How dare she even try to lie to her? How dare she try to play the victim!

Eloise’s breath was ragged, her fury was volcanic, and her urge to scream was to erupt. But instead, her fingers latch onto Tamara’s hair like claws before she could finish her lies.

A shriek tore through her throat the moment she felt the brutal grip.

“Ahhh! Wh-what are you doing?!” she cried, her eyes wide with disbelief.

But what she saw in Eloise’s eyes wasn’t just anger. It was hatred. Unfiltered, deep, and soul-cutting.

Before Tamara could say one more word, Eloise yanked her so hard, jerking her neck like a rag doll, that her balance gave way, and Eloise dragged her down.

“ “Let go of me! Are you insane?!” Tamara shrieked, her hands flailing.

“ Ahhh…,” Tamara screamed, anger boiling through her veins. Her breath ragged and eyes blurred with tears. She sat outside the gate, knees throbbing, scalp burning, breath caught somewhere between ragged sobs and disbelieving gasps. It was hard to believe that something like this would ever happen to her. Not from anybody not to talk from her best friend. She had dragged her. By the hair. Like a rabid animal. In front of people. Tamara’s lips trembled along with her hands. Her chest burned with humiliation, her scraped and bleeding palm could not bleed out the rage and embarrassment. How dare she! She screamed again. She was supposed to be her underling, Eloise was supposed to be her rag, her doormat whom she gets to decide what fate she'd have. But now, the one who's supposed to be at her feet had dragged her by the hair and humiliated her. Tamara quickly stood up, rage seething through her veins, her hands trembling to break anything and everything as her whole body shook.

“ Even though we've come to an agreement to no party, I'm not in agreement with you to end things with her.” Ruby glared back at him, her lips quivering and eyes flashing with hurt. She could feel her heart racing with anger. ‘ How could he say that? What is wrong with him? Is he really after my life? As if getting married to a woman like that isn't enough to hurt my feelings and discipline,’ Ruby fumed in her mind. “ Antonio,” she called, anger laced in her voice, “ Did you have idea what you're saying right now?” Antonio smiled gently. A smile so beautiful and genuine that it made Ruby's heart sink. She's never seen him smile like that, but what he was smiling about makes her feel worse. “ I have absolute idea of what I'm saying,” he said softly, “ and you got your information wrong,” “ Hm?” “ Eloise is only married to me,” he corrected. Ruby sat looking confused, including Mrs. Jones who is now both confused and curious. “ She's not married to another man,” “

Tamara felt swept off her feet even though she was seated. The man who just strode into the room like he owned the house and the air that he breathed in it caught her breath.‘ Oh…my God,’ she exclaimed in her mind, ‘ Is he human?’She had never seen anyone this gorgeous.‘ Who is he?’ with questions in her mind, her eyes drifted to the lady beside him.Eloise.Glaring murderously at her and that's when she realized. This was him—the man with Eloise that day, though she hadn’t seen his face clearly then, he is obviously Eloise's husband-to-be.She clenched her fist and looked back at Antonio. Like she knows, every good thing always finds its way to Elly.‘How can a man who looks like sin poured into a suit, eyes–sharp, cold, dangerous with an unforgettable face, belong to her. How the hell does she always land herself the untouchable ones? She doesn't deserve him, she's just a whore, a betrayer who thinks she can discard her friend whenever she wants.’Tamara said as she feasted her e

Mrs. Jones exhaled exhaustedly, her mind preparing for whatever it was that Antonio would say when he got back home to see that she had allowed the grandmother into the house to turn it upside down in the name of preparing for the wedding. But she was sure not to allow anyone into his room. The house was buzzing with gentle energy, a team of decorators fluttered around with different boxes as the planner measured the living room.“ We could book a venue for all these,” she heard the planner say to grandmother, who stood at the center, with her silver hair neatly curled, her pearl necklace resting against a rose-patterned blouse. Her eyes were warm and twinkling with excitement, grinning ear to ear as she scanned the apartment like a general overseeing a battlefield of love.“ Mrs. Jones,” one of the decorators called, pulling her gaze away from the grandmother as they approached her with a box of customized couple mugs, robes, pyjamas, and flip flops.“ Here,” she took them to where t

“ Finally,” Jeremy grinned as he stood before the apartment and pressed the bell button. No answer. He waited for some seconds before pressing the button again. But still--no response. He looked around but saw no one in sight, he'd have asked if anyone knew where she was.“ Is she really not home?” He asked, eyeing the door, “ Laera?” He called, “ Laera!”No response. He gritted his teeth and cursed under his breath. After searching for so long, he finally found out where she stays, thanks to the person he paid to search for her, and now that he has found the place, she's not home.“ Maybe she went to buy something,” he guessed, “ Well I can just wait for her.”He leaned his back and cocked one of his legs against the wall in his black pants and black hoodie that nearly covered half of his face. After waiting for seconds, his eyes fell on her door and the lock.“ Maybe I should wait for her inside,” he said to himself, “ that would be a wonderful surprise, she'd love it.”And with tha
