Chapter 40:The Invisible Baker

Diana’s POV

The next morning, I woke up at 4:30am. Not because I couldn’t sleep, but because there was too much to do. The moment I knew the contract was stamped and signed, I knew my life had entered a different season. But I also knew, deep down, that things were about to get more intense.

I was still feeling sleepy, but my baby boy came first. I turned a little on the mattress and saw my Star. His mouth was moving slowly like someone sucking in his dream.

I smiled as I gently lifted him to my chest. I picked up the feeding bottle, already warm, and put it in his mouth. He didn’t even open his eyes, just kept sucking like his life depended on it.

I rubbed his head slowly. “You will grow well, my son. Mommy is hustling hard for you.”

After I burped him and made sure he slept again, I went to the bathroom. Washed my face, brushed my teeth, and tied my apron well. Headed to the kitchen, it was already past 5am.

This is a new life I’ve entered.
