Chapter Ten

"Kelly's POV"

Meeting Mr. Alejandrino is my pleasure but seeing him right now made me feel embarrassed, shocked after I shouted at him from the last time we met. It was a mixed emotion and I feel like the cupid is making fun of me, If it's just a dream can then I want to wake up and live my life peacefully. I secretly pinched myself to see If am dreaming but I realized that I was nothing but the truth.

I don't know what I did from my past life to make me punish today, I can accept some cases but the fact that I will be working with Sky make me feel annoyed, and Mr. Alejandrino is my boss. I don't know, will he makes it hard for me for saying bad things and yelling at him last time.

I feel like my burden is becoming heavier...

I managed to greet Mr. Alejandrino as if nothing happened even though my whole body was shaking and in a state of shock. I was glad that I maintain my professional etiquette and seeing Mia's calmness. Everything went smooth about the contract but what made me pissed off is there will be a marriage photoshoot at the hotel and my partner in that is Sky.

My blood started to boil, I think that it's not a coincidence. He planned it all, I tried to fake my smile and agree on the stated contract moreover I already sign that before I came here and meet the bosses.

In the middle of our conversation, a woman wearing a bathrobe come and interrupted our conversation. She called Mr. Alejandrino, everyone in the room was alert and looked at her as if she was a famous actress in the whole world. 

Oh my goodness, I feel like something's bad will happen, I suddenly feel goosebumps when I realized that she was the woman who slapped Mia at the bar.

I glance at Mia and studied her reaction but she remains calm as if she doesn't care and she doesn't know.

I guess she forgets what happened to her even this man and that man, Oh my poor Mia. If you might remember everything you might feel vengeful to her, Mia was looking at the woman with amazement as if she admires the woman's courage wearing such clothes.

I watched the movement of the woman, she walks seductively near to Mr. Alejandrino and looks at him intimately. She slowly pulled the rope off her bathrobe and showed off her not-so-good body. Mia and I frowned while all the men were amazed especially Sky.

Mr. Alejandrino covered his face due to embarrassment, Sky orders their men to stop Ms.Brooke and not let her come near them. I just roll my eyes when was about to leave when her eyes travel in Mia's direction, she taunted Mia. She cursed or even called her names.

Till Mia understands where is the woman's anger coming from, her calm face suddenly changes into confusion. Finally, she realized that Mr. Aleandrino is the man who kissed him at the bar.

"You??" Mia unbelievably asked him, Mr. Alejandrino looks at him apologetically. "I'm sorry" the only word that comes out from Mr. Alejandino's mouth.

She became a statue for a moment, she didn't even dare to look or to talk. I grabbed her hand and whisper, "Are you alright?" she slowly nods.

Before the woman left she warned Mia that she will take revenge on her for seducing his boyfriend, I hide Mia at my back and whisper to the woman. "Go on, if you want to meet satan sooner in hell."

I pulled Mia out of the room and we walked outside of the hotel, we're both pissed off due to the tension in the conference room. 

She breathes and says, "Let's go out tonight and breathe fresh air" she raised her both hand like a bird fleeing from a cage.

"Sure, where'd you want to go?" I asked her, she turns her head and smiled at me.

"Let's go to the bar!" she excitedly answered.

"Seriously?" I confirmed.

"Yeah! What made you think that I was joking?" she told me.

"You barely come to the bar," I said.

"No, it's fine. I just want to forget and remove the negative vibes." she honestly answered.

"Xavier"s POV"

It was already dark when I meet my friend at Breeza bar, it's been a long time since I had a drink and have fun. We ordered food and wines, we drink a lot and talks about our life, girlfriends and many more. I'm still conscious though I drink, I can still walk and think clearly.

I stand up and go to the bathroom to pee, when I went out of the bathroom a familiar face caught my attention. I saw Mia and Kelly were being forced to come with the three men, my feet automatically walk in their direction and I texted Sky to come and pick up Kelly.

I hurriedly run to them and stop the men from their intention, I punched the man who's holding Mia. He fell off the floor the two men run through me and tries to hurt me but they were stopped by my friends, the three men were sent to the police station.

"Do you know them?" Jude asked. "Yeah" I answered, they bid goodbye and told me to took care of them. The two drank women look wasted, Kelly is asleep on the couch while Mia keeps on standing and ordering drinks to the waiter. I stopped her and waited for Sky to come.

A few minutes later, Sky came...

"What happened?" he asked, "You're lucky, if I didn't see your beloved woman being kidnapped by men's she would have ended up in anybody's bed," I told him sarcastically.

