AN ADVENTUROUS NIGHT

Vivian tugged at Sandilo’s hand that was lying across her stomach. Removing it gently, she slid out of the bed, careful not to wake him. She stood still for a few moments, testing to see if Sandilo was still sleeping.

Assured by his soft snores, she picked up her bag and tiptoed out of the room. The cottage was eerily silent as everyone was asleep. The sun hadn't risen yet.

She walked through the faintly lit corridor and came to a halt outside the study. She looked this way and that before pushing the door. It creaked slightly but didn't open. 

She tried several times but in vain. In the end, she had to shove her body against the door before it finally opened with a loud creak.

Vivian had started missing Ruza badly... right from the time Sandilo reminded her about the earth. She always missed her but now she felt a strong urge to try and communicate with her.

She climbed down the stairs as softly as possible. She heaved a sigh of relief
