Eliana, an orphan at Safe Haven Orphanage, escaped for a good reason: to relieve Headmistress Rosie of her burden. However, her life began to change when she entered the dark, frightening mansion with a living beast, Caleb, an Alpha who chose to lock himself due to the death of his Luna. Would their lives be altered once they discovered that reincarnation had occurred?
View MoreStaring at the vicinity of the Safe Haven Orphanage—primarily painted with red and blue walls, gives overwhelming rejoice. It is a school and a place to stay for orphans. I closed my eyes and averted my gaze. I grew accustomed to the people and environment after living here for 17 years but hearing the conversations inside the Headmistress’s office shattered my heart; I sighed and leaned on the wall. Another turned down to adopt me, but it hurt me even more because I could hear Headmistress Rosie pleading with the wealthy married couple inside.
“What are you doing here, Eliana? Return to the classroom!” Miss Lalita suddenly appeared and yelled. I nodded and started walking. Since I was ten years old, I’ve used this cycle, which still breaks my heart.
“How was it, Eliana? Are you going to start living in a villa now?” Risa inquired as she stood at the door, wiggling her curly hair. I entered the room with a half smile on my face. She is one of my cheerful friends.
“Risa, don’t irritate Eliana. You can eat my sandwich here. I made it a while ago.” Mary offered as she handed me a sandwich with an egg and mayonnaise in the middle of it.
“Thank you,” I whispered. Headmistress Lalita burst through the door, raising her eyebrows and staring at me.
“So, we have a house rule here: you must leave the orphanage when you reach your legal age.” She screeched.
Headmistress Rosie abruptly grabbed Miss Lalita outside and spoke, “Lalita.” We looked out the window and saw them arguing over something. I closed my eyes and concentrated. One of my extraordinary abilities is to hear someone from a distance.
“What are you up to?” Headmistress Rosie inquired, her gaze fixed on Miss Lalita.
“What? The children here must understand that we can only assist them until they reach the age of 17, and your favorite orphan should not stay here. Loving families and couples have already adopted all youth her age.” Miss Lalita expanded.
“What exactly is it?” Josh appeared out of nowhere, his anxious expression on his face. He is the only person who is aware of my keen hearing.
“Nothing,” I uttered. My friends are too young to consider my issue at the orphanage.
“The poor girl. Another rejection.” Diana chuckled as she entered the room. Susan followed her and flipped their hair. I sat in the chair, shaking my head. My birthday is coming, and I will be of legal age soon. I focused my attention on Headmistress Rosie. Her lovely face has already creased due to her constant concern for me. I made up my mind before the outcome of the adoption process. It will be my final decision, and since it failed, I must leave on the night of my birthday.
Miss Lalita came in after a half-hour, began our lesson, and did not mention house rules. I sighed and listened to her lecture. No one ever tried to ask her about it except the young man with a golden spoon in his mouth.
“Headmistress, I just wanted to inquire about the legal age requirement in this place. Are you implying that Eliana must get out of the orphanage within two days?” Cali wondered out loud, a smirk on his face. The obnoxious young man at Safe Haven. A famous businessman adopted Cali, but he still wanted to study here because he always told everyone how lucky he was to have a butler and a maid. I noticed how Josh glared at him. Risa and Mary were about to respond, but I held their hands because we were all seated in one long chair.
“I’m all right,” I mumbled.
“Don’t try to hide your annoyance. Eliana, I know you.” Diana screamed.
“Stop right now!” As Miss Lalita yelled, we all gaped. “Answer all the questions on page 138 before proceeding to your assigned class.” She added and exited. Diana and Susan started walking and came to me in the last row.
“If I were you, I’d get out of here!”
“Loser!” They both laughed and raised their brows at me. Diana pulled my hair as I stood up and prepared to walk through the door.
“Leave Eliana alone!” Josh shouted at Diana, but Cali shoved him away, and then Susan assisted Diana in dragging him from the room. Unexpectedly, Mary and Risa became enraged and helped us. In the corridor, we start a riot. I saw how Susan gripped Mary's hand, and my rage exploded and pushed Diana. The orphans were shocked when she fell into the garbage. I took a deep breath and turned around.
“Eliana!” Miss Lalita ran to us and was the most enraged of the three Headmistresses by what I did. “What exactly did you do to Diana? Do you not realize she is on medication?”
“I—”
“I’m not interested in your explanation! Now is the time to clean the hallway and the garden!”
“That’s a lot,” Headmistress Rosie complained.
“No, I’ll leave right now,” I replied and started to leave the hallway. I overheard Miss Rosie and Miss Lalita’s conversation as I began walking through the garden.
“Why are you chastising Eliana?” Headmistress Rosie queried.
