Chapter 23

Laura

I spent the entire day in the fairy city. I've become good friends with Celina, but it seems I won't be staying the night.

Olivia is standing inside the room when Stacy jumps up from the hole with me on her back. Celina is silently following me, determined to find out what Olivia wants.

She came here and spoke to the fairy guard in the night. It must be something urgent.

"Hello, Laura," Olivia crouches down. Her wrinkles are more deep-set tonight, caught in concern. "I know you haven't returned to your real size yet, but I need to ask for a favor."

I slip down from Stacy's back. "A favor at this time? I'm sorry, but what can't wait until tomorrow?"

"Alpha Roger," Olivia says and studies my reaction. "He is dying, and the only thing which might save him is..."

I gasp. "Roger tried to kill me, and you want me to visit him?"

"I know it's a lot to ask of you. I'm not a fan of that alpha either, but if he dies, it will lead to a war between the Rivermoon pack and the Sunlight Shiver
