LOGINTRACY'S POV:
I have a new strategy on how to make Dante regret what he did to me.
I was used as a bet five years ago. Why not make him a bet, five years later.
“Dante, get ready to be used as a bet by me”. I mumbled under my breath and prepared to go and see my son before going for the shooting for the star that would represent my brand.
My son has not been close to me ever since he started going to school.
He always asks after his father because other children have their children with them but he doesn't.
And I know he wouldn't understand anything at this young age if I were to tell him how his father treated me five years ago.
He lives with my father in his mansion. He also has a nanny who takes care of him.
His condition is that when I find his father then he will come back to live with me.
I go to see him often but he always refuses to see me. But I won't give up on him.
I am sure that when he grows up he will understand things better.
“Alvin, please open the door for me please”. Alvin ran into his room and locked the door when he saw me entering the mansion.
My father wasn't at home. He must have gone out for something important.
“Let me talk to him, Madam”. His nanny, Maggret said to me.
“Alvin, my boy, mummy is gone now, you can open the door for me”. She said in a low voice, enough to coax Alvin.
It wasn't up to a minute, I heard the creaking sound of the door and behold my son stood with tears in his eyes.
I stooped to his level and hugged him with tears in my eyes.
He tried his best to push me away but he wasn't able to do so.
“Nanny Mag, you lied to me, you won't be my friend anymore. I told you that I don't want to see her, she isn't my mother”. He said with so much hatred in his tone.
But I still held him tightly in a hug. He struggled until he bit my shoulders.
I pushed him off because of the pain and he stuck out his tongue at me.
I slapped him out of anger.
“I have had enough of your silly behaviour. Do you know what your Dad made me pass through? He doesn't even know that you exist and you are here yearning for someone that doesn't even love you, then pushing the one that loves you away”.
He cried out and ran inside again and locked the door.
I crumbled to the marbled floor in tears.
My anger wasn't supposed to be for my child but Dante and all the people that caused me pain.
“I am sorry son, I didn't mean to”. I said to him with a broken voice.
“Get the hell out!”. He yelled out.
“Madam, he is angry right now, I think it's best for you to leave him alone until he calms down”. Maggret said while placing her hand on my shoulder.
I cleaned my tears and nodded at her before standing up to leave his room door.
Just then my phone rang, my assistant was the one calling me. I cleared my throat before picking up the call.
“Yes, what's the matter?”. I said, sounding more aloof and cold.
“Good day Miss Whitmore, the girls for the brand representation are here, but one of them named Ava seems to be making trouble. She said she was chosen to endorse the brand and not to be interviewed about the endorsement”.
I smirked at the news, I remember that Ava chatted me up but she doesn't know that Tracy is the same as Whitmore.
Just like what happened to Anna, she came prepared for a business deal but didn't know that I was the one in charge.
This news has brightened up my mood. I would like to have fun with Ava and make sure that I anger her to death.
“Alright, I have heard you, I am coming there right now. And ignore Ava if you can”.
“Yes, Miss Whitmore”. She replied before I ended the call.
And Ava's call came immediately. I smiled as I picked up the call.
“Hello, Miss Whitmore, I am here at the site for the shoot but someone who claims to be your assistant said the star that would represent your brand is not chosen yet, I tried my best to explain to her that I have sealed the deal with you but she is refusing to believe me”. Ava whined as she laid her complaint.
I was enjoying every bit of the drama.
“I am on my way, wait for me”.
“Alright”.
Ava, my weapon against you is Dante, just prepare for my wrath.