“I’m also a headmistress here, Miss Rosie. Respect my opinion, and it is clear that Eliana pushed Diana to the ground.” I shook my head and dashed away so I wouldn’t hear them.
When I arrived at the garden, I began picking up dirt and cleaning. Josh appeared out of nowhere and began trimming the bushes.
“Hey, it’s my task,” I explained. Josh smiled as he continued to cut the excess leaves from the plants. Then Mary and Risa arrived. They assisted me in cleaning the garden and hallway. “You’re not required to do it,” I mumbled as I sat on the grass.
“We’d love to help you, and our class ends early because Headmistress Rosie had something important to do.” Risa giggled.
“How come you seem so happy about it?” I asked, my gaze fixed on her.
“Nothing! Let’s go upstairs to our room.” She responded by yanking me up. Josh and Mary remained seated.
“Are you two not going back?” I inquired, raising my brows at them.
“We’ll be right behind you,” Mary responded. I nodded and followed Risa, returning to our room. The hallway was quiet, and every orphan stared at me with a confused look. Risa pulled me into our room as I was not paying attention. “What are you going to do?” I asked as I saw her going out.
“I’m going to double-check something.” She yelled as she shut the door. I sighed and looked around; we were six girls sleeping here—a large room painted blue on the left and red on the right. A mixed color that keeps agitating me. It is like a bloody gloom. The tears I was trying to hold back began to stream down my cheeks. What caused my parents to abandon me? I’d grown accustomed to feeling insignificant whenever my birthday rolled around. I remember everything Diana told me. My parents didn’t want a freak daughter, so they left me, and no one will ever adopt me. She is entirely correct. I was fortunate to have many married couples who wanted me to be their daughter, but they decided to cancel the adoption in the end. I saw how the Headmistress cried on the last couple. They are wealthy based on their luxury items and gold jewelry, but they claim I am a freak and do not want a daughter like me.
Unexpectedly, someone growled in pain and hit my ears. When I stood up, the scar between my neck and shoulder hurt.
“Ahhhhhh,” I exclaimed as I looked out the window. There are no animals outside. What caused that howl?
Eliana’s fingers trembled as she pulled open the black bag that Headmistress Rosie had handed her, her heart racing. The objects inside shimmered in the dim light, and a sudden wave of familiarity washed over her. The fragments in her mind, blurred and distant, started to come into focus. Something stirred deep inside her, a memory, a feeling she couldn't quite place. She stood frozen in the center of the room, gazing at the bag, as the sounds of muffled voices and low growls filtered through the walls. Then, the roar rang out—louder this time, raw and primal. Eliana’s pulse quickened, a sense of dread seeping into her bones. She dropped the bag onto the floor, its contents scattered. The picture of the woman in her dreams. Starting to see the clear pictures in her memories while she rushed toward the door. Her feet barely touched the ground as she flew outside, the air thick with tension. Her gaze darted across the yard, and there, in the clearing just beyond the
The forest was cloaked in an eerie stillness as Caleb made his way through the dense foliage, his senses heightened. He had finally pieced together the truth, thanks to Damien Ferns. Gonzalo’s plan had been revealed, as well as the secret of his identity. Gonzalo was not merely a rival—he was the catalyst for all the suffering Caleb had endured. As Damien Ferns was about to be defeated he asked for his mercy in exchange for telling him the truth. At first, Caleb was hesitant because ¼ of his pack members died at the Lycans hands. But, Damien is begging and kneeling at him. “You can kill after you know the truth. I am tired of being manipulated by Gonzalo.” Damien answered. Caleb widened his eyes.“What do you mean?” Caleb pointed her sharp claws to Damien's neck. “Tell me everything!”The truth about Lia’s reincarnation struck him like a thunderstorm, each revelation hitting him harder than the last. Eliana wasn’t just someone who reminded him of
The moon hung high in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the battlefield as the Blood Moon Pack and the Lycan Shadow Pack squared off. The dense forest echoed with growls, snarls, and the crackle of branches underfoot. Tensions were high as the two opposing packs braced for a confrontation that would change their fates forever.Caleb stood at the front of his pack, his sharp eyes scanning the opposing force. Despite the burning silver cuffs that had bound him hours ago, his strength had returned, his wolf's fury unrelenting. Damien Ferns, the Alpha of the Lycan Shadow Pack, stood opposite him, his expression smug and taunting."Damien," Caleb growled, his voice steady but laced with venom. "You made a mistake coming into my territory, taking my people, and dragging me here. You'll regret it."Damien smirked, his amber eyes gleaming under the moonlight. "Oh, Hemmington, you're always so predictable. Charging in with all your might, yet blind to the truths that surround y
The night was shrouded in an ominous silence as Caleb moved through the outskirts of town, his senses heightened, and his wolf on edge. The name Damien Ferns had been whispered in every corner of the territory lately, a rival whose shadow loomed larger with each passing day. Caleb knew that the Lycan Shadow Pack’s sudden resurgence was no coincidence, and all signs pointed to Damien as the leader of this growing threat.Caleb indeed wanted to find justice for her Luna Lia. He needs to be strong to fight the enemies. He takes a deep breath and then the woody scent lingered around.“Alpha,” Charles’s voice came through the field, steady but tense. “Our sources say Damien’s been spotted near the old warehouse by the river.”Caleb’s jaw tightened. “Keep the patrols on high alert. I’m heading back to the mansion to regroup.”But deep down, a growing unease twisted in his gut. Something was off—he could feel it. He knew something would happen but he couldn't point it out.
