Chapter Seventy

Storm's POV

Mom calmed down after a while and King Benedict interrogated my father about Maureen, our late pack doctor. In all my years of knowing that woman, I never expected she could do something like this.

"Did Maureen tell you who paid her to switch our babies?" He asked.

Dad stroked his jaw, his arm around Mom, " I remember the name clearly, she called him Alessio. She said he was very powerful and rich." King Benedict laughed.

" Alessio, huh? Why am I not surprised? That bastard had been after me since we were born." I raised my eyebrows, confused.

" Who is he?" I asked.

"He was my twin brother. He was jealous that I had been born before him, making me the next in line for the throne, he always looked for a way to attack me but I didn't think he would scope so low to give me a dead child." Wow, what a hateful man.

" What are you going to do to him now that you know the truth?" Dad asked.

King Benedict laughed again but this time bitterly.

"I can't do anything to a dead man.
