Eloise’s breath hitched. Not because she was afraid of him, but because she wasn’t.

Then he stepped away, and she let out a long exhale only to realize she's been holding her breath. All she wanted was to tease him back, make him squirm like he always made her, but she'd failed. Woefully.

Instead, he’d teased her. Again. And worse, with that stupid smirk.

She gritted her teeth, forcing her fluttering lashes to still.

“Screaming, my foot! You're so annoying, I’ll just stick to my Antonio!” she snapped, eyes flashing as she stormed away.

…My Antonio.

It stuck.

His lips curled into a slow, wicked smile as he licked them, savoring it.

She had no idea what she’d just said.

How innocent she is that she doesn't even realize what he meant, how she shivered when he whispered close to her ear, and above all.

Calling him, ‘ Her Antonio'

Ohh…she has no idea what she just unraveled.

What's the next plan? She should be getting….

She couldn't stare longer. Eloise never thought she could feel like she was drowning when she's obviously not in the ocean or pool, but even when she looked away, his eyes were like magnets pulling her back. She wants something as beautiful as those eyes to capture the image of her, only her. ‘ No,’ her heart skipped, and she quickly looked away, but the closeness, the heat, was not helping. ‘ What's he doing?’ she asked in her mind, looking back into his eyes again. They bore into her, towering in a perfect, terrifying silence. He didn't speak, rather, he stepped even closer, causing her breath to hitch, and her heart started racing as the space shrank, leaving barely a sliver of air between them. Eloise tried to move away from the heated space but his arms caged her in, one hand resting on the wall beside her head, the other at the side of her shoulder. Her lashes fluttered as she kept feeling his hot breath against her face. She couldn't move, the more she moved, the closer

Eloise’s eyes blinked against the rays that bathed the Italian skyline and exhaled as she stepped onto the stairs of the plane. A light breeze rustled her hair as soon as she stepped out, heels clicking against the metal steps. Antonio descended just ahead of her, tall and perfectly poised in his charcoal suit that hugged his broad frame like it was stitched onto him. His jaw was clenched, phone pressed to his ear, voice low and sharp with business. But he didn't glance her way. Not once. Eloise’s eyes trailed the slope of his neck, the way his watch glinted under the sun, the casual arrogance in the way his hand slid into his pocket mid-call. She hadn’t said much since the flight began; he had himself buried in his laptop, typing away, reading reports, and sending emails. And now, he's taking calls. He's been cold, composed, and unreachable. She rolled her eyes as she hopped into the back seat of the waiting sleek black Maybach whose engine was humming quietly like it k

Laera steuped before following Oliver into the plane, her face was contorted with disgust and anger. “ Seems like the person did a great job pissing you off,” Oliver said the moment they took their seat in the first-class section. “ She's so disgusting,” Laera squeezed her face in irritation, “ like I just don't get it, how could you do that to someone you called your best friend, you ruined their marriage of one month,” “ Me?” “ No-no…not you,” she quickly shook her head and palm. Oliver chuckled, “ I know, just kidding.” Laera's shoulder dropped as she pouted. Her anger eased up and she let out a long exhale. “ That was Eloise’s best friend, am I right?” “ Hm,” she nodded, “ she was now pretending she didn't do it, not even pretend, she lied she didn't do it,” “ But you believe she did,” “ Absolutely, Eloise isn't the type that would lie, I trust her hundred percent. She loved Mason so much that she handed over her company, and look at what she gets for it—betrayal,” “ A

“ That sly bitch,” Tamara fumed after dialing Eloise's contact number over and over again, but none were going through. “ She didn't block me, did she? I mean I did nothing to her,” Tamara said as she sank onto her bed. She needs to meet with Eloise, but it's weekend, so she wouldn't be at the office. “ Maybe I should just go to where she's been staying,” she said to herself, “ but what if she's not home?” Tamara sighed wearily before her mind drifted to Laera whom she reached out to on her social handle and initiated a voice call. She cleared her throat while the call rang for seconds before it was picked up. “ Hey Laera,” she tried making her voice and tone as jovial as possible, “ Yes?” Laera answered over the phone, “ How have you been?” “ Cut the bullshit and go straight to the point. Why do you call me?” Laera's cold response threw Tamara off guard. She's never spoken to her like that. “ Is this like bad timing?” She asked frowning her face trying to be cal

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Eloise’s head snapped up upon hearing the beeping sound of the opening of door. “ Was he out?” She asked, sitting up. She'd been thinking Antonio was home but… “ Mrs. Jones,” she called with a lightened voice as she watched Mrs. Jones entered the sitting room. ‘ Guess I'm right that he's home,’ she said in her mind. Mrs. Jone took more steps closer with smiles, along with three other maids standing behind her, all keeping their gaze low and they all bowed in respect to her. “ Good afternoon, Mrs. Brayden.” Oh no! We're back at this? She shifted in her seat and stood up, feeling uncomfortable with her bowing to her and still calling her ‘ Mrs’ “ Good afternoon, Mrs. Jones, it's so heartbreaking that you hate me this much,” she said, a hint of sadness lacing in her voice. Mrs. Jones furrowed her brow as she looked at her, “ I do not hate you,” “ You do,” “ No I do not,” “ I swear you do—I told you I'm not married to him, yet, and also, it's Eloise, j
