Ayla’s POV

“A wedding?!” My mom asked with a baffled gaze and I don't know when I huffed.

“The question should be whose wedding.” I blurted, turning to glare at her.

My dad seemed to catch up quickly , his face suddenly became pale then quickly turned red, he squinted his eyes and bit his lower lips repeatedly, i knew that look, i knew he was trying so hard to suppress his anger.

“Carla, what do you think you're doing?” He was hiding the panic in his eyes as he stared at her.

Carla stylishly dropped the bags and started to fan herself with her hand, totally ignoring him.

“Carla, you shouldn't disrespect your father!” Mrs Susan said, her voice a little too high. That cut Carla off.

“C’mon, Mom! Can't you all be happy for me for once? It's always what's good for Ayla and not me! I walked in here happy but you guys are ruining my smile already.” She snapped, bitterness coated in her voice.

“No, you don't get the right to say that. You say your happiness? Really? You call what's built on your sister's tears happiness?!”

“You are not my sister!” she screamed.

“That's enough, you two! And you,” Mrs Susan says pointing at Carla, “don't ever talk back to your sister.”

She scoffed and rolled her eyes.

“Alright, you two sit down and let me understand what the situation is.” Mr Jacob says in his usual baritone voice.

“You heard him, sit down.” I snapped at Carla. She hissed and brushed past me to take a seat.

“Girls, what's going on between you two? Is it true that your sister was rejected because of you?” Mr Jacob inquired, directing the question at Carla.

Carla passed me a glare and switched on a smile after, “Yes. Because she is not fit to be the Luna of this pack, she is as weak and useless as her mother—”

“You're not just a bitch but a hater!!” I fired at her.

“Oh, guess who's becoming your Luna, holy one!” She fired back.

I was so pissed.

I couldn't allow her to insult me and go scot-free, not after what she did back at Calyx's place. She's not getting away with it. Never!

With these thoughts dominating my mind, I hopped on her and gave her the slap of a lifetime, one that left hand marks on her cheeks.

“Girls!!” I heard my dad's scream but before I could respond a slap landed on my cheeks, leaving behind hot marks.

“You fucking bitch!!” I fired.

Everything in me wanted to retaliate. How dare Carla slap me back?!

I was so mad at this point that I didn't let anything stop me from dealing with Carla. I yanked her closer and started to drag her hair, whacking it everywhere.

Susan rushed into our middle and tried to separate us but our strengths were unmatched so my dad had to step in, separating us from each other.

“What do you think you're doing fighting your little sister?!” My dad was breathing fire at this point.

His red eyes were angrily spooking at me and for a moment I thought I just lost the only person who truly cared for me.

“But Dad you heard her–”

“Hear what exactly?!” He cut me off with a snarl. “I'm standing right here and you girls have the effrontery to fight before me. Have you suddenly lost your manners that you no longer have respect for my presence?!”

Jacobs was angry. He was ferocious, even the atmosphere of the room changed into a dangerous one.

Fear crept into my face immediately, leaving it all dry and pale.

As I stared at the thick lines forming on his face I wished I could break and let them see the scars in my heart. The pains were so vivid that I couldn't face the cruelty crowning my father's face.

“I’m sorry–I’m sorry for disrespecting you father but what's done is done.” I sniffed back the tears threatening to break down from my eyes.

“Carla is an ungrateful bitch! She is a snake! Carla, she-she.. slept with my fiance and told him lies about my dead parents that I cannot condone. She says I am not her sister then I have no business living in this house!” I shouted out in vain.

I just wanted them to understand my pain. They have to know that I'm not crazy or petty, I'm just human.

“Stop being childish, Ayla!” My dad yelled at my face. “Your wedding date has already been fixed.”

“There's no wedding Daddy! Calyx rejected me!” I screamed back with tears.

“Yes Dad, he's getting married to me.” Carla blurted.

“Shut up Carla! How could you do that to your only sister? Don't you have no shame?” My mom snapped at her but she wasn't apologetic about it at all.

My dad rubbed his temples tirelessly and glanced at her. “Apologize to her and call off the nonsense with Calyx.” He ordered, his voice calm and dangerous.

She stared at my dad like he was crazy, sizing him up.

“Carla, apologize to your sister now!” My mom commanded.

Her face changed instantly. Tilting her head to the side, she walked towards me stopping just below my ear. “Over my dead body!” She spat, counting her words.

I took it with a forced smile but before I could find any words for her she was already catwalking away.

“Carla! Get back here! Carla!” My dad shouted after her but she was already gone.

I fell down with a sigh, staring weakly at my parents. My Dad's claws were already out as Carla had provoked him by walking out of him but my mom was trying to calm him down and that was the least of my worries.

I was just so mad that Carla could do this and get away with it. Yes, I still haven't moved on from the betrayer, the shock and mostly Calyx.

I was still hung onto Calyx, don't blame me cause anyone would feel the same. But what was more painful was the way Carla rubs it on my face without any guilt, it makes me wonder if she has ever considered me her sister.

“The wedding will go through no matter what, we can't have our children soil our good name.”

I raised my eyes to see that my dad was back to himself and was lamenting to my mom who was nodding to whatever he was saying.

Drawing a tiny sniff, I managed to stand on my feets and was about to leave when my Dad asked. “Where are you going?”

“To my room.” I hummed.

He left the chair and came to me, hugging me briefly. “I can only imagine how you're feeling, Carla surprised us all.”

My throat panged and I sniffed back the tears trying to pour from my eyes.

“I just want to rest.. I'm tired of all this–” my throat was suddenly so tight and hot causing me to cough.

“I'm willing to make the wedding work but with your approval. You have to decide if you want to go ahead with the wedding or let your sister have her way.”

I pulled my brows at him in fury and he proceeded to kiss my hair, nudging me to go and rest.

“Arhhhhh!!” I screamed the moment I got to my room, kicking the door angrily till I got tired and dozed off on the floor.

Lost in her beauty, I found myself drawn to her dimpled cheeks, unable to look away. With Carla, everything felt effortless, and now, just gazing at her, I was overwhelmed with desire."I'm never letting you out of my sight again, Carla," I whispered into her ear, brin
