RENEWED HOPE

Chapter 6

ALPHA DYLAN’S POV

“I’m sorry.” Neon said, looking with regrets.

“Gather the council of elders at the meeting hall. I will be waiting.” I said, with anger as I dashed out of my chamber.

A few minutes after I had gotten to the meeting hall, the elders trooped in and I could see it on their faces that they were a bit scared as I didn’t try to hide my anger.

“Who suggested that the Luna, be killed?” I asked, with a straight face.

The elders began to look at each other, probably waiting for the person who would speak up.

“One thing you might have forgotten is that I am the King, the one with the final decision. Even as we are to abide by the law, you must always wait for my consent!” I said, with anger.

“Forgive us, Alpha King.”

“Until the next full moon, Elder Dane will be suspended of his duties.” I said, then walked out of the meeting hall.

He was the eldest of them all and if he was wise, he wouldn’t have allowed the others to take such a decision without me. I felt empty without Nisha and hoped that she could forgive me, wherever her soul was, because if I had not made her the Luna to curb her, she wouldn’t have been dead.

For days, I mourned her death and couldn’t get back to the way my life was, before I met her.

“Neon, bring my bow and arrow along with me, I want to take a stroll to the woods.” I said as I finished dressing.

We got to the woods and I took in the fresh breeze. Then I reminisced the moments Nisha and I, had. I picked up my bow and arrow and started shooting at the trees and each bow, I shot with anger.

“Alpha, you have to take it easy.” Neon said as he came closer.

“Do not tell me to take it easy!” I snapped at him, with a scary growl.

Then I picked up three arrows and was ready to shoot at a particular tree when the seer appeared in front of me, with a smile.

“Dylan, drop the arrows.” She said, calmly.

I dropped the arrows slowly, and hit a tree with a mighty punch and growled hard.

“You should not get yourself hurt because of your predicament, Dylan. She is coming back into your life.”

“What do you mean?” I asked as I turned my gaze from the tree to her.

“You heard me right, Dylan. Your lost love will re-incarnate, but I do not know when that is.”

My heart began to beat in renewed hope and I felt a bit better, but curious. If Nisha was going to come back, when would that be? And would she recognize me? Before I could ask other questions, the seer had gone.

Then I turned back to look at Neon and noticed that he had been frozen by Rosa before she left, which meant the information she gave me was one which no one else should know about, yet. Then Neon unfroze and looked at me, clueless of how my temperament had changed. Even if it was going to take years for Nisha to come back to me, I would wait those long years. Afterall, she was going to be in my arms again, then I can apologize.

~Many years later~

I was just coming back from my search for Nisha from the werewolf kingdom, Moon Lake. It had been a futile search, just like everyday had been. I got back to the palace, and Elvira welcomed me the moment she sighted me, coming into the palace. She was my betrothed.

~A few years back~

“Alpha, the Luna seat has been vacant for too long. You have to choose a new Luna as the kingdom isn’t complete without a Luna.” Elder Dane said, with concern.

It wasn’t right for the Luna seat to be empty, truly, but it was hard for me to open my heart to any other person.

“I will think about it.” I said as I gave a heavy sigh.

I was in my bedroom when Neon knocked on the door.

“Come in.”

“You asked for me.”

“Yes, I did. What decision do you think I can make, concerning this marriage issue? I really can’t open my heart to anyone else.”

“Alpha, if you will pardon me to make a suggestion, I feel you really do not have to wait to open your heart to anyone, before you get married. Slowly after marriage, you might end up falling for her or if you don’t, at least the Luna seat won’t be empty.”

“Hmmm. You have suggested right.”

~back to reality~

I had chosen Elvira the day she professed her love to me, when I had proclaimed visits from women who won the contest given to be considered. I didn’t love her and had only left her as my betrothed, until I was ready to make her the Luna. I still had a few years more to keep delaying the marriage, so it was fine.

“Welcome back, my King.” She said as she stroked my hair.

“Thanks.” I said, then dropped my bow and arrow which I used to deceive anyone, making them think I was going to hunt.

I went into the bathroom and had a warm bath. It was relieving and helped me reduce the depression I had gotten into, because I didn’t find Nisha. She was someone I couldn’t easily forget. Her smiles, laughter, stubbornness and the different sex styles she always tried with me. Although, Elvira and I had had sex, but I never felt satisfied the way I felt satisfied with Nisha.

Suddenly, something in the air had changed. It was an intoxicating scent that made me feel aroused, and I tried so hard to get my mind off having sex as I had not touched Elvira for over three months now. Then I stood up and went to the room to check what was going on, only to find Elvira, laying down, naked on the bed, sexily, with a cunning smile on her face.
