Chapter 128 – My plan

Chris’s POV

I ran.

I didn’t look back when I bolted out of Diana’s house. My chest burned, my legs felt like fire, but I didn’t stop. My ears still rang with that growl, that inhuman snarl Xander had made when he came through the door.

His eyes.

Red. Burning.

Not like the eyes of any man. They glowed in the dark like a beast from the pits of hell.

And his teeth. God…those teeth. Sharp. Hungry. Too sharp to belong to anything human.

When he hit me, it was like being struck by a truck. My bones rattled. My face throbbed. I thought he would rip me apart right there, in front of Diana.

I had never been so afraid in my life.

So I ran.

The streets blurred as I stumbled forward, gasping, bleeding, half-blind with terror. Every shadow looked like him. Every sound made me flinch. I didn’t care who saw me, I just wanted to get away.

Chapter 130 – Gathering StormChris POVThe night was heavy. Dark clouds covered the moon, and no star could be seen in the sky. I stood near the wide window of my mansion, staring outside, my hands pressed against the cold glass. My reflection looked back at me, pale, angry, restless.Since leaving the hospital, I had not been able to sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Diana’s face. Not the soft, smiling Diana I once thought I could have, but the cold, terrified woman clinging to that monster Xander. Her choosing him over me burned like fire in my chest. And then there was that little monster he calls a son that boy with glowing eyes and strange energy. He wasn’t human. I knew it the moment I saw him. Diana had birthed something dangerous, something unnatural. And she dared to protect it with that beast? No. I would not let them live in peace.I turned away from the window and walked back to my desk. On the surface lay a thick envelope of documents, bank records, and photograp

Chapter 129 – My Dark plan Chris POVThe walls of my mansion felt like a prison that night. Even though I had just come out of the hospital, my body still aching, my mind refused to rest. I walked from one corner of the room to another, my bare feet pressing hard into the polished floor. Each step echoed in the silence, a reminder of how empty this house had become. My hands shook, not from weakness but from the rage burning inside me. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her face. Diana. Her smile when she looked at him. Her soft voice when she defended him. And that child is her so-called cub. My jaw tightened. That little boy was the key to everything, and she thought she could keep him hidden from me.No. I would not allow it.I poured myself another glass of whiskey, though I could barely taste it anymore. The drink was only fuel, burning down my throat, feeding the fire in my chest.Xander. That beast. He had stood before me like a monster, his body changing into something that s

Chapter 127 – A Mother’s AdviceDiana’s POVThe morning light filtered through the curtains, soft and golden, but it didn’t bring me peace.I lay in bed staring at the ceiling, my thoughts circling round and round like restless birds that refused to land. My heart still beat unevenly when I replayed last night in my mind.Chris.The knocks. The shouting. The fear that shook me to my bones. And then Xander... the way he had burst in, no longer just a man, but something both terrifying and breathtaking. His red eyes glowing, his sharp teeth flashing, his wolf ears twitching as if he could hear every sound around us.I shivered. Even now, just remembering the sight of him made my skin prickle. But it wasn’t only Xander’s transformation that haunted me. It was also the way Star had cried out, that strange, broken sound that wasn’t like any human child’s cry. A wolf’s cry. A cub’s desperate call for help. And Xander had heard it, even from far away.My son… my little Star had awakened some

Chapter 126 – Diana’s ChoiceDiana’s POVThe room grew very quiet after Xander’s words. His voice was still echoing in my ears, heavy, steady, impossible to shake off: “Bring him… bring Star. Move into my home with me.”I held Star close to my chest, my hand rubbing small circles on his back as if the motion could calm me. But nothing could calm the storm inside me. My mind was spinning fast, chasing one thought after another.Move in with him? Leave everything behind? Just like that?I looked at Xander, standing before me with those red eyes dimmed to something softer now, something almost human, though the wolf inside him was never far. His face was firm, his jaw tight, but behind all of that strength, I could see something else. Something like hope. Something like fear.He was waiting for my answer. But I didn’t have one.My voice came out small. “Xander… It’s not that easy.”His brows drew together. “Why not?”I shook my head slowly, the words catching in my throat. Waiting for me to lie again. But I couldn’t. Not anymore.Star’s little face was still tilted up at him, so full of hope it broke me in half. His small hands gripped Xander’s shirt like he already knew the answer, like he just needed me to confirm what his blood already whispered. My throat tightened. The words burned there, heavy and scared.I had hidden the truth for so long. I told myself it was to protect him. To protect all of us. But now… looking into Star’s glowing eyes, seeing the wolf inside him rising, knowing Xander had been the one to save us tonight…I couldn’t pretend anymore.“Yes,” I whispered, so soft I almost didn’t hear myself.Xander’s eyes widened.