DANTE'S POVI came back from the hospital feeling pissed. Ava is really an asshole. She always does something to annoy me.I wonder how I left Tracy back then to be with a bitch like her.I was pouring myself a glass of wine when I noticed my phone on the counter. One missed call.Unknown number.I frowned. “Who the hell calls this late?”I stared at the screen for a few seconds, then decided to call back. The line rang once, twice… then a soft female voice answered.“Hello? City Hospital, Ward Seven. How may I help you?”I paused, confused. “Hospital?”“Yes, this is the City Hospital,” the voice said politely. “Who am I speaking with?”“This is Dante,” I replied. “Your number called me an hour ago.”“Oh…” The nurse’s tone shifted. “Then maybe one of the patients in this ward dialed your number, sir.”My chest tightened a little. “A patient?”“Yes, sir. Sometimes patients use the ward's phone when they need to reach someone urgently.”I leaned against the glass wall, my brows knitting
JACOB'S POVThe scream came first.A sharp, terrified sound that cut through the air above the pool.I turned my head and that’s when I saw her.Tracy was struggling in the water. Her arms floated weakly beside her, her head tilting backward as bubbles rose around her. The water swallowed her slowly, pulling her under. For a second, the world froze. Then I moved.“Tracy!” I shouted, my voice echoing across the water.I didn’t waste another breath. I dove forward, my arms cutting through the pool in hard, fast strokes. My chest burned, but I didn’t stop. The barrier dividing our side of the pool hit my shoulder as I tore through it. All I could see was her hair drifting like dark silk under the blue water. When I reached her, she was already sinking deeper.I grabbed her by the waist, pulling her up with all my strength. Her body was limp, no resistance, and no sound. The silence scared me more than anything.“Come on, Tracy,” I muttered, tightening my grip as I kicked upward. “Stay w
TRACY'S POV:I was bored sitting in the ward for almost all day without even knowing where my loved ones are currently. My mind was full of fog. Every time I tried to remember what happened before I woke up, my head began to hurt.Everyone kept saying I was married. That I had a son. But how could that be? The last thing I remembered was being with Dante… and Anna laughing beside me.Where were they now?I sat up slowly and looked around the room. My eyes landed on the hospital telephone sitting on the small table beside the window.Maybe… maybe if I call them, I’ll finally understand.I picked up the receiver with shaky hands. “Okay, Tracy… think,” I whispered to myself. “You remember Dante’s number. Try it.”I slowly pressed the buttons, one by one, and held the phone close to my ear.Ring… ring… ring…My heart beat faster. “Please pick up, Dante… please.”But then…The number you have dialed is not available.I froze. “No, no, no… not now.”I tried again. Same thing.I felt tears
JACOB'S POVTracy’s question hit me like a wave I wasn’t ready for.“Where is Dante? Anna? And my mother?” She asked again. For a moment, I couldn’t speak. My mouth opened, but no words came out. My chest felt tight. I had waited for her to wake up for so long, but not like this, not with her remembering someone else instead of me.She stared at me with confused eyes, her voice weak but curious. “Why do you look so shocked? Did something happen to them?”I swallowed hard, forcing my voice to stay calm. “Tracy… who is Dante to you?”She blinked. “Dante?” Her lips curved into a small, soft smile. “He’s my boyfriend. Why?”The room suddenly felt colder. I could feel the doctor watching me, but I didn’t move. I didn’t flinch. On the outside, I stayed calm, but inside, it felt like someone had just stabbed me.Her boyfriend. That name again.Dante, the man she used to love before everything changed. Before she was betrayed by him.I clenched my hands quietly at my side. I couldn’t let her
JACOB'S POVTwo long weeks had passed since Tracy’s fingers first moved.Every morning, I walked into that white, quiet hospital room hoping she would open her eyes but she didn’t. The machines still beeped beside her bed, and her chest still rose and fell gently, but she didn’t wake up.She looked peaceful, like she was just sleeping. But I knew she wasn’t.And every day, I saw Alvin getting thinner. His cheeks were no longer round, and his bright smile had faded. The boy barely ate. Sometimes, he would sit beside her bed for hours, whispering, “Mommy, please wake up. I miss you.”It broke my heart to see him like that. That afternoon, I walked into the room and saw Alvin sitting on the chair, holding Tracy’s hand tightly. His small head rested on the edge of the bed. He had fallen asleep crying again.I sighed quietly and knelt beside him. “Hey, buddy,” I said softly. “You haven’t eaten your lunch.”He lifted his head and rubbed his sleepy eyes. “I’m not hungry.”“You said that yest
AVA’S POVDante had been acting like a ghost for weeks. Every time I saw him, his eyes were dull, empty, like someone had stolen the life out of him. He barely spoke. He didn’t go to work. He just sat in that big, dark mansion, drinking his nights away.It made me angry. He was wasting himself over a woman who didn’t even deserve him. Tracy. The name alone made my stomach twist. She had everything, Dante’s love, his attention, his loyalty, everything I wanted. And she threw it all away. Now she is gone. Good. And Dante was mine to claim.I walked into his study that night, the smell of whiskey filling the air. The curtains were half-drawn, the room dark except for the faint glow from the lamp on his desk. Bottles littered the table, and Dante was slumped in his chair, a glass dangling loosely from his hand.“Dante,” I said softly. He didn’t look up. “Go home, Ava.”I smiled, stepping closer. “You’ve been saying that for weeks. I think you like having me around.”He gave a low, humorle
