Diana pov
The rhythmic beeping of machines was a soundtrack I'd grown all too familiar with. Five years had passed since my mother's accident, and in that time, the hospital had become my second home. I'd spent countless hours beside her bed, watching, waiting, and praying for her to awaken.
I Even had built a life of my own during that time I got married, started a career, and learned to navigate the world without my mother's guidance. But despite the outward appearance of normalcy, the ache of her absence had never truly healed.
As I sat there, my fingers trembled as I reached for her frail hand. Her face was pale, her chest rising and falling in a slow, mechanical rhythm. I whispered the same plea I'd spoken countless times before: "Mom... please come back to me."
I'd given up so much - my time, my energy, my happiness .All for the hope that one day, she'd open her eyes and I'd hear her voice again. My husband, John, had never truly understood. He was there, but not present. I'd ignored the signs the late nights, the indifferent glances, the lack of touch. I'd ignored it all because I had to.
A tear slipped down my cheek, splashing onto my mother's skin. "I need you mom I don’t have any other person,”I whispered. "Please."
Then, something changed. A flicker. A twitch. My mother's fingers moved. My heart pounded in my chest as I gripped her hand tighter.
"Mom?" I gasped, my voice barely above a whisper. The machines beeped frantically, as if sensing the shift in energy.
A ragged breath escaped my mother's lips, and then... her eyes opened. I froze, barely able to breathe or think. Tears streamed down my face as I choked on a sob.
"Oh my God. Oh my God," I whispered, scrambling for the call button.
Nurses rushed in, their voices overlapping, but I barely registered them. All I could do was stare at my mother, alive and looking at me.
He knew just how much I’ve been waiting for this, he knew how much I missed my mom and how much needed her around.
He’s going to be very happy that mom finally woken up
I grabbed my phone with shaking hands, dialing John's number. He didn't answer. I tried again. And again. Still nothing.
Frustration and excitement battled within me. Maybe he was busy. Maybe he was at work. But he needed to hear this. Without thinking, I grabbed my bag and rushed out of the hospital, barely feeling the ground beneath my feet.
I needed to see him. To tell him in person he will be very happy
I took a cab home ,I ran as fast as
my legs pumping as fast as they could me out of the car and enter my house .this is a very shocking news I couldn't wait to share it with my husband. But as I approached our bedroom, I heard a sound that made my blood run cold. A woman's voice, moaning and panting, echoed from inside our bedroom.
"Go deep , fuck, fuck, fuck me, Daddy! That's the right spot!" she screamed.
My legs weakened beneath me, my mind reeling in horror. it was filled with so much satisfaction that I don’t need to ask what’s going on .
“I have missed this boobs of yours .mercy response I missed sucking your dick .”John’s voice sent a sharp jolt through my body. My breath caught in my throat, my head spinning as I stood frozen outside the door. No. This can’t be real. He wouldn’t do this to me.
But the sounds… God, the sounds…proved otherwise.
Low, breathless moans. His groans, deep and unmistakable.
A painful lump formed in my throat as I clutched my stomach, my fingers trembling as they brushed against the door. The noises only grew louder, the wet slaps of skin against skin making my chest tighten with nausea.
I squeezed my eyes shut. Maybe I was imagining things. Maybe this wasn’t happening. But my gut already knew the truth.
Tears welled up, blurring my vision as I gripped the doorknob, twisting it slowly, praying begging for this to be a nightmare.
It wasn’t.
The world around me shattered the moment my eyes landed on them.
John. My husband. Naked and a woman beneath him moaning his name
“Not just a woman my cousin sister mercy “
Mercy have been the most closest and Best cousin that I have ever had.she always dream to be in my shoes ,she always wanted everything that I have but I don’t care because she is the sweetest but I didn’t know she wanted my husband too.
Their bodies moved together, tangled in a way that made my stomach churn violently. John’s hands gripped her hips as he pounded into her, his face twisted in pleasure pleasure he had never shown me. The sight of his cock sliding in and out of her, the way she arched and moaned beneath him, made my vision blur with rage and heartbreak.
A sharp ringing filled my ears. My knees felt weak. My heart pounded so hard it threatened to break free from my chest.
Why her?
