*SIENNA*

Cooking has always been one of my hobbies so I'm only going to cook because it's something I enjoy and not because he demands it.

So by evening, I began cooking...it felt like a brand new exhilarating experience to cook in such a massive kitchen.

At exactly 7:30, he stepped into the dining room.

I had just started preparing the table.

I frowned, wondering how someone could keep time like that.

He took off his jacket and settled into a chair.

He gazed at the food on the table.

"It's chicken parmesan with pasta."

When he grabbed the utensils,

I quickly smacked the back of his hand.

"Go and wash your hands.

He acts completely perfect but doesn't understand he has to wash his hands before eating?

"I'm not eating with my bare hands, am I?"

I shook my head. "I believed you had only decent habits. I'm pretty sure not washing your hands before eating is wrong."

Alright," he complained and stood up.

I laughed as he strode off.

*SIENNA*Very early the next morning, I arrived at Sunrise Orphanage.I couldn’t leave without bringing something, so I bought a lot of things for the kids.I was greeted warmly, and the sisters were very thankful for my gift. The head of the orphanage, who identified herself as Mrs. Eleanor, was a woman in her fifties. She led me to her office, and I explained my reason for visiting in a polite manner. She was very kind and she asked an assistant to bring the adoption records from last year.My hands shook as I skimmed through the pages.I was frantically looking for Elvis’s picture. My breath caught as soon as I spotted it.The record matched exactly what Alexander had said.Elvis had been left at the orphanage as a newborn, and Alexander had taken him in when he was only a month old.I gently closed the book.I should have listened to Clara and kept my hopes in check… but I couldn’t help it.I still can’t get over the loss of my babies.I expressed my thanks to Mrs. Eleanor and lef

*SIENNA*Oh… please, come in. Elvis is asleep at the moment.” Benita led me inside.I stopped the baby’s bed in the living room.I crept over and gazed at the sweet little guy.He was resting soundly on his side…“Miss Vale, would you like to have some juice?” Benita offered.“Yes, please.” I stepped away from the bed and settled on the sofa.Benita came into the living room and gave me a glass of juice. When I had been away for a few days, I was afraid Elvis might have a hard time adjusting to not seeing me. I was relieved that he seemed comfortable with your presence.”I smiled.I wanted to spend time with him every single day."So...have you been looking after him since he was born?" I asked carefully."Actually...I started working here right after Mr Graves adopted him."Yes...he mentioned that to me...who could possibly abandon such a sweet child?""I wonder the same thing. What were his birth parents thinking?""Do you know which orphanage Mr Graves got him from?" I asked with c

*SIENNA*It had only been two days since I left Elvis.During lunch, I invited Clara to a restaurant near our workplace.“You’re just picking at your food,” she said. I exhaled and laid the cutlery on the table. What’s troubling you, Sienna?I don't know. I haven’t been able to sleep properly for two days. Is this about a man?I gave her a sharp look. “No!”Then what’s bothering you?I sighed quietly and told her everything that had happened over the past few days.“I can’t stop thinking about that baby,” I said softly. Is it because your babies would have been the same age as him?I shrugged slightly. “I guess.Did Alexander look like the type that will adopt a child?I can’t imagine him doing that. My lips pressed together. “I found it strange too. But he said he adopted the child because he helped him stay steady. Granted, Elvis is an adorable baby. Still, I keep wishing he were my son. I can’t get past the fact that Alexander said otherwise.“Why don’t you find out more about th

*SIENNA*Who’s a good boy?” I whispered as I made my way down the stairs with Elvis in my arms. I couldn’t help smiling when I saw Benita arranging the living room.“Oh, you’re back. How are you feeling?” I asked. She grinned back at me . “I’m fine now. I can see that you and Elvis got along nicely.I smiled down at the baby in my arms.Yes… we did.”“Breakfast is ready,” she told me.I nodded and walked into the dining room with Elvis.I saw Alexander wearing a white shirt… he was sitting there, holding a newspaper in his hand.He didn’t look at me… and I didn’t say hey to him.“Dada… dada…I realized he was trying to say “daddy,” and it was such a joy to hear.Alexander set his newspaper aside and smiled at his little boy.“My little prince is awake… Did you sleep well?” He reached out and ruffled his hair softly. I brought the baby’s specially prepared breakfast and tried to feed him, but he kept tilting his head away.“Come on, Elvis… you have to eat.” I urged, but he still didn

*SIENNA*Elvis was eleven months old.If my twins were alive… they would also be eleven months old.I was certain.Could it be that…My breath hitched.Al… Alexander, is he truly your son?” I asked. He faced me. “Yes.A rush of happiness filled me.Is he our son“No.” He interrupted.Still… he’s eleven months old. I still remember when I was told our sons were dead… you didn’t let me see their bodies because you said it would hurt me too much. Our child's is dead. I adopted Elvis from an orphanage. He interrupted again.“Adopted?”I was still hopeful, believing he might be one of my sons.He had to be.When our sons died and you left me, I was broken. I managed to attend only one charity event, where we donated items to an orphanage. That was when I saw Elvis. They told me he was just a month old when he was abandoned at the back of the orphanage as a newborn. My eyes filled with tears. Why did I feel so hard to accept? Is that the truth? Is he truly not one of our sons?”I glanced

*SIENNA*I returned to the baby's bedroom and settled into a chair next to his bed.I simply wanted to watch him sleep. If my children were still alive...What would their lives look like right now?I pictured taking them on strolls...feeding them and humming lullabies to them.Elvis somehow eased the ache of losing my babies. And over the next few days, I acted exactly like his mother.I became incredibly attached to him and he seemed to prefer being in my arms too.He would constantly pat my cheeks with his tiny fingers. He was such a sweet baby who enjoyed eating...sleeping...playing and giggling. It broke my heart whenever he cried. There was one occasion when I was in the kitchen preparing his food and he tumbled over in the living room.I felt terrible trying to calm him down.It was 9 pm and I'd finally gotten Elvis to fall asleep.I worried the TV might disturb him so I grabbed a magazine to read instead.Suddenly I heard footsteps and my heart jumped.Someone had entered the
