Kane's POV

I stand at the threshold of our newly rebuilt home, the sun casting a golden hue across the frame, warm light spilling through the open windows like a blessing showers

It’s not the grandeur that moves me, it’s the soul of it. The laughter will echo from the rooms from today onwards. The footprints that will be imprinted in the fresh earth. The scent of wood and pine and hope.

And love.

So much love, it threatens to spill out of my chest.

Avery steps up beside me, eyes shining as she takes it all in. The years, the storms, the wars, none of it broke us. It forged us. Every scar became a foundation stone. Every tear watered the soil from which this life now blooms.

Avery's POVThe air is cold, but it’s the kind of cold that wakes you up, that sharpens every sense and reminds you that you’re alive. The Winter Solstice is only days away, and I can feel its sacred weight in every heartbeat of the land. The earth is quiet beneath the snow, resting. WaitingJust like we once did.Our pack moves with purpose today. Fires crackle along the edge of the central clearing, and smoke curls into the sky, carrying the scents of pine, cedar, and slow-burning herbs meant to cleanse the air and ward off shadows from the old year. Every sound, every movement feels like a promise, a celebration of what we’ve endured and what we still have.I walk through the the csmp wrapped in a heavy cloak, my fingers brushing against the edges of wreaths and hand-carved ornaments hanging from the low branches. Everywhere I look, there are signs of hope. Ribbons in red and silver flutter from trees. Children laugh as they shape wooden talismans to hang on the sacred stones late

Kane's POVThe moonlight spills through the tall windows of the council hall, soft and silver, like it is listening. Watching. The fire at the hearth crackles, its warmth touching the faces of the wolves seated around me, my Beta, my Gamma, the elders, and all the warriors who’ve stood through war and ruin beside me.I stand at at the head of the table, but tonight, I don’t feel above them. I feel.… grounded. Equal parts leader and brother. And for once, the weight of being Alpha doesn’t press heavy on my shoulders, it settles easy, like it finally belongs.“We’ve come a long way,” I begin, letting my voice carry low but steady. “We’ve weathered betrsyal, bloodshed, and more loss than I care to count. But we didn’t just survive. We built something. We came back stronger.”There was a quiet stillness, the kind that tells me they’re listening.“I’ve been thinking a lot about legacy,” I say. “What we leave behind, not just land or power, but the stories, the strength, the love that live

Avery's POVThe morning sun filters gently through the canopy as I move through the village, the rhythm of the pack pulsing around me like a living heartbeat. There’s no ceremony, no grandeur today, just purpose. And it feels…. right. My hands are stained with the scent of crushed lavender and rosemary as I kneel beside the pack healer, helping sort the bundles of herbs laid out in woven baskets. She speaks little, letting me learn through motion and instinct. I’ve found a steange peace in this kind of service, in understanding what our people need, not just in battle, but in their quiet suffering, their healing.“These ones,” she says, holding out a few silver leafed sprigs, “are for calming the mind after a shift. Especially for the young ones. They often struggle with rest.”I nod, pressing the knowledge into memory.Later, I join the young pups in the training fields. Their energy is wild and untamed, limbs flailing, giggles echoing through the clearing as they attempt to control

Kane's POVThe morning air is crisp, carrying the scent of pine and damp earth as I lead my son through the forest on our patrol. The golden light filters through the canopy, casting dappled shadows on the path ahead. Each step we take is a rhythm, a heartbeat in tune with the land we've vowed to protect. My son walks beside me, his small hand occasionally brushing against mine. His eyes are wide with wonder, taking in the towering trees and the rustle of leaves stirred by the gentle breeze. I point out the ancient oaks and whisper tales of their strength, of how they've stood sentinel for generations."How do you know where the trees are sacred, Papa?" he asks, his voice soft but filled with curiosity.I kneel beside him, placing a hand over his heart. "It's in the heartbeat of the land," I explain. "The land speaks to those who listen closely. As an Alpha, it's my job to hear it."He nods solemnly, and we continue our walk, the silence between us comfortable and profound. The fores
