Dorian had been stressing about not spending enough time with Eva. His workload was relentless, and though he knew she understood, it still gnawed at him. He missed her laugh, her presence, the way she always looked up from her desk with that spark in her eye. So today, he decided to do something about it.

He carefully packed a picnic basket that morning with some of Eva's favorite foods, grilled chicken paninis, a tiny charcuterie selection, strawberries dipped in chocolate, and her favorite bottle of champagne. He even added two crystal flutes and a small bouquet of white roses wrapped in parchment paper. He wanted everything to be perfect.

Before heading over, he called Eva to make sure she was still in the office. He didn't give her the slightest hint of his plan, keeping his tone casual. She sounded a bit busy but happy to hear from him. That made him smile.
