Laura

My heart is beating out of rhythm, and my hands are resting on Caleb's broad shoulders. Something is different about him. He is darker and less in control of his actions.

He is grunting and heaving. Every muscle is tense. I can sense this violence coming from within him, a bloodthirst. He could so easily rip me to shreds and kill me.

Yet I want him, even if I'm afraid.

"I'm sorry, Laura..." Caleb mutters on top of me. He is sweaty and naked and ridiculously attractive. "I can't... I can't hold back..."

"Sch..." I meet his eyes. "It's okay."

Caleb looks at me, and I feel the shift in him. Me saying it's okay snapped his last sense of self-control.

He dips his head and licks my neck. Tenderly.

I shudder, and my legs spread on instinct. I suspect this might be the lycan taking control of Caleb, and I shriek when he bites my shoulder to mark me as his one and only.

It hurts, but...
