CHAPTER ONE

Ella sits across her big sister and smiles at her; "I know I've asked you several times but I guess I am not tired of asking, how do you do it?"

Karin dressed in her favourite summer outfits, a pair of wide legged pants and sleeveless chiffon blouse, looks up from the proposal she was perusing at her beautiful sister. "Do what exactly Ella?"

Ella sits up and place both arms on the office table separating them. "How do you live this routinous life of yours without getting bored?" Holding her sister's gaze she continues "I am worried that you'll be lonely after I move out; you won't have anyone walk into your room, make a mess of your closet and never return borrowed clothes." she smiles sheepishly "I am worried generally about your well-being because you don't have a social life."

Karin drops the proposal in her hands and looks directly at her younger sister; "Ella, we've been through this before and I don't think it's fair to bring it up again. I should be the one asking why you aren't tired of raising the same topic so many times without getting bored." she sighs, "you know how this gets under my skin, how sensitive I am about my social life and I am not willing to discuss it anytime soon so drop it!"

Ella raises her hands in surrender "Ok, I promise not to bring it up ever again but my wedding is in three weeks time and I promise you that people will talk, say all manner of things that might anger you and ask silly questions that won't be fair on you." she sighs deeply "I am just trying to be you, see how it feels like and believe me, I don't like it in anyway." she gets up to leave "I love you Sis, will always love you! I'll let you get back to your work now but I hope you'll come for fitting around 5pm. I know you won't be late."

Karin gets up, walks round her table and place both hands on Ella's shoulders "Thank you for caring this much Baby sister!" she hugs her tight. "I'll be fine and will get by as usual." She let's her go and ushers her towards the door, opens it and gently shuts it behind her. She leans against the door with her head "Oh how I wish I'll be fine Ella, I really wish I'll be ok." she whispers to herself.

A while later, she sits by the bar at Jurge Club, slaps her purse on the countertop and signals one of the bartender. "Impress me with your best tequila please!" The bartender smiles and goes to get her request. He returns with three shots of tequilas on a platter, picks a shot and places it on the countertop in front of her. "Here you are Ma'am, have a go and tell me your opinion. After all, you told me to impress you." Karin picks the shot and downs it before she changes her mind. it burned down her throat, to her chest and guts. She clears her throat and picks the other two shots on the platter he has been holding. "This feels good, very good!" She downs the remaining shots in the same manner, one after the other and slaps the countertop " Woah! this is what I'm talking about!"

The bartender stares at her quizzically, "I sure hope you're ok Ma'am!"

Karin gives him her best smile "Of course I am..." she looks at the name tag on the left side of his chest and calls out his name "Christopher?"

He nods in agreement "may I get you more shots?"

Karin chuckles "And get me booked for drunk driving right? I feel tipsy already, get me anything light in a tall glass cup that I can sip untill I'm tired of hanging out here."

Christopher nods again "right away Ma'am!" he leaves to get her request.

Karin looks to her right and sees a man with a very nice profile clearly typing away on his phone. He is so good looking sitting down, dressed in a dark green shirt and black pants, with dressing shoes; how tall is he and how would he look standing if he is this good looking sitting she wonders. She clears her throat to gain his attention but was clearly ignored. "Excuse me!"

Christopher returns with her drink. "Here you are Ma'am, enjoy the rest of the evening." He turns to leave to attend to other customers but Karin raises her left hand to stop him. "Do you know most of the regular customers that visit this club?" She asks not taking her eyes from the man.

Christopher cocks his head a little, "Yes, I do Ma'am. May I know why you are asking?"

Karin looks at him and smiles. "I'd like to know if you knew the man sitting at my right."

Christopher looks in the direction, "what man Ma'am?"

Karin looks in the same direction and the spot the man was occupying was empty. She looks around briefly and then back at Christopher, her smile resurfacing. "Never mind, and thank you for your time. I'd refer you to business associates if I get the opportunity." She raises her glass cup to toast him.

Christopher smiles genuinely. "I'd appreciate that Ma'am, enjoy the rest of the evening." He goes to attend to other customers.

A little while later, Karin walks towards her car, a little tipsy, "I wonder if I imagined the gentle looking man by the bar, or am I too drunk?" She shakes her head "I think I had a little more than the usual one shot. What got into me?" She unlocks her door, opens it but then misses a step as she was about to enter. She clings to the door frame as if clinging for her life, then gradually rights herself and enters. "That would be the death of me if people saw me fall." She says to herself and then closes the door. She inserts the key into the ignition, starts the car but someone taps on her window. She turns to see who it was, and recognised the good looking man by the bar.
