A FORBIDDEN NIGHT WITH THE CEO

*SIENNA*“I don’t believe in love anymore. I whispered to myself as I drank the whiskey. “I felt it burn as it slid down my throat. “I’m not supposed to drink.“I know I shouldn’t drink.I have never been a headbangered alcoholist, yet I was one to-night. I simply wanted the pain in my chest to subside, at least at the moment. But still, the alcohol wasn't helping at all. Four years ... .It took Damian Black four long years to finally tell me I wasn't gentle, kind and sexy to him.How could Damian say that to me when he had been praising me? What's wrong? And just a few minutes ago…. I saw pictures of him online. Apparently, he had gone to the UK with a Lady. She looked elegant and sophisticated in the pictures. We just broke up like one week ago and he's already with someone else? That left me wondering when he had met her..Was she there before our breakup?Had he been cheating on me? “Had I changed so much that I wasn’t gentle or sexy or considerate to him?”AahhhhGod!!!

*SIENNA*I was still trapped in the grip of fear. Why am I always this unlucky?!I still can't believe that he's actually my new superior. My mind replayed the words I’d thrown at him.Gosh! Why did I even say such a thing? I should’ve been more careful with what I said. What if he decides to fire me because of that? No! I can’t afford to lose this job.I need this job to support my mom and sister.I need to calm down and think. My gaze flew out to the man, who sat at the end of the room, and he introduced himself as Alexander Graves. When he did not look at me, I bent my head over and dropped my hair, leaving half of my face undiscovered.I hoped that his eyes would not see mine.Every single moment felt unbearable to me.I felt a wave of relief and happiness when the meeting finally ended.I slipped out of the conference hall, quietly hoping he still hadn’t noticed me.The moment I got back to my seat, I told Clara everything that had happened. You can't be serious!Do I look l

*SIENNA*At 8pm, I arrived at Sheraton Hotel. As I stepped out of the taxi, I drew in a deep breath, watching people move in and out of the hall.”I held onto the gift and walked inside, trying not to draw too much attention to myself. The party planner did a great job--the entire place was beautiful. The moment I saw uncle Darlington, I smiled.Sienna. "He called, cheerfully."Uncle Darlington, happy birthday. “I laughed softly and hugged him.I'm so glad you came," he said warmly. We pulled back from the hug, and I handed him the gift I brought. His eyes lit up as he smiled. Oh, sweetheart, you're so thoughtful.I smiled and walked over to say hi to my mother, sister and Uncle Darlington wife, Elena.Noticing that my father hadn't arrived yet, I think it is the perfect time for me to leave.Seeing him and his wife makes me very angry... It always reminds me of what happened in the past. I always do my best to avoid them.Mom, I think I should get going,” I said, rising slowly t

*SIENNA*When I stepped into the house, I found Mom and Julian sitting together on the couch. It seemed like they were waiting for me.“Sienna, where have you been? I was worried… you didn’t even pick up my calls,” Mom said, her voice tinged with concern.I let out a quiet sigh and sank into the seat, utterly exhausted.“How did you get home?” I asked, still surprised.“I couldn’t even get a taxi, and yet you still made it before me. “When you left, I stayed behind to say goodbye to Darlington. He asked his driver to drop me off. I nodded slowly.“What happened to your face?” Julian asked suddenly.Dad slapped me.“What?!” she gasped, “Why… how…” She rushed out of the living room.“Don’t take it to heart, Sienna. You should have just ignored Elise instead of .…” “Are you seriously defending what he did? “My darling…” Here… take this, Julian returned again with an ice pack. “Thanks,” I whispered.“All I’m saying is, if you’d just ignored Elise’s outburst…” then she’d have even mo

*SIENNA*I had been working overtime for days, I barely found a moment to eat or tend to anything personal.Exhaustion was my constant companion, but I kept telling myself it worth it, this goal was too important to fail. One afternoon, my phone buzzed. Seeing Edgar’s name on the screen, a smile spread across my face. We had exchanged a few brief messages over the past couple of days, though I would hardly have time to reply.“Hello?” I answered.“I’m sorry to disturb you, busy lady, but I’m in front of your workplace,” he said.I gasped. “C’mon, Edgar. You know how swamped I am right now. I can’t come out.“I understand,” he said gently. “I won’t take long. I just figured you might not be eating properly with all the work, so I brought you something.“Oh, you really didn’t have to.“It’s crispy chicken and pasta.I swallowed and closed my eyes for a moment. I was starving. How could I say no?Glancing at my watch, I relented. “Alright… I’ll be down in five minutes.”**************
