COFFEE SHOP

I went straight to the nearest coffee shop after leaving the venue. I don't have a Friend or a companion. I only have myself and my twin to begin with. But I'm alone because she's at the party. As I walk in, a few people gaze at me with envy in their eyes. I don't have enough self-assurance, which is why I smiled sheepishly. I'm a shy person. I'm not sure why they're staring at me like that, but I'm just focused on getting to my destination and finding a seat. I'm close to the glass wall. Every person that enters this establishment is visible to my eyes. I've already had a cup of coffee. Moments later,  I saw my twin arrive and she was with someone while I was enjoying my coffee. Shit! I don't want anyone to know I'm here! I abruptly get up from my seat and proceed to the restroom. I examine myself in the mirror. Why should I hide in the first place? To begin with, I am not a criminal. Before heading out to the restroom, I gave a quick peek to scan my face. I accidently bumped into someone in an instant I walked out the door. I hide my face behind my long hair, afraid that someone may see me.

"I apologize," I said without looking.

The person she bumped with remained silent. He assists her in standing up. Nicole was taken aback when she learned that this man is the celebrant. When she looked at his lovely pair of eyes, she was stunned. The man in front of her seemed perplexed as to who she is. I noticed my twin sister approaching before I could say anything else. I already has the clue I needs to runaway. I went out quickly even the man is yelling and calling for me.  I take a cab. I dash out of the automobile without checking the license plate number. My mother's directive was that no one should know about me and that includes my existence but my father was unaware of this. I informed the driver of my location. I got out of the car when we arrived at my location.I take a look at the car that is driving away. I'm in the vicinity of the mall. I took a step towards the roof top. As soon as I take a seat, my phone vibrates. I take a glance at my phone. My mother has dialed my number. I'm unable to keep a smile from appearing on my face. This is the first time. I quickly answered the call.

"How are you, mommy?" I inquired pleasantly. When she replied, my smile began to fade.

"What did I tell you Nicole Ashanti? Don't leave your room! Why are you so stubborn? Where are you? You're making me look like a bad mother in the eyes of everyone!" she said angrily. I can't help but swallow. The call was cut off before I could respond. My mom was the one who ended the call. I got up and walked down from this building's rooftop. I use my hair to hide my face once more. I opted to walk because our house is only a short distance away. After a few minutes of strolling, I reach our gate. The guards let me in by opening the gate for me. They appear befuddled. Perhaps they mistook me for Elizabeth, my twin sister who is usually prefer driving her own car. I smiled at them. I strolled by them, allowing them to consider who I am but I know better.

My mother greeted me with a slap as soon as I entered our home. My twin gave me a gloomy expression. Her slap is so severe that I have to turn around and face my side. When I come to my senses, I gaze at my mother. This is not the first time that she slaps me.

"What's the matter, mom? Did I do something wrong again?" I worriedly inquired. I'm aware that my twin is staring at us.

"Why are you outside? Who told you to go out? You have no right to be seen! Elizabeth is in danger if someone sees you! Do you Know that?" she said angrily at me.

I'm confused as I glance at my mother.

"What did you say, mom? What danger?" I asked, my voice trembled. She averted her gaze from mine. She grabbed my twin sister and she hugged her. While my sister is crying in her arms, I look at them. Why is she so upset? My left cheek hurts, but I don't pay attention to it. I get up close with my mother and sister. My sister let go of our mother's arms and stared at me blankly when I was ready to hug them. What's wrong?

"I almost got abducted because of you, Nicole," she added, pointing to me.

"I was lucky that my boyfriend was with me."

I raised my brows since I'm having trouble understanding anything right now.

Abducted? What exactly is she saying? I just saw her at the coffee shop a few minutes ago.

"Relax, honey... Calm down. Breathe okay?" Mommy said to my sister.

"No one is going to hurt you again. No one is going to get you away from us." I shut my eyes. All of a sudden, I felt guilty. I really shouldn't go out.

Mommy and my sister walked away. I left in the living room alone. I was noticed by our maid. She takes a step towards me.

"Are you all right, Señorita? Do you want some water? Are you hungry?" Manang Cecilia said, her voice concerned.

"It's okay, Manang Cecilia. I'm not hungry. I'm going to my room to rest," I explained, but she stopped me with her hand.

"Are you truly okay, Señorita? You look pale to me. Do you want me to accompany you for a while?" she inquired, causing me to pause and stare at her teary-eyed face. She has a pitiful expression on her face as she looks at me. My tears slid down my cheeks softly. I'm sobbing uncontrollably. She wipes my tears away with her hands. She suddenly hugs me.

"Don't think of anything. You have me." Manang Cecilia uttered softly in my ears that made my tears burst.
