63. Agony and Ecstasy

The following day, Taesha kisses her husband, stroking his handsome face while running her fingers through his dark hair. The gentle caresses of her fingers stir Dexter awake. Unfortunately, his sense of timing was off because he had stayed awake most of the night. But Dexter's heavy lids finally opened, then he closed them again, asking groggily.

"Is it still nighttime, my love?"

She smiles, thinking he is joking. "Baby, yesterday is officially over. I know you wish it could last on and on. But a new day has arrived. Look, Dex, the sun is shining brightly."

Fear gripped his heart as he opened his eyes again, and it was pitch black!

Dexter rubbed his eyes, reopening them only to be once again to be faced with darkness. Taesha sees the anguish on his handsome face.

"Baby, what's wrong?"

"Taesha, I can't see! I can't see anything!"

"What do you mean? Are you seeing in ash gray again?"

"No, I'm blind! I can't see at all!"

"You have not been this way before, unable to see at all!
