LOGINDante's Pov:
Mr Dante, we are here to arrest you for invading Miss Tracy's privacy”.
One of the police officer said to me as they came in.
“That woman is my fiancee, this is a personal matter. She is angry that I left her for a long time. I have been trying to plead for her forgiveness but she is still very much angry at me”.
“Oh since, it's a family matter and considering that you are an influential figure in the city, I won't bother you but you have been restricted from seeing Miss Tracy”.
“If I get restricted from seeing her, how do we solve our family issue then?” I asked him.
“I don't think that's my problem Mr Dante, you must obey the law. She made a complaint and we are not arresting you right now because we can see that it's a family issue, but you mustn't go near her in the future”.
“I understand, but let me ask you, in case we coincidentally met in a party, does this have any effect on me?” I asked because if it doesn't, then meeting her in the future will always be a coincidence to me.
“No, it doesn't. You are only forbidden to look for her or even go to her apartment”.
“I understand, thanks”.
“Have a nice day Mr Dante”. I nodded at them and they left.
I brought out my phone to call my personal assistant Marcus to look into Tracy's history from five years ago.
After the call, my phone rang, my mood turned sour when I saw the caller ID, Ava.
She has been a pest to me for the past five years now.
I picked up the call reluctantly and listened to what she wanted to say.
“Dante, what took you so long to pick my calls? Nevermind, I am calling to inform you that I am currently in Folks city, I was called by a wealthy company for endorsement, I am at the airport, can you come to pick me up?”.
“I am busy”. I replied aloofly.
“Alright, no problem, me and Anna will find our way then”. She replied.
“Anna?, Is Anna with you?”. I asked curiously.
“What if she is? Would you come to pick us up?” I didn't want to hear or even see her but since my sister is with her, then I will have to go and pick them up.
“Why did Anna come with you?”. I ask.
“Have you forgotten that Anna is also a business tycoon, she came to secure a deal of course. Are you coming to pick us up or not?”
I gritted my teeth before replying.
“Wait for me, I am coming”. I replied with irritation evident in my tone.
I got ready and drove to the airport to carry them.
Ava will definitely be a pain in the neck. If Tracy discovers that she is now my wife, my chances of winning her back will decrease to zero.
I will have to check the company that gave her the work, I will instruct them to drop her so that she would go back to city T.
I got to the airport and reporters were all over the place.
“Shit”. I cussed under my breath.
Did Ava set me up? What are reporters doing in the airport?
I decided to go into the car and call her from there, but just then she yelled my name.
The reporters were glued to her. They followed her towards where I packed my car, now this news will be everywhere within a few minutes and if Tracy sees this, she would definitely hate me more.
I ignited the car and tried to drive off but it was too late because the reporters seemed to be everywhere.
My car was crowded with reporters, but thank God for tinted windows, I refused to wound down the window, even with the banging from them.
I sent Ava a message, warning her to get into the back seat if not I will drive off.
Anna wasn't even with her, I should have known that she is so cunning.
She opened the back seat and sat down.
“Hello hubby… thanks for coming to pick me up”. She said as she came in but I didn't even spare her a glance.
“You lied to me”. I said to an irritated voice.
“Because that's the only language you understand, if I hadn't told you that Anna was with me, would you habe come to pick me? I am your wife for fuck sake Dante”. She yelled.
“Don't even start what you can't finish. You knew the reason why I married you back then, it was because my hands were tied”.
“Mr Dante is married, but he doesn't care about his wife”.
I turned to see a reporter inside the car. I stopped the car immediately.
“What the hell, Ava? Why is a reporter inside the car?” I asked angrily.
“Shhhh…behave yourself, she is on live video. You better pretend”. Ava whispered to my ears.
I couldn't help but glare at her through the rear mirror.
She is a vile woman.
