigh.“I didn't mean it that way, aunt,” I muttered.“I was just surprised you showed up after years,” I muttered. The last time she showed up was during my fathers’ funeral. She didn't shed a tear or go over to console my mother. She just stood at a spot, staring at the crypt before turning away.I hated her at that moment, but years went by, and I began to taste a slice of what life was all about. I started to understand her. I loved her.“I just… thought it was right to visit my Pack again,” she said, reaching for a glass of champagne. My eyes dimmed as
