Calyx’s POV

A loud thud enveloped my senses causing me to jolt out of sleep. Rubbing my eyes repeatedly , I began to organize myself it was then I realized that I had crashed in my study.

Last night was a hassle, my father was breathing fire all over my neck. I didn’t know he found out about me and Carla until he kept on threatening me not to mess with the Beta’s daughters.

I couldn't make it to my room as I was too bothered due to the conversation we had. I wasn't even myself throughout the talk so I agreed to whatever thing he was saying about the wedding and as soon as I found the chance to escape I skipped into my study to think.

I was still recounting last night's escapades when I heard the thud again. I creased my face in anger while trying to get the door but the door flung open just after i took a step, My father’s intimidating figure greeted me, his two hands resting firmly on his waist.

“ what again?” I whispered.

My heart skipped a beat as I met his gaze. His face was sweeping with terror and I knew just what he came for.

My suspicions were right. He knew about me and Carla.

He quickened his steps, extending into the room. I gulped as the hollows of his eyes turned green. “Greetings father.” I managed to say.

“Did you do what I asked?” He questioned. his voice was ferocious, matching the horror hovering around him.

“Father, I-I-”

Alpha Dwayne bashed the table and growled. “I do not want to repeat myself, Calyx! You will do exactly as I have said.”

My feet momentarily shook as I took in the annoying sight of my father. He had just dashed into my study, bashing the desk like he had some problem with it.

What does he want?

I agreed to whatever he forced into me last night so what's this about again?

“I honestly want to understand you, Father. What's this about? I do not remember us having any conversation aside from the wedding dates you picked.” I asked in oblivion.

I was totally confused as to why the Alpha was in a terrible mood and how it's related to me. How did that happen?

His fist slammed the desk, drawing my attention back to him.

“Why do I still hear about you and Carla? How could you son!” He growled.

“Ohh–” I coughed. “Yes. She uhm.. she's now my mate and we are getting married on the day you picked. What's so wrong about that?”

“You're asking me?” His eyes widened and I don't know when I took my hand to my neck, scratching it nervously.

“Father I–” I stopped to look at his eyes. I needed to know if it was appropriate to clear my intentions.

“Do you realize that you're messing with the beta of this pack? You're playing with his daughters whom he cherishes more than anything. My dear friend is getting turned over by my son who doesn't understand the consequences of what he's doing.” He rasped, tapping aggressively on his foot.

I just rolled my eyes and stared at him.

“Calyx, you're going to end that nonsense with that girl and stick to the original plan.” He proclaimed.

“I can't do that father. This is not some royal issue you can decide for, this is my life and I get the right to choose whoever I want to spend the rest of it with.”

“And what happens to that of the one you damaged?” He questioned and I was suddenly lost for words. “Yes Calyx, the poor girl you rejected days before your wedding, what do you think will become of her?”

“She has a life father, let her do whatever she pleases.”

“Good.” He smiled.

I furrowed my brows, examining his face thoroughly.

“Good?” I muttered.

He tapped my shoulder and nodded, smiling as he traced his steps back.

I wasn't expecting him to bail out that easily. I was stunned by his early take off so I ran after him, stopping him just a few walks away from my study.

Trying to catch my breath, I managed to ask, “Am I getting my wish?”

I know that was a dumb thing to ask but I had my reasons.

Alpha Dwayne turned around to face me. He laughed and looked me dead in the eyes. “No, I'm getting mine.”

I staggered back in defeat.

A thick lump clogged my throat as I let out a gasp, “Huh?!”

It felt like he just shot an arrow directly into my soul.

My eyes drifted into a bloody ocean as I watched my father leave. I stared at his fading shadow until it disappeared into the corners.

Still in that same position he had left me, his words started to get at me but the thought of Carla instantly washed them away. I turned to go back to my study and glimpsed a frail figure standing before me.

As I strain my eyes further I realized it was Carla. How long has she been here?

Instantly, I approached her, she was standing straight, her top drained with her own tears. That broke my heart.

“What are you doing here?” I intervened as I was sure she must have overheard my discussion with the Alpha.

She sniffed. “I came to vent to you but it's all over..” she cried.

“No, no it's not. What did you hear?” I asked, pushing her into my chest. She wriggled softly, sobbing continuously.

