I wake up to the sound of the alarm clock...

I can’t believe how long this thing’s been playing. Just today, my boss Henry is retiring and today is his last day at the company, he will introduce his son and our new boss in exactly ten minutes. And I haven’t even showered yet.

"By the way I’m Hanna, I don’t like to wake up early, but don’t think I’m lazy after I wake up I’m very agile and I love my job."

Work that I don’t know if I’ll keep after today. I try to get ready as soon as possible, I put a red tube dress guava and a nude heel, a very basic makeup because I had no time, if Clara could see me now she would surely freak out. " You can’t go out to work like this, you have to look better, you are the secretary of the CEO of the largest company in the country." I can’t help but smile thinking about it so before I leave I send her a message.

Clarinha do not kill me, but woke up late again and barely had time to get ready.

I left for my car going straight to the company without breakfast today. I cut all ties with my past, I just wanted to forget everything that happened, but I could not stop talking to Clara, or Dona Maria our favorite maid, God knows how many times that woman saved us.

I arrived at the company building half an hour after the meeting had started, and ran up without looking back. I did not calculate the noise I made when entering the meeting room abruptly, The silence took over the room and everyone was staring at me, Sabrina even lowered her head and squint out of compassion to me or just to hold the laughter, I could not decipher.

"I’m sorry sir. I had traffic problems." _ Seriously was the best I could do.

"Okay, this has never happened before." _ Henry

"Phew"

"Funny I thought you lived near miss Roshe." Nathan

Only then did I notice the man sitting next to Lord Henry, my new boss. With a posture not as simple as the father, but full of arrogance and... good and beauty. He didn’t wear a tie and the shirt was a bit open, I could feel my throat getting dry instantly. I wasn’t taught to pretend or disguise, just because I was raised in a family full of snakes doesn’t mean I learned from them.

"Are you feeling well?" Nathan asked in a sarcastic tone as he frowns at me.

"Yes. I was across town today." Hanna

I see Sabrina holding on so as not to laugh at my face as I sit facing him next to Henry, leaves her then she pays me.

"Can we resume?" We all nod to Nathan. "Well as I was saying before the interruption of Miss Roshe things will change a little, but nothing you can not follow. I know my father is friends with all of you, but I’m not here to be friends with anyone, I’m going to charge you with everything I think you can improve. This is not personal, and I hope that at least up here you know how to separate your feelings, because I will not have patience with anyone behind me crying for anything that is related to work, or to your personal problems. You are paid to work and not to have feelings about it. Was I clear?" Nathan looks directly at me, I do not understand why, but I’ve seen that he will pick on me. After everyone responds that they understood and I can’t take my eyes off those cold, grayish blue eyes, I realize they’re actually waiting for you to answer only.

"Oh, sorry. Yes, I understand." I speak and see him snitch.

Finally Henry saves us.

"Good as we have a lot of work in the company I believe it is better each one back to his post. Thank you all for your dedication and I hope you continue so with my son here too." Henry

We all got up to go to our posts, but...

"Hanna, you can stay a moment. I’d like to introduce you personally." Henry

"Yes sir." We turn my heels to them.

When everyone has left

"What you have to say, Dad, I know enough about her. I’ve done my own research." Nathan looks at me with disdain. "Although there’s nothing from before she came to college in San Francisco. You’d be surprised what I got.

"Nathan, this is Hanna." Henry spoke calmly, as if he had not heard what his son just said. "She has been my secretary since she entered college, thanks to a program of excellent students who participated. Since then she is the best, can trust her and count on her for everything she needs, and she will do everything with excellence. And Hanna, this is my son Nathan, he’ll be your boss now. Everything I ask of him, and that he cannot change and your hiring I forbid him to send you away, so your job is guaranteed." Henry

"THANK GOD.... That came out loud. Sorry. It’s just that I... Well I need the job. And I love working here." I look at Nathan but I regret it right away. Big mistake Hanna, big mistake. I don’t want to believe it, but it sounds like hate in his eyes, why doesn’t he even know me?

"That’s OK I don’t understand why this but... Be as you wish." Nathan

"Great. I’m going to go, I want to make the most of my vacation and retirement. You’ll see, you’ll thank me yet. They will make a team even more unbeatable than when I was in charge. Even Hanna?" Harry

"Until Mr Harry, enjoy your trip. We’ll all miss you." Hanna

He goes out and the mood is awkward....

"So that’s it Miss Roshe, don’t be happy yet. I can’t fire you, but nobody said anything about you deciding to quit." Nathan
