Bacl to her mate

DACIANA'S POV

My eyes widened slightly as my brows raised a little at the sight of Dianne.

She was exactly the same as the last time I saw her.

I would say she looked even more beautiful.

I let out a low and mocking chuckle thinking I had become this way, all because of Ulfred's rejection.

"Why the hell is she laughing?" I heard Dianne ask, as she walked toward Ulfred.

I was surprised, knowing I did not laugh at her. I was just in my own thoughts.

At this point, Ulfred had a frown on his face. He did not even know what to say as Dianne had asked two questions he wasn't willing to answer.

However, I would not keep quiet. I would not let her make Ulfred go back on his decision about helping me.

"You asked what children? My children." I answered, as Dianne forced her way onto Ulfred's thighs.

She sat on it like it was her rightful place but then I did not care.

Though I thought I was foolish for giving into Ulfred's whims two years ago, I had no love or feelings left for him.

On the other hand, Ulfred had a deep frown on his face as he looked from Dianne to me.

He probably thought I would react to what was going on as a look of surprise flashed in his eyes.

"What children, Ulfred?" I heard Dianne ask, ignoring my words.

"My children." He answered, without mincing words.

For a moment, I was glad that he did not deny our children. It meant that he would not go back on his decision.

"You are joking, right?" Dianne asked and I chuckled.

Immediately, her head snapped to look at me.

She could see the mocking look in my eyes as I looked at her.

"You told him you had children for him?" She asked, realization dawning on her.

"You're lying!" She screamed in the next second, standing up from Ulfred's thighs.

"You just want to warm your way into his bed like you did two years ago." She said, to my face and I frowned.

My hands clenched into fists as she had hit a sore memory and I was about to reply to her words when she interjected.

"I would not let you get back here! I won't." She said, in a low and threatening tone. She started to march toward me with a vicious expression on her face.

Her aura was murderous and I was ready to fight her to death if she made a move.

I was already in a fighting stance and in the next second, Ulfred yelled, in his Alpha tone, "Enough!"

His tone carried power and immediately, Dianne went still but his tone did not have any effect on me.

I was not under his rule.

It was like I was immune to him.

"Out! Dianne." He ordered and I saw a look of disbelief flash in Dianne's eyes.

She could not believe he would ask her to get out because of me.

With a furious expression on her and her hands clenched into fists, Dianne marched out of the waiting room.

The waiting room turned silent as I straightened up. Ulfred's eyes were on me but I did not care.

I just needed him to say the way forward and it was as though what had happened a few minutes ago did not happen.

"You have to stay in the Dark Wand Pack, else I won't help you." He said to me, suddenly and I frowned.

For two seconds, I processed his words and I nodded my head, still frowning.

It was funny that I had to beg him to save our children.

"Fine." I said, finally.

"I'll order the guards to search for information about the children. You just have to give basic information about them." He said to me.

I nodded my head, frantically. I was glad that he was already swinging into action.

"Go get dressed. You stink. The servants will attend to you." He said to me and I snorted.

I could stay in my dirty dress for a long time but then I knew I needed a long bath.

A few days passed and I was pacing in the waiting room.

I still had no information about my kids and I wondered if Ulfred would start a war with the Crescent Pack over the children.

Though he had called me here to talk about the children, I bet he wouldn't.

In the next second, the door slammed open and I turned to see Ulfred walking in with a troubled look on his face.

My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach as I noticed he had his lips drawn into a thin line.

"What is going on?" I asked. I could depict that look on his face. I knew he always had his lips in a thin line whenever he was troubled or whenever he had met a dead end.

"You lived in the Crescent Pack, right?" He asked me and I nodded, swiftly.

I wondered why he asked a question he had the answer to.

"Why were you in hiding? What did you do?" He asked, and I frowned.

I had reasons why I went into hiding but then I wasn't ready to say them to him.

"What do you mean? Why these sudden questions?" I asked back, knowing whatever he was asking did not concern my children's whereabouts.

"The ones who abducted the children are not from the Crescent Pack, like you claimed." He said and I gasped.

"That's not true…" I said, stuttering, my eyes widening in disbelief.

"They are rogue warriors!" He added and I gasped.
