Chapter 40

As much as I would have loved to continue my tour of the house, I cut it short when I was alerted by my alarm. I set an alarm to know when I should start preparing dinner so I will be done eating before Byron's return.

I wanted avoid unnecessary run-in with Byron and so far my plan has been working and I wanted to keep it that way.

To be honest, it was kinda fun cooking while racing against time. It made me feel like I was on a top chef cooking show.

I was done with my meal, after waiting a few minutes I did the dishes and went up to my room. I looked around for something to distract myself with.

I brought out my sketchbook. Ever since Byron said he was going to invest in me and my work, I felt like I've been given a new lease of life. It's been a while since I've designed anything since I didn't have time. But ever since the Maldives, I've had that burst of inspiration to piece together a whole set of outfits.
