"Open your eyes, Amelia," a deep baritone urged me to wake up.

I slowly fluttered my eyes open, smiling happily at seeing the familiar face of my dream boy gazing at me. Although he appeared much older than his previous version, he was still the same person I knew. It was within his gaze and how it radiated with so much warmth and love. Reality was too cruel, and I didn't want to wake up and face it.

I reached out to touch his face, feeling the light stubble already forming on his jaw, when those blue and green heterochromia eyes glared coldly at me.

Recognition slammed into me that instant. This wasn't my dream. This was reality. And this person was… "Lorenzo!"

I jerked my hand back, like I'd been burned. And it was then when I realized I was in his arms, and he was carrying me.

How long had I been in this position?

I freaked out and was about to get back on my feet when I noticed his heterochromia eyes lighting up with something akin to a sinister look. He chose that moment to make his announcement.

"Welcome to your new home, Amelia. Welcome to hell."

Before I could fully register his words, I felt my body being thrown into the air, and for one split second, I was flying, until gravity took force and I crashed into the pool of water below, the attack searing at my skin. I sunk to the bottom of the pool like deadweight.

I struggled in my new environment, fighting for a chance to breathe again. Water entered my nose and mouth. Survival instinct took over and I geared back into action. I pushed to my feet and reached for the surface, having just enough time to gain my bearings, when I was attacked again for a second time by a massive wave rippling through the pool.

I coughed and sputtered, wiping at my eyes to clear my vision, only to see Lorenzo making his way toward me, like a shark after his prey. I was his prey.

Fear gripped at my heart and I searched for an escape route. There it was. At the edge of the pool, a door leading me away from this room. If only I could reach it in time before Lorenzo caught up to me, I would run away from him.

I turned back and saw Lorenzo fast approaching. I checked my destination again. It was so close to me. Just a few feet away. I could make it.

I forced my feet to swim faster, but Lorenzo was way stronger and a better swimmer than me. In less than three seconds flat, he caught up, his fingers locking on to my ankle.

I panicked, kicking at him to release his hold, but his grip only tightened, and he pulled me into his powerful arms, trapping me against his chest. I pushed him again, not making his mission easy when he deployed another tactic, whipping me out of my senses. He moved so fast; his face became a blur. It was only until his lips were on me that I realized he was kissing me.

No. This wasn't a kiss. This was his way of controlling me.

I drummed at his chest, trying so hard to tear my mouth away, but he chased my lips and kissed me again, his palms locking my face into place.

I was starved of air. I whimpered, my way of begging him to stop. But he wouldn't relent. He kept going, kissing me as if he had a thousand vendettas to settle with me.

Just when I was on the verge of blacking out, he released me. I hurriedly gulped much-needed air, gaining enough oxygen to come back to my senses when he abruptly dragged me out of the pool and into the heat of the spraying shower. He turned the nozzle up and the pressure increased, the water biting and grazing at my skin.

"Stop. Stop it." I choked, thrashing the nozzle away.

He finally stopped and I fell into an exhaustive heap in the corner of the shower. Everything was too much for me, and I became overwhelmed; I cried, large teardrops falling down my face. "Why are you doing this to me?"

He crouched down to my level, gripping my head and tilting my chin up until his whole face was in my vantage point. He had to make sure I was paying attention to him. He had to make sure I only saw him. And I did, his cruel eyes staring at me mercilessly.

"Did you forget that you just sold yourself to me for the sake of saving your father?"

"Is that why you're treating me this way?"

"How did you think I would treat you? Did you think I was some nice guy who bought a woman with my four million dollars, just so I could put her on a pedestal? Is that what you think I would do, Amelia? Well, bad news. You've met the devil. You belong to me now and I can treat you how the fuck I want. Now get up!"

He jerked me by the arm and dragged me into one of the bedrooms and threw me onto the bed. He rummaged through the wardrobe, took out some towels and clothes, and threw them at me.

"Get dressed. I want to see you in the dining room in ten minutes."

And he exited the door just as fast as he had entered my life.

Once alone I fell into an uncontrollable sob. What had my life turned into? Within the span of two hours, I'd been ripped away from the family I loved and the life I had always known. And it was all because of that man named Lorenzo. He had taken everything away from me, but what he couldn't take was my dignity and my will to live.

Be strong, Amelia. You are going to be okay. If you want to survive this, you have to be strong. Your life will be fine… Life…..