I led her into my study as I didn't want my father to walk in on the one person he just complained about, not like I cared but just to avoid issues.

I put her on the only sofa in the room and spread a cloth on her feet, staring softly at her. She took the last tissue and blew out her nose, her face already red from the endless tears.

“Come on sweetie, I am my father's only child he wouldn't deny me my happiness,” I said in a bit to ease her tears.

Her bright molded eyes gazed at me, “you think so?”

“Why not? I'm going to become the Alpha of this great pack in a few days so he won't have me wrapped around his fingers anymore.” I boasted, pride surging through my veins.

“But what happens now? Your father doesn't want anything that concerns me, I feel so jealous of Ayla right now.” She mumbled, her cheeks puffed as she flicked her lashes dolefully at me.

“Why? Because she's got some pathetic support?” I reached for her hands and caressed them, “You shouldn't get yourself bothered by that girl, let her get all the support in the world, my eyes are only for you. I will never acknowledge her.”

A smile crawls its way into her cheeks and she flutters a blush. “You swear?” Her eyes sparkled.

I took her hand and placed it on my chest so she could feel what her innocent smiles were doing to me.

“My heart beats only for you. Do I need to emphasize that?” I guarded her eyes carefully so she doesn't get a chance to even blink.

She hit my chest and laughed. “You're so cheesy.” I caught her hand and pulled her close, planting soft kisses on her neck.

She was laughing so brightly but suddenly she pushed me away, her face turning sour.

“What's the matter? Are you offended by my sweet moves?” I chided but she wasn't smiling. “Talk to me sweetie, please.”

She shifted uncomfortably on the sofa, folding her hands on her chest, a soft glare ruining her beautiful face. My hand moved to her jaw and I caressed it gently, my eyes not leaving her.

“It's Ayla.” She blurted out.

I fell back to the sofa with a sharp glare. My eyes went from deep blue to red as soon as I heard her name.

“That bitch broke the news to my parents and they all took sides with her. Today, my parents scolded me, they wouldn't even be happy for their real daughter.” She vents, biting her lips harshly.

My fingers clenched into a fist,I couldn't take the pain in her eyes and this was because of that bitch. Ayla, you do not want what is coming for you.

“I swear I will kill myself if she ends up as your wife!” She threatened, knowing how pissed that would make me.

“I promise that is never going to happen,” I assured her and dashed out of the room after heading to Ayla's.

I tried to maintain a strong pose, but who was I deceiving? Damon had seen me run out of Calyx's room and even protected me from getting caught.Still, I hoped he didn't know what I was facing, he might know because Calyx was mad about me due to what he told him but I really wished he didn't or perhaps stopped concerning himself with our issues.“Ayla, can you not hear me? • A LUNA’S REVENGE    Her misery, my satisfaction

Calyx's POVWatching Ayla's face fall as she saw us was more satisfying than I could have imagined. The fear in her eyes fueled a sense of triumph within me; it felt right to see her suffer, and Carla was unwittingly making it all too easy. Ayla's eyes were filled with shock and pain as she stumbled away, and I relished the moment.I knew it would break her, and I was prepared to mold back the pieces and shatter it all-over again this time harder.A hand snuck around my arm and I brought my eyes down to the small figure of Carla, she slipped her hand around my waist and I couldn't help but smile as I ran my fingers through her silky black hair."I'm happy we're doing this," she giggled, her artificial lashes fluttering. Lost in her beauty, I found myself drawn to her dimpled cheeks, unable to look away. With Carla, everything felt effortless, and now, just gazing at her, I was overwhelmed with desire."I'm never letting you out of my sight again, Carla," I whispered into her ear, brin

You sounded urgent.” I said, taking hasty steps towards Damon, who was standing quietly beside my door.He didn't reply and just stared at me, worry etched on his face. I was awoken by Damon's hushed voice, he had mind linked me and yelled my name severally asking me to get out of bed.“Damon,” my brows twitched as I looked back at him, what could he be hiding in that strong face of his? “What is this about?”He suddenly moved and faced me properly, “it's about your father, Dwayne fell into coma last night.” His words felt like a sledgehammer to my heart.Sweat broke down my forehead, I looked at him, shock enveloping my senses. “Father was fine when I spoke with him, how-w d
