Tyler's voice grew closer as he drew closer. “Mommy!” he kept calling.

“Tyler, wait!” Olivia shouted. She grabbed him arm, pulling him back.

“I need to see my mom,” Tyler insisted.

“No, we’re supposed to stay with the winners. If we leave, someone could take our spot. Do you want Francis to take your spot like he almost did?

“No!” Tyler said quickly.

“So, let’s run back before anyone notices.”

Rose breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Olivia pull him back.

“If I see you anywhere close, I’ll kill you,” Austin warned coldly. He and Robin entered the car and they zoomed off.

Rose hurried to Tyler. When he broke the news, she couldn’t hold back her joy. “Out of the thirty who participated, you guys came second.” She hugged him tightly, her tone filled with pride.