Of all the women in the world, why Mercy? My cousin sister
She had always been there with me even when my mother was on comma ,and I have always reciprocated same energy when lost her parents, I even have to Job for her in my company so she will close to me And now, here she was beneath my husband, taking what was supposed to be mine.
I pressed a hand over my mouth, desperate to stifle the sobs threatening to escape. My body trembled violently as I stood there, watching them, unable to look away, unable to move.
As if the betrayal wasn’t deep enough, they shifted.
Mercy dropped onto the floor, her face pressed down, her back arched, ass raised high in the air. From my position, I could see everything the way John’s hands gripped her, how easily he slid inside her from behind.
A strangled gasp left my lips.
I should have screamed. I should have done something anything. But I stood there, paralyzed, drowning in the sheer horror of it all.
Then Mercy laughed.
“She let you pound her like this?” she teased, her voice dripping with amusement as John smacked her ass.
I felt my entire soul crack apart.
And in that moment, I knew I had to leave.
But the sounds God!, the sounds proved otherwise. A painful lump formed in my throat as I clutched my stomach, my fingers trembling as they brushed against the door. The noises only grew louder, the wet slaps of skin against skin making my chest tighten with nausea. I was praying and begging for this to be a nightmare. It wasn’t. As I turned to leave, my entire body froze. The air in the room became suffocating, and my heartbeat pounded in my ears. But nothing could have prepared me for what I heard next. “What about the children we talked about having together?” John’s voice was thick with pleasure, his breathing ragged. “I want you to be the mother of my kids,” he groaned. A deafening silence followed. My stomach twisted painfully. I felt sick. He really just said that. He really just God. He had just release inside her, and now he was talking about building a future with her? “John, are you serious?” Mercy’s voice dripped with amusement, as if this was all some twisted joke. John nodded without hesitation. “But don’t you think Diana should be Happy about all this?” she asked mockingly. John let out a cruel laugh, pulling Mercy closer. “When I called her a useless and good for nothing did you think I was joking?” His voice was laced with nothing but contempt. I felt my breath hitch. My hands trembled as I clutched the doorknob for support. “You are my mate I’ve always loved you, Mercy . Since our university days. It’s always been you,” he continued. “But I needed Diana’s money together with that of Her witchcraft mom that refused to die to sustain myself through school and present . Now that I’ve almost gotten everything I need, I’ll leave her. For good.” Tears blurred my vision. “Mates?what am I”. “If mercy is his mate who is mine?” “For four years, I made sure she couldn’t conceive. I drugged her food and I don’t think she will be able to get pregnant . I don’t love her. I never wanted a child with her.” A sharp pain shot through my chest. I couldn’t breathe. My vision blurred, then darkened. Four years. Four years of marriage. Four years of thinking I was the problem. Four years of blaming myself. And all this time he was the reason. I stumbled forward, my legs barely holding me up. My mother’s name slipped from John’s mouth like she was just another inconvenience. That was it. Something inside me snapped. I pushed the door and screamed never made it past her lips. It got stuck somewhere between her heart and her throat, where the betrayal burned like acid. Mercy staggered backward, knocking over a lamp. They jerked apart. His face was frozen in horror. My sister clutched the sheets to her chest. “You bastard!” My voice cracked with emotion, my chest heaving. “After everything my family did for you, this is how you repay me?” “It’s not what it looks like!” The words were ridiculous. Insulting. Cruel. John’s expression shifted, but I didn’t care. “How long have you been standing there?” he asked, panic creeping into his voice. “Long enough,” I spat. Then, without thinking, my hand flew across his face. The slap echoed through the room. “If you were going to cheat on me, the least you could do it in our house , with my Sister I hissed, my hands shaking. “Diana, I love you,” he said desperately. “I don’t care about your inability to have children ” A bitter laugh tore from my lips. “So all these years, it wasn’t me. You made me think I was broken. You let me suffer and cry every midnight.” My voice wavered. Mercy scoffed. “You don’t have to cry sis. I can give him what you can’t.” I turned to her, My whole body burned with humiliation, betrayal, rage but most of all, grief. “You can have him,” I whispered. “I’m done.” Without another word, I turned and ran. On my ruined marriage. On the man I had once loved. Tears fell freely as I walked away. Out of the door. Into the night I don't know where I'm going, only that i needed to go. I needed air. I needed to breathe. I needed to close my eye and sleep and forgot that anything happenedChapter 142 – Obsession and BloodChris’s POVMy hands shook, but I pressed the pistol harder against Diana’s head. Her chains rattled as she struggled weakly, her skin pale from the silver.Xander stood across the hall, his eyes glowing red, his claws dripping blood. He looked like a demon but his eyes were soft when they landed on her. That look made my stomach twist.