"Who's trying to steal my girl?" he exclaimed, "relax man, she's safe now. I will leave them to you and send them to their home safely" I requested, I was about to leave them when he stops me and said, "Bro, I forgot to tell you that Mia is renting at your penthouse a few blocks away so you should send her off and I will take care of Kelly" he explained. I looked at Mia and she's also asleep, her head is lean on the table.

Sky helped Kelly and leave me, I tried to wake Mia but she keeps on tapping my hands. "Mia, let's go home" I whispered, she opened her eyes and nods while laughing then she stands uneasy, then I accompanied her to walk.

I was sitting in my car when she blinks her eyes and asked, "why are you wobbling?"

"I’m not. You are just drunk, I will drive you home, okay?" I asked her, she agreed and went back to sleep.

When we arrive at the penthouse, I tried to ask her which blocks she lived but she stutters and said to follow her. She was stumbling while walking, I just follow her through the corridor of the hall. I was surprised to see that this way is actually where my flat is located, she lazily leaned her back against the door next to her, and she taps it repeatedly.

The door’s knob is clicking, I hurriedly pulled her next to me not to make herself knock on the ground, a big fat bald man in his mid-thirties appeared as he opens the door. He furrows his brows and shouted, “Hey, you! Get out and stop knocking at my door!”

Mia pointed her fingers at the man, “why are you there –o- ld man?! That’s M—Y fl—aaat and not yo—urs,” she accused as she stutters, the man got offended and wanted to hit her but a staff pass by and greeted me politely, “Good Evening, Mr. Alejandrino.” The man got shocked upon hearing his surname, he apologizes to him for he knows that he is a tycoon in a businessman world.

Mia continued walking as she stumbled on the wall, she stops on Xavier’s door flat, she raised her arms as she standing unsteadily and pointed to the door.

“I’m SUUUUUUURE!!! That is my ro---om!” she declared while nodding her head, she clicks the doorknob many times and trying to push it but it didn’t open, some of the near rented rooms open the door due to the noise that Mia made.

“Hey! Bring her in your room, she’s disturbing all of us,” someone shouted at me, I hurriedly pick up my key in my pocket and open the door. But unfortunately, Mia fell off the ground after she gets in.

I come near her and help her to stand.

"I TOLD Y-YOU NOT TO TO-TOUCH ME, I CAN DO STAND ... EVEN WITHOUT YOU" she exclaimed, her tear falls on her face.

"I'm sorry" I apologized, she laughed while crying then looks at me.

"What are you doing here and why a-are you help-ing me?" she complains. I come near to her and seat on the floor, I wipe her tears away. "I am concerned about you," I told her.

  

The morning came, freezing winds surrounds the whole room and the chirp of the bird is a piece of music to an ear that wake up Xavier. He excitedly opens his eyes he was shocked to see Mia next to him. Till he thought all that happened last night was just a dream but when he think again he has known that It was all true. It was all that happened to them.

He stands up, cleaned his body, and wears his clothes, he comes to the kitchen and prepares breakfast for the both of them.

Mia slowly opens her eyes, she was confused as she moves her head to observe the whole place, she felt that her body is light and felt bad then she peeks under the blanket. Her eyes got widened while her jaw drops to see how bad happened to her. 

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" She shouted. Xavier runs quickly to his room to see how Mia is doing but the moment he puts his feet in the room, flying pillows hit him.

“You!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?!!!” she exclaimed at him.

“What did I do?” He pretended to her. She stands up while covering her body with a blanket and picking up his clothes on the floor, she went to the bathroom to clean and wear her clothes.

  

Xavier waited for her to come out to the bathroom and to fix their problems, Mia got startled to see Xavier waiting for her at the bathroom door.

“Let’s talk,” he seriously said, “about what?” she sarcastically said.

“About us,” he replied, Mia laughs at him, “there’s no us and we don’t need to talk about anything!” she exclaimed. Then she grabs her sling bag and walks.

He followed her and asked, "where are you going?" she turns her back to him and answered, "None of your business, and please stop following me cause I’m not interested in you." she heads the door out of his home.

"Wait, I will be responsible for what happened to us," he assured her.

"I will not marry a man like you who likes to take advantage of a drunken woman!" she exclaimed as she turns her back to him, he just watched her walk out of his sight. He was dismayed when she rejected his proposal, he didn't expect that she might get mad at him after what they shared last night. He knows that it's not good to take advantage of the drunkenness of a woman but they both like what happened.

Xavier left thinking as he reminisces what happened that night, it was his first time feeling that way to a woman not even to Julia Brooke. Mia is the only woman who made him feel complete and who refutes him rudely. No one dares to that to him but not to Mia, he didn’t know why Mia dislikes him that much. Yes, he is guilty of doing that to Mia but he didn’t control himself by her charm.