Eliana’s breaths came in shallow gasps as she leaned against the tree trunk, the forest’s damp air clinging to her skin. Memories swirled in her mind like a whirlwind, pulling her back to the moment everything changed. It was late one night at Caleb’s mansion, the quiet of the vast estate broken only by the soft rustling of leaves outside her window. She had been restless, her thoughts occupied by Caleb’s piercing gaze and the unspoken tension between them. That night, he had appeared in her room unannounced, his presence commanding yet tender.“I shouldn’t be here,” Caleb had said, his voice low, almost a whisper. But he didn’t leave.Their connection was undeniable, magnetic even. The walls Eliana had carefully built around herself crumbled as she allowed him to step closer. That night, under the dim glow of the moonlight streaming through her window, they had shared something intimate, something that transcended words. But the morning after, the truth unraveled. S
The forest was alive with tension, a stark contrast to the stillness that once surrounded it. The moon hung low, casting an eerie glow over the Blood Moon Pack and Lycan Shadow Pack as they clashed under its watchful eye. Growls and howls echoed in the night, accompanied by the sounds of snapping jaws and tearing flesh. The war between the two packs raged like a storm, its ferocity shaking the quiet town of Scottsdale to its core. Damien Ferns, the Alpha of the Lycan Shadow Pack keeps on glaring at Caleb.Amid the chaos, Caleb stood firm at the edge of the battlefield. His amber eyes scanned the horizon, searching for any sign of the woman he sought. But it wasn’t Eliana he found. Instead, his path led him deep into the heart of the forest, where the oldest wolf in existence waited. The ancient wolf’s fur shimmered silver under the moonlight, his ey
Eliana blinked in confusion at the message she had just received from the woman guard. Gonzalo had instructed that he wouldn’t be returning home for a week, and she was strictly reminded not to step outside the house. The sternness in the woman’s tone as she delivered the message only heightened Eliana’s unease. Gonzalo had always been unpredictable, but something about this felt... different. Off.Her gut churned, that all-too-familiar sense of foreboding settling in her chest. She couldn’t quite place her finger on it, but she knew—she just knew—that something was wrong. Still, she forced herself to focus on her chores, hoping the monotony would quiet the gnawing worry in the back of her mind. The following morning, Eliana woke up to an even stranger reality. She blinked against the soft light filtering into her room, only
Caleb couldn’t shake the unease gnawed at him as he watched Gonzalo. Something about his movements was off. Gonzalo, usually composed and confident, seemed... jittery. His eyes darted around the room like a cornered animal, and he kept adjusting his tie, which was already perfectly straight. Caleb’s instincts screamed that something wasn’t right.Charles, standing beside Caleb, nudged him with a smirk. “Looks like someone’s hiding something,” he said in a low voice, his tone teasing.Caleb shot him a glare, but it wasn’t enough to stop the amusement dancing in Charles’s eyes. Caleb didn’t have time for his beta’s games. His focus remained on Gonzalo, who was making his way toward the door, his movements stiff and unnatural.“Gonzalo,” Caleb call
Caleb stood by the large bay window in his office, the warm glow of the setting sun bathing the room in a soft amber hue. The golden light kissed the sharp angles of his face, highlighting the tension in his jaw and the flicker of something buried deep in his eyes. His thoughts swirled like a storm, fierce and unpredictable, torn between the weight of his duties and a gnawing feeling that he couldn’t quite name. It wasn’t just the responsibility of being an Alpha that pressed on him—it was something else, something that threatened to unravel him if he acknowledged it.As he spoke to his cousin, his lips lifted in a genuine smile, a rare moment of ease slipping through the cracks of his usually guarded manner. The conversation flowed effortlessly, a reminder of the good times he’d shared with Luna Lia. His voice softened as he spoke of her, the memories of their shared laughter and u