I’m sorry.”“I was waiting for you.”I woke up drenched in sweat, my heart beating fiercely against my rib cage.My arms and legs were tangled and twisted around the bedsheets, a result of the wet dream I’d just had.Oh God! “Amelia. Sit down,” Lorenzo barked out again.I collapsed back into my chair, my eyes downcast. The room was covered in a blanket of silence and it was suffocating. The food was supposed to taste delicious, but this nervousness inside of me was playing havoc with my taste buds, and everything I ate tasted like cardboard. Was this meant to be a regular occurrence, this dining together thing? I understood when people liked each other, they ate together, but Lorenzo hated me, so something just didn’t add up. Unless he knew I would be apologizing in advance. He knew I was at fault, so he was waiting for me to speak up first. It was now or never. I summoned all my courage and was about to speak when he beat me to it.“There are rules in this place, Amelia. And one of those rules is that you are not to go to that place again.”I just looked at my food. I didn’t want to look at him.“Did you hear what I just said, Amelia?”To hell with the apology. He didn’t deserve it.“I heard you the firs

He got out the fruit juice blender and threw in the fruits and soy milk.Ming-May could have done it for him, but he needed to keep busy to get his mind off Amelia. He didn’t like how she kept dominating his mind. After drinking his smoothie, he went to his office, situated on the upper floor, an open concept that allowed him to keep a close eye on Amelia. From where he sat, he got the perfect view of Amelia’s bedroom, or the guest bedroom to be precise. He started work, but found his mind kept wandering back to Amelia. He couldn’t understand why he threw her into the guest bedroom. Amelia wasn’t a guest. She should be living in a place far less luxurious than this. But no matter what excuse he came up with, it just wasn’t reasonable enough to justify him putting her into that room. And he was still struggling to find an answer now. Thankfully, work took over and he was able to concentrate on the task at hand. It wasn’t until around five in the evening that he realized he was hungry.

“Are you crazy? I’m still standing right here.”I swiftly turned away from him and focused all my attention on the gold tiles on the wall. I didn’t know how long I stared at them. I heard the sound of the water being turned off. I heard Lorenzo getting into the bath. But I still didn’t move from my spot. I stayed fixed, staring at that wall.“Are you going to get out or do you want to look?” Lorenzo said. Those words were enough incentive for me to get moving again.I walked out of his bathroom as fast as I could, making sure to shut the door on my way out. I didn’t need him to appear half naked before me again. My head was already swimming with images of him and his bare chest. What I needed right now was to get rid of them. What I needed even more was some fresh air.I was on my way out of Lorenzo’s bedroom when the view from his glass wall caught my attention. It overlooked the city and the… garden. Lorenzo had a rooftop garden. Why hadn’t I noticed it sooner?I slid open the glass

“Planning to escape?” Lorenzo snapped me out of my reverie.“No. I…”He didn’t let me finish my sentence. He pulled my arm and dragged me back to his bedroom.“Don’t. Stop dragging me around. I can walk.”I pushed him off, but he was too slippery. His skin was sleek with sweat, and all I had accomplished was sliding my hands across his chest and feeling how taut his muscles were.Lorenzo didn’t let me go until we got to his bedroom. He threw me inside and shut the door, standing there to block my exit. I watched him with contempt in my eyes. He leaned back against the door and folded his arms, viewing me with the same contempt.“Don’t throw me around like that. I’m not your rag doll,” I told him off.“Where did you get that bravery from, Amelia?”He was right. Where did my courage come from? I didn’t know. I just knew I couldn’t tolerate being manhandled like this anymore. If I were to work under his care, he had to treat me right.“I just…I just thought, if I were to work under you,

“Can I help you with anything?”“No. No. No.” She quickly waved her hands. “This is not your domain.”It was understandable that Ming-May was put in charge of the kitchen since she was such an amazing cook. But I was curious where I was put in charge.“Oh. Then I have my own domain?”“Of course. Come. Come this way. I’ll show you.” Ming-May dumped the dishes in the sink and led me to my so-called domain. I followed her up the stairs and stopped at the only door on that floor. We stepped into a man’s room. I knew it was a man’s room because the décor was different from the room I stayed in — stark gray, black, and white, and not a single bright color anywhere.“This is your domain, Miss Amelia. You are to be Master’s personal maid. You are to take care of everything for him.”“By master, you mean this Niko person?”“Yes. Master Niko. He doesn’t come to this residence often, but if he does, make sure it’s ready for him.”“Then what about Lorenzo? Where does he stay?”I should be pleased
