Third Person's POV

Anilo stepped forward and expressed his gratitude, "Thank you, Gamma Adelaide, and Alpha Lance, for saving Griffin."

"He's your nephew, right?" Adelaide asked.

"Yes," Anilo replied.

Adelaide smiled and said, "Griffin shows great potential and has a strong sense of responsibility. Now that he's mostly recovered, has a suitable position been arranged for him?"

"He's now part of Lycan Erasmus's personal werewolf guard and officially part of the Ironthorn Army," Anilo replied.

Adelaide wasn't aware of this development, only knowing that Magnus and Eugene hadn't been assigned roles yet.

She simply nodded and said, "Tell him to do his best."

The Southern Border Campaign was Griffin's first battle, after which he was captured and joined Eugene's scout team.

Adelaide then inquired, "What about Ulrik? Now that he's been promoted to deputy captain of the Lycan King's personal werewolf guard, it seems a bit unfair to Griffin."

Anilo explained, "When Griffin went to war, he was

Third Person's POVPaisley took a sip of freshly brewed black coffee and noted, "Wendy says Sabrina didn't show her face at all. On the other hand, Velda actually managed to show up for the old hag's funeral."Ever since the assassination attempt that nearly cost her her life, Velda had been acting like a spooked rabbit, hiding out in her villa and skipping even the major holidays.During Rosemary's final days, she was practically a ghost.Paisley frowned. "If the hitmen are still tailing her, slipping in to finish the job during a funeral would have been child's play.""She only crawled out because she saw an opening," Adelaide said, not even looking up from her paperwork."With those high-profile royal cases still open, the Royal Guard has the whole city under a microscope. Nobody's going to risk a hit right now. Velda's got just enough brains to know that.""Who's organizing the service?" Adelaide asked casually.Gloria was still physically wrecked from her premature labor and didn

  • A Female Alpha’s Revenge   Chapter 703

Third Person's POV"You're all useless..."Rosemary was still spitting venom when a sharp, crushing pain hit her chest."Help... save me..." she wheezed, her fingers clawing desperately at the bedsheets.Ulrik, his expression stony and detached, sent someone to fetch the doctor. That doctor had been over several times lately and had already called it: she wasn't making it to the next year. After a quick round of emergency vitals and a grim diagnosis, the doctor stepped out of the room, pulled off his stethoscope, and gave Ulrik a heavy shake of his head."It's a matter of days now, Alpha Ulrik. You should start making arrangements," the doctor whispered."It's going to get ugly. Between the lack of oxygen and the toxins building up, she's likely to start hallucinating. She might see things, say things that don't make sense. If she starts pointing at thin air and claiming she sees dead people or old enemies, don't let it spook you. It's just the terminal restlessness setting in."The d

  • A Female Alpha’s Revenge   Chapter 702

Third Person's POVThe past flashed through his mind like frames from a slow-motion, black-and-white movie.Just like Digby said—did he know it was wrong? Of course, he knew. But why did he do it anyway? Was it for some cheap shot of vanity? Or just to feel like he actually mattered in this twisted excuse for a family?"Go home," Digby said, waving him off like he was shooing a fly."It's freezing out here. You're the Captain of the Royal Guard; standing here begging at my front door like a stray just causes me trouble. It makes a mockery of the sacrifice Alpha Zander made for you."Shame hit Ulrik like a tidal wave, but Rosemary was still his mother. He gritted his teeth, his voice barely a whisper. "Dr. Digby… I'm begging you. Just one bottle. Even if it just gets her through the New Year, please.""She doesn't deserve it."Digby spat the words out, ice-cold. End of discussion.Ulrik walked away from the center looking like a ghost—empty and broken.Back inside, Galvin stepped out f

Third Person's POVUlrik, the once-arrogant Alpha, had been standing outside the Digby Medical Center for four hours. The winter wind sliced across his face like a razor blade.Nobody paid him any mind. Three in the afternoon was Dr. Digby's designated tea time—a black coffee with a dash of cinnamon and two scones was his daily ritual.Only after finishing did he wave a hand, giving the signal to let Ulrik in.Ulrik thought he finally saw a glimmer of hope. The second he stepped through the door, he blurted out, his voice raw and broken, "I don't care how much the Danzel costs. Name any price, and I won't haggle. I'll pay it."Rosemary had finally liquidated the family jewels. He now held a cashier's check for three hundred thousand dollars. She had even promised that if it wasn't enough, she'd keep selling.Digby sat in his leather chair, holding a delicate bone china cup. He looked at Ulrik coldly through the rising steam. He didn't mention the medicine. His eyes, which seemed to st

Third Person's POVAll those headaches about survival, politics, and money seemed to simply bypass Priscilla. Not that she didn't find things to stress about—her worries usually revolved around keeping up with the Joneses, specifically her peers like Hera or Iris.If she won a social rivalry, she was as giddy as a pup with a treat; if she lost, she'd fume for a bit and then forget all about it.Even back when she was being played by Madison and Wanda, she just had a good cry and moved on.She was like a high-maintenance Persian cat kept in a greenhouse, never letting a bad mood linger too long.Priscilla spent the afternoon rambling through old memories.Adelaide listened with saint-like patience until Priscilla started yawning, then excused herself to the bedroom.Beata had brought up some fresh pastries; Lance polished off a couple before Adelaide sent her away to prep dinner. After dinner, Lance reached out with a long arm and pulled her into his chest. His deep eyes darkened under
