HER TRANSITION 

After taking a warm bath, Shirley moved to the mirror in the bathroom and just stared at her reflection. She had noticed as she drove from the accident site that her sense seemed to be heightened, especially her sense of hearing but she had just dismissed it as her nerves at work.

From loud sounds to even the slightest sounds, she could hear them all. The honking of cars from miles away. Maxwell's villa was actually in a secluded place. The only residential building in the whole of that place. They were surrounded by woods from all four corners. She could hear the hooting of the night birds in the woods. The rustle of leaves as the cool night's breeze blew past the trees.

Most of all she could hear Maxwell's heartbeat. It was steady but jumped at intervals like he was troubled.

Drawing a sharp breath, Shirley closed and opened her eyes, and then froze. Her fingers moved to touch the corners of her eyes, which were now a glowing blue.