“No closer,” I hissed, my voice cracking. “One more step, and she dies.”Xander froze, his chest rising slowly. His claws flexed, but he didn’t move. He was listening. Waiting.I licked my lips, my throat dry. “Do you even understand? She was mine. She was supposed to be mine! I gave her everything. And you took her from me. Every time she looks at you, I see it. She still belongs to you.”I pressed the gun harder, my words turning into a shout. “If I can’t have her, no one will! Do you hear me? Not even you!”Diana’s breath caught, but she said nothing. She only looked at him. Always him.It broke me.It made me hate

Chapter 140 – the heavy stormDiana POVMy lungs burned as I dragged Star down the endless hallway. Every step echoed like a drumbeat of fear. Sirens screamed above us, red lights flashing so hard the walls looked alive, closing in, squeezing us like prey in a trap.“Mommy, faster!” Star cried, his little hand clutching mine.I yanked out the stolen keycard, praying it would work again. The door scanner blinked red, then sparked, sizzling with a hiss. My heart dropped. Chris had shut the system down. He knew where we were.Star tugged my hand. His voice trembled but his eyes glowed with something fierce. “Daddy is close. I can feel him.”I wanted to believe. I wanted to lean on that hope. But before I could answer, the ceiling vents hissed open with a sharp metallic click. Mist poured down, silver-laced smoke twisting into the air like poison snakes. My skin screamed. It burned like fire eating me alive. My knees buckled, but I forced myself to stay upright. I shoved Star behind me, c
Chapter 139 – My club’s CallDiana POVThe scream is still in the air when the alarms begin.Red lights spin across the ceiling. Sirens wail. Metal doors slide down somewhere far, then nearer, then right above us, clanging shut one by one like the teeth of a trap.I pull Star into my arms. He is shaking and hot, like fever and fire at the same time. I can feel his heart racing in his small chest. I kiss his forehead. He tastes like salt and fear.“It’s okay. It’s Mama. I’m here,” I whisper, even though nothing is okay. The lab looks worse now that the lights have turned red. Shadows jump. Stainless tables shine like knives. Two scientists are still on the floor where I hit them. Another one crawls toward the wall, reaching for a panic button with a bloody hand. I kick the button first and yank the cord out of the wall. The siren keeps screaming anyway. I guess these alarms do not need wires. Of course, they do not. This house is a nest of traps.“We have to move,” I tell Star. “Can yo
Chapter 138 – The First MoveDiana POVThe guards dragged me deeper into the mansion, their hands rough on my arms. My wet clothes clung to me, making me shiver, but it wasn’t the cold that shook me. It was fear. A fear so heavy it felt like chains pulling me down with every step. The hallways stretched long and wide, too clean, too perfect, too empty. White walls glowed under harsh lights. Cameras blinked red from every corner, following me, watching every breath I took. Their tiny eyes seemed alive, like insects ready to bite.Every turn we made only pulled me deeper into a place that screamed trap.Behind glass windows, I saw scientists in white lab coats. Some scribbled notes, others stared at me with hungry curiosity, as if I was just another test subject. Their eyes made me sick. Their silence was worse. It told me they already knew what would happen here tonight.Weapons lined one wall of the corridor guns, blades, syringes filled with glowing liquid. Tools not of defense, but
Chapter 137 – Into the Lion’s DenDiana POVThe rain slapped against my face, sharp and cold like shards of ice. My hair clung to my cheeks, dripping, heavy, and tangled, but I didn’t stop. I couldn’t. Fear sat heavy in my chest, but determination burned hotter.Every step I took, my mind swirled with memories.Star’s laughter when he used to run through the fields. His little hands tugging at my sleeve, begging for “one more story.” His smile when he fell asleep in my arms. Then Xander’s face rose in my thoughts—his strong arms around me, the way his eyes softened when he looked at me, the quiet promises we shared in the night. Promises that I had broken tonight.I whispered into the storm, my voice trembling but steady.
