As I sat in the car, waiting impatiently for any news on Lucienne's condition, my mind raced with worry, fear, and anticipation. Each passing moment felt like an eternity as I anxiously awaited any updates from Dr. Hayes.

Finally, my phone rang, breaking the tense silence of the car. With trembling hands, I answered the call, my heart pounding in my chest.

"Alpha Killian, it's Dr. Hayes," came the voice on the other end of the line, filled with urgency. "I heard you came to visit. my apologies, I couldn't let you in at the time. I've finished my session with Lucienne. We need to talk immediately. Should I come to the pack house?"

Relief flooded through me at her words, but the fact that I couldn't detect any emotion in her voice doubled my worry. Though whatever news she had to share, I knew it would be important.