DANTE'S POVI came back from the hospital feeling pissed. Ava is really an asshole. She always does something to annoy me.I wonder how I left Tracy back then to be with a bitch like her.I was pouring myself a glass of wine when I noticed my phone on the counter. One missed call.Unknown number.I frowned. “Who the hell calls this late?”I stared at the screen for a few seconds, then decided to call back. The line rang once, twice… then a soft female voice answered.“Hello? City Hospital, Ward Seven. How may I help you?”I paused, confused. “Hospital?”“Yes, this is the City Hospital,” the voice said politely. “Who am I speaking with?”“This is Dante,” I replied. “Your number called me an hour ago.”“Oh…” The nurse’s tone shifted. “Then maybe one of the patients in this ward dialed your number, sir.”My chest tightened a little. “A patient?”“Yes, sir. Sometimes patients use the ward's phone when they need to reach someone urgently.”I leaned against the glass wall, my brows knitting
JACOB'S POVThe scream came first.A sharp, terrified sound that cut through the air above the pool.I turned my head and that’s when I saw her.Tracy was struggling in the water. Her arms floated weakly beside her, her head tilting backward as bubbles rose around her. The water swallowed her slowly, pulling her under. For a second, the world froze. Then I moved.“Tracy!” I shouted, my voice echoing across the water.I didn’t waste another breath. I dove forward, my arms cutting through the pool in hard, fast strokes. My chest burned, but I didn’t stop. The barrier dividing our side of the pool hit my shoulder as I tore through it. All I could see was her hair drifting like dark silk under the blue water. When I reached her, she was already sinking deeper.I grabbed her by the waist, pulling her up with all my strength. Her body was limp, no resistance, and no sound. The silence scared me more than anything.“Come on, Tracy,” I muttered, tightening my grip as I kicked upward. “Stay w
TRACY'S POV:I was bored sitting in the ward for almost all day without even knowing where my loved ones are currently. My mind was full of fog. Every time I tried to remember what happened before I woke up, my head began to hurt.Everyone kept saying I was married. That I had a son. But how could that be? The last thing I remembered was being with Dante… and Anna laughing beside me.Where were they now?I sat up slowly and looked around the room. My eyes landed on the hospital telephone sitting on the small table beside the window.Maybe… maybe if I call them, I’ll finally understand.I picked up the receiver with shaky hands. “Okay, Tracy… think,” I whispered to myself. “You remember Dante’s number. Try it.”I slowly pressed the buttons, one by one, and held the phone close to my ear.Ring… ring… ring…My heart beat faster. “Please pick up, Dante… please.”But then…The number you have dialed is not available.I froze. “No, no, no… not now.”I tried again. Same thing.I felt tears
JACOB'S POVTracy’s question hit me like a wave I wasn’t ready for.“Where is Dante? Anna? And my mother?” She asked again. For a moment, I couldn’t speak. My mouth opened, but no words came out. My chest felt tight. I had waited for her to wake up for so long, but not like this, not with her remembering someone else instead of me.She stared at me with confused eyes, her voice weak but curious. “Why do you look so shocked? Did something happen to them?”I swallowed hard, forcing my voice to stay calm. “Tracy… who is Dante to you?”She blinked. “Dante?” Her lips curved into a small, soft smile. “He’s my boyfriend. Why?”The room suddenly felt colder. I could feel the doctor watching me, but I didn’t move. I didn’t flinch. On the outside, I stayed calm, but inside, it felt like someone had just stabbed me.Her boyfriend. That name again.Dante, the man she used to love before everything changed. Before she was betrayed by him.I clenched my hands quietly at my side. I couldn’t let her
JACOB'S POVTwo long weeks had passed since Tracy’s fingers first moved.Every morning, I walked into that white, quiet hospital room hoping she would open her eyes but she didn’t. The machines still beeped beside her bed, and her chest still rose and fell gently, but she didn’t wake up.She looked peaceful, like she was just sleeping. But I knew she wasn’t.And every day, I saw Alvin getting thinner. His cheeks were no longer round, and his bright smile had faded. The boy barely ate. Sometimes, he would sit beside her bed for hours, whispering, “Mommy, please wake up. I miss you.”It broke my heart to see him like that. That afternoon, I walked into the room and saw Alvin sitting on the chair, holding Tracy’s hand tightly. His small head rested on the edge of the bed. He had fallen asleep crying again.I sighed quietly and knelt beside him. “Hey, buddy,” I said softly. “You haven’t eaten your lunch.”He lifted his head and rubbed his sleepy eyes. “I’m not hungry.”“You said that yest
AVA’S POVDante had been acting like a ghost for weeks. Every time I saw him, his eyes were dull, empty, like someone had stolen the life out of him. He barely spoke. He didn’t go to work. He just sat in that big, dark mansion, drinking his nights away.It made me angry. He was wasting himself over a woman who didn’t even deserve him. Tracy. The name alone made my stomach twist. She had everything, Dante’s love, his attention, his loyalty, everything I wanted. And she threw it all away. Now she is gone. Good. And Dante was mine to claim.I walked into his study that night, the smell of whiskey filling the air. The curtains were half-drawn, the room dark except for the faint glow from the lamp on his desk. Bottles littered the table, and Dante was slumped in his chair, a glass dangling loosely from his hand.“Dante,” I said softly. He didn’t look up. “Go home, Ava.”I smiled, stepping closer. “You’ve been saying that for weeks. I think you like having me around.”He gave a low, humorle
